crash when moving objects

Hey there,

illustrator, After effects and indesign started crashing when I move objects. After that I restarted it's OK for a while, and then it starts crashing again. I read all the previous threads on this crash when moving issue, but none of the solutions seem to work.

Using indesign and illustrator CC 2014 on Mac os x 10.10.1.

any suggestions?

Thank you!

Shai

I found a solution that works, at least for me. I stopped using Chrome and since the problem disappeared. Something about her was causing programs to crash.

  • Cs6 InDesign crashes when exporting objects with shadows in interactive PDF format

    I use the trial version of InDesign CS6 on a mac OSX 10.7.4 that I need to export my document as an interactive PDF. I found that the export works very well as long as none of the objects in my document were a shadow. However, if I add a shadow to any object (text, images or video) InDesign will crash when I try to export. I'm adding the shadow by selecting the object and choosing object > Effects > drop shadow. Is there another method I should use to add shade if I want to export to an interactive PDF?

  • LabVIEW 2009 SP1 crashes when moving large selection with the arrow key

    If I select a lot (10 or 15) diagram components and try to move some distance with the arrow button, I'm often a program crash.  Because a reduced number of components seems to hang after a longer distance traveled, it looks like some sort of buffer overflow error.  I don't see this problem when you use the mouse to move selections.

    I checked to make sure I have the latest version of the video driver for my NVIDIA Quatro FX570.  I also tried to work with no hardware acceleration and no handset, written.  What happens on Windows XP SP3 with all current updates.

    It became so bad that I have to do a save as every fifteen minutes to avoid losing data.

    Why not use my mouse for all movements?  Because it is not as specific and not so easy to limit to only one dimension of the movement.   My hand is not as stable as it once was.

    I'm hoping someone will have a suggestion that will clear up this problem.

    As I have indicated, I had the same problem with 8.5 and just DID a new install of Labview 2009.

    Since it is possible that my three monitors configuration, which of course requires more memory video, may be at the origin of the problem, I am satisfied with workaround by dragging the objects closer to their final destination and then using the arrow keys.

    Three monitors are ideal for the front, block and help/Internet/probe damaged.  When I got to work in the field with a single monitor, I felt severely handicapped.

    You can consider the issue closed.

    Thank you for trying to reproduce the failure.

  • InDesign CC 2014 spinning wheel for 3 seconds each time when moving objects

    I'm working on a magazine, not that big, 64 pages (I do often 100s of pages) and it's happened before with CC. I move a text box, picture, shape, QR code or anything on the page, I get the spinning wheel for about 3 seconds until the object is moving and the slider is 'released '. Sometimes up to 6-7 seconds. If I press "Cancel", takes an object as much time to go back. Seems to be random, the document is well a minute, but if it starts to happen with a document from the downturn and it won't go away.

    InDesign is up-to-date

    My PC is Windows 7, 64 bit, 16 GB Ram, 240 GB SSD and 4 TB of storage.

    Using Indesign since it replaced PageMaker way back when

    Hi, yes I can confirm that it is due to copying items to another InDesign file.

    Not really a problem as it is a bug in InDesign, but here is the workaround:

    • If you have copied elements of another InDesign file, open the old folder and look at all the temp files appearing while you have the wheel (you may need to 'show hidden files' in Solution Explorer folder options.) If a temporary file keeps appearing and disappearing in this folder, which is the culprit.
    • So rename the old folder (use an underscore or similar). Then, indesign will not be able to refer to the old folder and create these odd temporary files.
    • If you copy any form elements more other InDesign files, you must rename those files (or rename this folder once again), but do not change the name of the original name because it will start to slow down again in InDesign.

    Hope that make sense... otherwise, I could probably do a little YouTube video of the bug and work around.

  • 5.5 crashes when selecting objects

    I run a Macbook Pro with Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz to mid-2010 and 8 GB of RAM.

    When I click on an object - image, block of text - or page in the Pages panel - there is a big spike in the use of the processor (for example 3% to 60%) and the whole machine hangs for about 5 seconds before the frame shows have been selected. It does this in CS3 or CS4 and it did not in CS5.5 when I installed it first, did he do before I upgraded from 4 to 8 GB of RAM, and before I moved from Snow Leopard to Lion, so it doesn't seem to be a problem of memory/OS.

    I know there have been similar, positions for example http://forums.Adobe.com/message/2885091 , but none of the suggestions worked. I have:

    -turned off preflight and refreshment

    -restarted

    -re-installed program

    -Reset preferences

    -reformatted the hard drive and install the new OS

    -Quit all the other program, closed other docs ID and insured RAM and CPU were not overused

    -kept at least 15 GB of free space on the startup disk

    -tested on large docs (200 pages full of images with complex effects) and lowercase (1 page maximum, a small text frame)

    Behavior remains the same all I do.

    Acrobat X was even worse, for example by selecting a page or a tab opening or even open a menu drop-down takes 5-10 seconds. It's like that since the first installation, and re - install made no difference. (One day it was working well, but I couldn't understand what I was doing different.) Acrobat 9 used to work fine, but now it behaves like X.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Well, it took a few hours more painful, but I finally found the culprit: RightZoom

    http://download.CNET.com/right-zoom/3000-18487_4-10909444.html

    This is a very useful little app which gives you the equivalent of maximizes in Windows, which is curiously absent in OSX. I had it runs automatically at login, but it does not show in the list of running programs (probably because it's sort of a background app that you normally just turn on then ignore) so I didn't notice when before troubleshooting.

    All I had to do was add InDesign and Acrobat Exclusions in Configure and they instantly started working normally. The problem again instantly if I add them back in, so there is no doubt it is the cause of the problem.

    Oh well, thanks for all your help guys. You might not have solved the problem directly, but your 'instinct' that it was a conflict with another application has proved to be well-founded.

  • Satellite A200 crashing when moved or when the CPU usage is too high

    Well so recently my Toshiba Satellite A200 started crashing everytime I have to pick up the laptop or run any processes taking the CPU up to 100% usage.

    This means essentially no rendering 3D games and no Photoshop or current iTunes running at the same time, etc. Here are the best even if it happens only when the laptop is plugged and not when only battery power. I tried to use another AC adapter, and I cleaned the hard drive for a new installation of Windows 7 that never solved the problem. I even went so far as to update the BIOS.

    I am not quite determined that he is just a hardware problem, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions about which party can act up on me. As I said still works like a dream when running on battery power.

    > Here is the kicker if this happens only when the laptop is plugged and not when only battery power.

    The energy saving switch to another profile, using the AC adapter.
    Maybe you can try to change the speed of treatment at a lower level and could increase the cooling method parameters in the energy saving profile when the AC adapter is in use.

    Otherwise, it could be a hardware problem and in this case, you will need a help of ASP.

  • Yoga Pro 3 with 10 Windows crashes when moved

    A couple of weeks ago, I did a clean install of Windows 10, and it has worked smoothly since then.

    The last day, Windows 10 has been freezing constantly. After som dig, I realized Windows froze when I moved the laptop (not to shut down or anything like that, just pick up my knees was enough). I tested my theory several times, and whenever I get the laptop to the surface it freezes.

    It only happens in Windows, tried to launch the application of recovery (outside), and I can move the laptop freely without him never freeze.

    Clues?

    Edit: oddly enough, this behavior occurs when the wireless card is enabled in the Device Manager. I can add that yesterday, after the system froze, the wifi adapter missing from Device Manager all together. Had to enable/disable in the BIOS to get it back.

    Not sure if you are happy to hear my answer, but I'm done then try to restore the computer to its factory with Windows 8.1 configuration. Surprisingly, after restoring Windows 8.1, everything worked fine again. No gel, WiFi works fine, everything back to normal.

    After that, I did a clean install of Windows 10, and it now works fine with Windows 10.

    I guess a clean install of Windows 10 would do the trick as well, but I too far on the road that I considered as returned it for repairs. As it's a PC that I use for work, I had to wipe everything before sending it anyway, so I thought that the factory reset could do this job.

  • InDesign CS 2 crash when moving pages

    Operating system: Xp Sp2

    Program Indesign CS2

    Problem: Then the average edition size ~ 50 pages of an indesign document or if I was normally on the Organization of the order of the pages in the document when InDesign suddenly froze, it resembles code somehow made the tour forever. It crashed the comp, and the best part is that when I tried to reopen the document the problem persists: I can normally work with page 1, but if I try to move to another page the program performs a loop again, any ideas? What information do you need?

    Since you can open the document, I suggest that you open, then immediately, before all else, export to .inx. That open and save under a new.indd. He can fix what is causing the problem.

  • Crash when moving from a structure in a call library function node

    I am trying to use a type of Fortran (which I think is similar to a struct) in a LabVIEW call library function node.  I read a few remedies to this topic, but I'm not quite sure if I need to add the name of the parameter list of the node structure.  Now, when I run my VI it closed just LabVIEW entirely with no message.  I've attached the VI that I use and code source fortran, which compiles in my .dll.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Do you know if Fortran passes parameters by value or by reference?  I never used it.  A very quick search on the internet gives to think that the parameters must be passed by reference.  If this is the case, then you must pass the entire cluster as the parameter single, similar to Fortran statement.  You must also change the order of cluster to match the order in the Fortran statement.  Try the attached VI.

  • No grid snap to horizontal and vertical lines when moving objects or work plans

    Hi all

    On illustrator CS5 and later it was a feature... I'm not sure of the name, but I call it smart alignment. Whenever I started to move an object or work plan it would be bright green lines vertical and horizontal to suggest snapping to the part or an element or a plan of work... and Center. It was super useful! But for some reason, I can no longer see these guides. Is it possible to recover? I tried to turn on snap to grid and point, but they are not returned. Thank you!

    Kevin,

    We are talking about view > guides?

    What is displayed depends on the options settings.

    The Smart Guides have been there a lot longer, but initially without options of choice (less then).

  • Artifacts when moving object with the help of the arrow keys.

    Hi all

    hope this is the right place to post this question.

    I want to write simple arkanoid game in Flash (AC3). I managed to write code that moves my paddle with the arrow keys. The code looks like this:

    function OnNewFrame(event:Event):void
    {
        if (input.IsLeftHeld)
        {
            if (paddle.x > 0)
            {
                paddle.x -= 10;
            }
        }
        else
        if (input.IsRightHeld)
        {
            if (paddle.x < stage.stageWidth - paddle.width)
            {
                paddle.x += 10;
            }
        }
    }

    It works, but the result is ugly. The animation is not smooth, there are moments when the paddle stops for a moment. Also when the speed of translation is high (this is 10) you can see that paddle flashes at the ends, it resembles the unique problem of buffering. You can see both of these effects here: http://www.flash-game-design.com/flash-tutorials/movOb.html , identified flicker is less visible due to the amount of small translation.

    How to solve this problem? How can I enable double buffering (or maybe it is enabled by default)?  Any help will be appreciated.

    PS Sorry for the bad English

    Hello! I think you went backwards... First - in order to achieve the best visual transitions - you will not use travel speed at all. Second - you must pay attention to the establishment of the frame rate of the Flash document. Vivid games usually run at 60 frames per second. So I made a sample for you. Try it, it: http://cdn.dmldevelopment.com/plugins/tests/paddle/paddle.html . You can use arrow keys plus a key space to see how smooth the transition is. And you can download the source code here: https://rapidshare.com/files/3779443821/paddle.zip . Please let me know if I helped you. See you soon!
