Created a log partition which is invisible and taking up valuable space. (El Capitan).

I've created a normal 175 GB partition through redesigned disk utility. It has been chugging along so I left it to itself, and when I came back my cell phone has been turned off. I restarted to find that my main HARD drive, which has a capacity of 500 GB, showed only the original score, Macintosh HD, click show ~ 325 f. information on the disc main hard shows he has 3 children, but I do not see the partition that I created. I tried to turn on the ole debugger using the Terminal, but it doesn't seem to work. Any help is appreciated.

There are some ideas that worked in an OS X version earlier, to remove all the

partition and not to reformat/install OS X together. This may cause a new OS x

other questions or take more time, then first try the easier method...

• OS X tips: using disk utility: deletion and resizing of Partitions:

http://pondini.org/OSX/DU4.html

This article suggests (in the old OS X) how locate/view all partitions in disk utility:

http://www.CNET.com/news/manage-all-partitions-with-disk-utility-in-OS-x/

But the second demonstrates how to use the Debug menu (via terminal?) + which is not supported in ElCapitan.

You will need to back up your files to an archive external and then to reformat the entire HARD drive

then try to reinstall the OS X. This is where a great clone would be useful, to the State

until you've tried this adventure of the partition. Would be also removed the OS X Recovery partition

When you reformat the entire disk to delete the partition. And recreated if not automatic.

It is therefore preferable to not having to actually reformat to get rid of the additional partitions, but sometimes do you.

Perhaps others who are overall this will add details where I have included no... It's

the first response at the time I started; because I'm slow, someone may have already done.

Good luck & happy computing!

  • How to create A PDF with text OCR invisible and no Unicode font incorporated

We have a code that converts TIFF (usually traveled and OCR'ed) in PDF format. Currently, I extend this code:

    1. be PDF/A compliant (or PDF/A-1b "Unicode" or PDF/A-2u).
    2. Add Unicode text 'behind' the image to make the PDF can be accessed, and

Replace the name of fancy font with that of one of the 14 standard fonts, said Courier, does not help.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find or create PDF sample files that show how to add invisible text without embedding a font. I could operate without a Unicode mapping, referring to the Courier not incorporated and using WinAnsiEncoding. However, in order to use the Unicode format, I have to add some police structures, so there's a ToUnicode mapping according to the PDF/A standard, and then I can't get rid of this warning, which of course would make it unusable PDF for our customers.

I couldn't really find in the PDF specification or the PDF/A standard what exactly "do not embed a font" meant on a technical level. I assumed that this meant "leaving aside the tag /FontFile2 and police data, to which it refers", but apparently, this isn't quite the case.

If this is not possible, I might incorporate a fake police, like empty Adobe but with (empty) glyphs that have a width, but it really shouldn't be necessary if I understand standards.

Any help or tips at least are appreciated.

But it's a required parameter with sense. Encoding is highly relevant for embedded and not embedded fonts. So it must be good, not just there... and it is not normal for a substitution font...

    Hello

Normally, the recovery on a system partition is accessible by using a F key at the start of the initial system. For the corresponding key or combination of keys, see the documentation for your system or online from the manufacturer support.

If you need a recovery media, you will need to contact the manufacturer for such. Do not use a retail disk as often, they do not contain the necessary drivers for the owner builder systems.

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

Disconnect any other (additional) internal hard drives and external USB devices.

    First run Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if one or more of your memory

Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

    Hello

Make sure that D: is not the partition recovery including the manufacturer put there to make the recovery disks from and eventually to return your computer to how you bought

You cannot combine C: and D: and their data using the Vista Disk Manager

with Vista, you will need to save the data on D: - D: delete - and then extend C: into the now unallocated space where D: was to do a 1 partition 2

    read the tutorial below

  • Remove the Dell recovery partition and create a data partition

    Hello world

Two years ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron N5110. In addition to the existing windows partition, I wanted to add a partition Ubuntu as a partition of data (NTFS). Well, I added the Ubuntu partition, but because of the Dell recovery partition (14.65 GB, used 7,69, formatted to NTFS), I had no primary partition left to create a data partition. I did not had the time to solve this problem so far.

Here you can see the different partitions. 4, 66GB there is the linux swap partition and the 18.63 is the linux partition. Of course, they are contained in an extended partition that is created during the installation of linux using GParted.

Basically, what I would do, is to remove the recovery partition. I did not throw a look inside, but I read that as it contains bootstrap information, as well as win7 boot no more if I'm deleting it. The partition is marked as 'active' (in contrast to my main windows partition of C). I guess this is a classic problem, but I couldn't find a tutorial or a satisfactory answer on this forum (I apologize if this is the case). I assume that it is not enough to define steps to activate the recovery partition and assign to the partition c active (i.e. they don't going to critical data recovery to the c partition). Furthermore, I read that repartition your drive could affect the functioning of the emergency recovery partition, is this true?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Greetings,

    Harald

Yes, sorry, I had a problem and the image has not been correctly incorporated into my message. Here it comes. Sandra means healthy, active, primary partition means that primary partition. However, you will notice that windows see the ubuntu partition is a stretch.
