Firefox has been crashing since at 24 on all kinds of Web sites and update at any time. I tried CCleaner tool as well as reset the browser. It did not help. Today, the browser crashed a record 5 times since this morning, and there still hours to go before the day is over.

Here's the crash today IDs:

Start Firefox in Mode safe to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

To turn on safe mode

  • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
  • Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If it works in Mode safe mode and normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) off and then try to find which extension is the cause by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit ' (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: ' Firefox > quit Firefox. " Linux: "Firefox/file > exit ')

  • YouTube crashes Firefox instantly - and I mean instantly, hardware failure

Under Firefox 3.6.3 openSUSE Linux 11.0. Have re-installed twice, including completely deleting the .mozilla profile. No effect. By clicking on the Google youtube address will IMMEDIATELY crash Firefox completely. I have blocked all cookies from Youtube due to a problem with the message "an error has occurred" in the opera and also blocked in Firefox. I also tried "Private browsing" without effect - even accidents. I am very upset by this situation. Also, when I access the Gmail interface full (instead of the interface embedded in iGoogle), Firefox ALSO crashes instantly. Here are the two main Web pages, I have NEED of Firefox to work! This is completely unacceptable and I see Googling that MANY people have this problem. There should be an IMMEDIATE DIFFICULTY.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

    is upgrade 3.6.3

In fact, I solved the problem by installing the 3.6.4 beta which, with the Adobe Flash 10.1 r32 pre-release of Flash, works to stop accidents. YouTube plays do not apparently necessary issue is blocking cookies from YouTube, for some weird reason - apparently there is a known issue with YouTube frequently refusing to play videos because some wierdness of cookie.

Only problem I have now is Firefox 3.6.4 open TweetDeck links from the cache rather than go directly to the page, but that's another question.

  • I installed jZip, it crashed Firefox and does not start again; How can I get Firefox to work once again, preferably without uninstalling?

I installed jZip and it crashed Firefox, I tried to restart Firefox, but it wouldn't. I uninstalled jZip, Firefox didn't work; I restarted the computer and it still does not work. I can't use even run Windows to pull up the profiles. Is there something I can do to get Firefox to work again without reinstalling? I really like to use the session restore but its so erased its uninstalled.

    Yes to aid,

    Start > Search > firefox.exe /ProfileManager {ENTER}

    I got to the profiles.

I'm fed up and uninstalled Firefox, when he asked if I wanted to erase all data associated with Firefox I did not and when I reinstalled it straight last session here, I assume that this sort of program file has been damaged and has stopped working. Put it back, fixed everything that was wrong.

  • YouTube freezes or crashes firefox but works fine in Internet Explorer

Every time shoot youtube in Firefox it immediately freezes or crashes with the whole browser. the only thing I can do is close Firefox via the Task Manager. This happens every time. It used to work fine. I have disable even speed up the video. Nothing seems to work. The only time where this kind of work is when I uninstall and reinstall firefox or flash player. Then the first time I have pull up to youtube, it works fine but when I close the browser, then re-open it and go on youtube, I have exact the same problem as before.

Firefox will pull up to youtube without problem when I uninstall the Flash Player (of course can not see the videos then), but after the installation of youtube freezes.

Also Internet Explorer out of the youtube videos great, like Firefox, used to do. Don't know what the problem is or what has happened, but youtube immediately freezes or crashes Firefox when Flash Player is installed in firefox

Hey guys I think we have a solution for this one. More often the case, the glitch is not with FF but with some plugin or incompatible piece of SW.

Troubleshooting: Uninstall FF, uninstall flashplayer, uninstall all toolbars in the browser add ons etc. (if necessary, use Adobe Flash uninstaller (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html#main_Download_the_Adobe_Flash_Player_uninstaller)

Reinstall the latest FF and latest Flash Player version.

DO NOT add, activate, fix anything else at all. Just naked FF and only most recent flash player.

If you had Zone Alarm toolbar add the earlier and have uninstalled and reinstalled do not, FF is likely to pullup videos youtube without problem.

Zone alarm toolbar is incompatible with FF when installing Flash Player and pulling upward on a youtube page.

It is likely that other toolbars can also be incompatible so just install the naked browser and then the Flashplayer. If it works you can begin to reinstall addons etc one by one.

  • Resolve repeated Shockwave Flash crash Firefox - EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ

    Hey all,.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I worked on a client computer and I get frequent crashes. Previously, the logs show the same error but indicated in the metadata for a plugin obsolete. I removed the plugin and accidents happen again (at least once a day).

In newspapers that bit that worries me is that Sophos may be the culprit and maybe hinder or prevent intervention of Flash to function properly.

The following actions have been recommended in various articles of Ko and I take them without resolution:
    -Updated Firefox
-Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Flash
    -Hardware acceleration disabled for Flash
    -Disabled hardware acceleration for Firefox
    -Removed previous plugin (LogMeIn).

    Greatly appreciated

Each of the 3 reports is different:

    (1) flash crashes

It uses protected mode (you can see the entries of the EXE in the blocked thread). It is not stable on all systems, unfortunately. There is a new parameter hidden to test with this option off:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste the flash and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) double-click the preference dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable - protected mode to change its value from false to true.

It cannot take effect until all the Flash was discharged for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.

Before the preference has been added, how to disable protected mode was by creating or modifying a parameter file. The following/post pages provide different approaches to that if it is necessary (if Flash EXE process continue to appear in the processes tab, Windows Task Manager, even after changing the preferences of Firefox):

To download the Flash completely (closing and restarting Firefox could help) until it takes effect.

    Any improvement?

    (2) related to D3D11 crash

Firefox has recently started to use this most recent version of DirectX. I'm not sure it's important, because the accident could have happened with the old version, too.

Two of the reports three crash related to this report indicates problems with a different graphics card/chipset driver. In this case, if an updated driver is not available or not useful, the solution is usually to disable Firefox to use hardware acceleration.

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?

    (3) OOM = Out of Memory crash

With the use of the memory system to 81%, Firefox has apparently failed to get the memory block, he asked from Windows and died. I hope this isn't a common problem.

  • Google Earth crashes Firefox 10.0.2

I see Firefox hang when using Google Maps. More precisely when switching to the option of Google Earth in Google Maps. The problem is more likely to occur when the statement to view the horizon but can also crash when moving everything.

I didn't used to have this problem on older versions of Firefox (3.x) and currently, the problem does not occur on Google Chrome or IE9.

I think it may have something to do with OpenGL since it is using 3D rendering. I use Windows 7 with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 and have updated the drivers to see if that fixes it, but to no avail.

Google might be pulling a Microsoft and making it so the application does not work well? Not my real question, just thinking out loud.

Question, is anyone else seeing this problem?

    Details:
    Windows 7
    Firefox 10.0.2
    8 GB RAM
Dual screen (occurs on a monitor)
    Latest drivers GeForce 8800

Problem varies from just a block with the eternal blue circle or Firefox on some occasions just closes during navigation.

To reproduce simply go to http://maps.google.com and then switch to Earth. Zoom in as close as possible to the relief and turn around to see the horizon. Then move until the crash occurs.

    Thank you
    Valerie

  • JavaScripts run or crash Firefox.

Web site buttons that launch the javascripts are ignored. After that, FF can hang or crash or continue. JavaScript is enabled in the Options. I deleted prefs.js and reinstalled FF nothing helps. Everything works OK in IE7.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

  • 41 of Firefox crashes, FIrefox was crashing at startup from the 40.0.3 updated

    Crash ID: bp-fceb36ed-dad2-4eab-9836-687df2150928

    Hello
After update to Firefox 40.0.3 several weeks back, Firefox would crash at startup. I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled FIrefox (now with version 41), this is updated to Windows (Vista 64-bit), shockwave and Flash Player updated, uninstalled Firefox and deleted the Mozilla folder in AppData Roaming directory. Update some addins, FreeMake in particular. Disabled antivirus (Norton 360). I'm unable to start Firefox in safe mode (when I hold SHIFT and you try to start Firefox comes immediately to the crash report). Versions prior to 40.0.3 worked without any problems.

I look forward to hear from you, thanks! David

Sorry to hear about the accident and that you have the ID of the report.

The signature seems a disproportionate impact on the users of Vista. There is a bug in the accident report, but it is for the test of 64-bit versions of Firefox and the final versions are all 32-bit versions.

I see a reference to FLVSrvLib.dll in the report (at the top of the list in the mini Modules tab), which is a DLL associated with Freecorder program Applian Technologies. In other threads, users have experienced startup crashes if they Freecorder and Norton.

If you have indeed the Freecorder program and it is not essential, try to uninstall it then restart Windows to ensure that none of its components are running.

Firefox will start normally after that?

  • Why 'Download & browser history' compensation crash Firefox and NOT clear my history?

I want my Locator bar autocomplete erased. I use my computer for personnel, business and do not want my story showing on screen sharing meetings when you type in the browser.

    Firefox on Mac (Yosemite) 40.0.

    I go to:

    -History
    -Clear recent history
    -Browsing & download history
    -Click the 'clear now '.

Firefox blocks (beachball), wait a few minutes, still react not, must be "Force Quit" through OS X

Reopen Firefox, Locator bar always auto-termine. History still there.

Starts in Mode safe, disabled all add-ons. Always hangs and does not clear the history.

Disable AutoComplete in the location bar is not a solution. This is a bad solution.

If there is a folder or .js I could remove from the file system, it would be at least something, but I found nothing on these forums who instructed on how to do it. The only solutions are to disable add-ons, start in safe mode, click the button "Clear recent history" even making crash the browser. To try to solve this problem, I had to wipe all my open tabs, re - configure my workspace, all it costs me time and money.

I use Firefox because I'm a software developer and he has the best tools for development, but he is trying more and more to be a browser based on the consumer, as Chrome or Safari, and I hate those intensely. I don't want that. I want something that is a development tool.

Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can

  • Many download lead to crash firefox cannot remove

    Hello

I downloaded the files of 1300 at the same time via firefox, which lead to firefox to crash and every time I start the download resume and fails.
I tried to enter via safe mode, but I could ' t remove the download queue.

The default delay to resume downloads is 4 seconds as shown through this pref:

    • browser.download.saveLinkAsFilenameTimeout = 4000

You can create a user.js file and add a line to set a higher delay.

    • user_pref ("browser.download.saveLinkAsFilenameTimeout", 20000);

Firefox handles downloads in the downloads folder in the library (history > view history) and stores the download history in the places.sqlite file.
Delete places.sqlite file and, optionally, places.sqlite - shm and places.sqlite - wal will delete the history.
Firefox should rebuild automatically bookmarks from a JSON backup in the folder bookmarkbackups.

You can try to start Firefox with the library window by creating a copy of the current Firefox desktop shortcut.
Add a space and -chrome chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul in target field in the properties.

I don't know if that prevents the Firefox to resume downloads paused or unfinished.

  • Shockwave Flash has crashed; Firefox now removes all my tabs and groups when closing! Help!

I sent a crash report. Everything was fine until I clicked on 'X' to close the program. A dialog box pops up asking if I wanted to close multiple tabs I had open. I clicked on cancel, checked my Options: I "When Firefox starts" the value "show my windows and tabs from last time" as always. I tried again to close Firefox and got the same dialogue. I clicked to close. I re-opened Firefox, reopen the now missing tabs, then click on it to close the bottle. Same dialogue.

    Judy

Sorry to hear about the accident. You can share your reports of incidents with volunteers of the forum to see if it points to the solution. Please check the last section of the support article "Firefox plant - troubleshoot and prevent assistance fixing crashes" for steps get these IDs crash since the topic: block the page and then after the most recent here.

Some users who suffer from the stop accidents reported that the problem occurs only with the Red 'X' button and not when they close Firefox by using the menu (either):

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Could you try next time instead as a workaround?

  • Crashes Firefox attempts to access the windows user profiles (maybe)

After several relocations and other attempts based on comments found in the various positions in the solutions, I'm still stuck here. Firefox installs and works ok with high permissions (run as administrator), but crashes frequently then run normally. In normal mode it still crashes when opening the 'options' dialog box on: page preferences and when you download a file. It sometimes crashes when browsing. No high mode installation happens to 90 percent and crashes, elevated installation works very well. An explanation would be that firefox doesn't have access to C:\users\ < profile >------... at the level he needs, but I was not able to find out why. IE seems to work very well, and I reset the default security settings in IE. The signing of the accident say nothing useful about the reason. I adjusted all the firewall and down the ladder. Everything worked until I got other problems requiring aggressive edits and now all but firefox works. Basic navigation in firefox is ok, and work the plugins like flash and acrobat. So I was stuck on this for about a week, limping and try things. I don't know if it's firefox specific or something systemic, but it would be good to know what is the problem, so I have an idea how to solve this problem. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thank you.

So my next move was to create a new user account. The new user has been able to use Firefox normally. Several other problems existed with the original, but not as bad as Firefox user account. In any case, with user created a new account and the old one deleted, it seems once again things are finally normal. My guess is that some elements in the account data has been deleted, by something or someone, and Firefox to access, but did not check the possibility he wasn't there.

  • Plant - journalist crash Firefox do not send report

    Hello

I'm on the latest beta (33.0 Beta 3) and I have firefox crash a few times a day. That's fine, but when the journalist accident appears he tries to send the report to mozilla but fail most of the time. But note that is sometimes successful. I know to 33.0 that they updated the restoration of session so don't know if this has something to do with it.

How can I send a report manually? Has anyone seen this problem before?

In the address bar, type about: crashes. Note: if the report is not
have BP before the numbers, click on it and click submit.

  • If I open a tab that has a vine file, Firefox crashes. I don't even have to click on the vine-just that it is part of tha page will crash Firefox

If I fall on a vine someone has posted to twitter, or go to a Web page where someone posted a vineyard, Firefox will crash. I don't even have to click on the 'play' button-Firefox will crash. How to use FF to block the vine to load even on my pc?

It's strange, it's hard to imagine a good reason for it.

I see you have Blocksite. Have you tried this model:

    http://*.vine.co

    Edit: You may also need:

    https://*.vine.co

When Firefox crashes, it generally records information about what was happening at that time. You can submit these data to Mozilla and share with the volunteers of the forum to see if it points to the solution. Please read the support article "Firefox blocks - troubleshoot to prevent and help in establishing accidents" (especially the last section) to get the how to get these IDs crash and then after the most recent here.

If you get the Mozilla Crash Reporter and rather get a Windows dialog box, maybe videos are somehow triggering an incompatibility with the driver for your graphics card. To work around the problem, you can try to disable the use of Firefox hardware acceleration of graphics.

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

Which comes into effect after you quit and then restart Firefox.
