  • Creative cloud will not start/connect?

I happily use my! Creating cloud apps on my Yosemite iMac running for several months. But last week, everything went haywire. Creative cloud filled my hard drive with 300 + GB of PDApp.log logfiles, make my machine useless.

Once I got the logs cleaned so my drive has free space again, I discovered that I could run no longer creative cloud. It takes 5 to 30 minutes for the icon to appear in my menu bar. When that happens, I get the "Impossible to get on the Adobe servers. Please check your firewall settings and try again in a few minutes. "error message and CC Photoshop crashes when I try to run it.

I scoured these boards and Google, etc and found a number of things to try to delete files in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/from compensation on the third entry Manager, to use the tool creative cloud cleanser to get rid of things and start over. None of this has worked.

In desperation, I reinstalled Yosemite via OS X recovery mode. It took a while, but when it was done, Voila! -Cloud creative ran very well and I could launch Photoshop. I thought I had all fixed! Everything worked.

Until this morning when I tried to restart Photoshop. And it crashed. And crashed. And crashed. So I tried to logout and log back in... for that creative cloud was once more under taking to load (I can see it in the monitor of activity even when it does not appear in my menu bar) and then does not connect. ! Photoshop always freezes. Etc. back to the drawing board.

I can't reinstall Yosemite whenever I might need to use Photoshop. Anyone out there have some conjecture as to what could be the problem? I'm running a pretty basic network configuration: router wifi at home to the modem cable, so I don't think that there are problems in network/firewall. (also, none of this has changed since this started last week).

In case anyone out there is dying to know: OS x, / tmp is a symbolic link to/private/tmp. If for some reason unknown/tmp becomes a regular directory itself, instead of a symbolic link, you get what I lived.

  • Re: Creative cloud will not start

As far as I'm concerned CC is the largest buggmonster released the public since ten years AMD video drivers.  No matter what installer who does NOT have the ability to COMPLETELY remove a previously installed version, less the preferences of the user and the data files, without that user to run a program of 'Cleansing' and manually change the names of files is an absolute Sham! That's what I expect from the first step for a new product BETA programs not a mature company like ADOBE! -We call it a CLEAN INSTALL - if they don't know what a clean install is that they pick up their phones and call NVIDIA who has had that option with each new version of the software for the past 10 years. Out of the era of the Apple II BACK ADOBE!

I tried all these things and did NEVER CC to work again. I had a tech support chat where I gave my computer to their technicians by remote twice.   Combined, they ran my computer remotely for over 4 hours and were NOT able to solve the problem. They had me finally uninstall cc and CC Photoshop and Lightroom 5 CC and install version non - CC of these two programs. I got Lightroom upgrade to ha6 but I'll have to uninstall PS and install the new version stand alone.

In order to get stand-alone CC PS version 2015 to upgrade with. I have uninstall PS CC 2014, 2015 to install. everything seems fine and I opened upwards and I'm another old but NEVER fixed cursor flashing Adobe!  the library box flashes quickly between gray and white, and my cursor flashes at the same pace.  Cannot click on any menu setting since the menus damned displays and then flash off in a fraction of a second. I am able to select the next tab in libraries so that the box is no longer flashing, but the cursor is right there and blinks and blinks and I don't have access to the menus. I can click on things fixed, but all pop-up and pull-down features are unavailable. removed and uninstalled mouse and mouse drivers and used but wacom which did not set! This is the second version of PS CC with flashing library and the first with the cursor blinking... but it will post back SIX YEARS I can find on the internet about this problem!

After months of having the * % blinking cursor I finally corrected.  In my case it was an incompatibility between the module libraries in Photoshop CC 2014 and 2015 and the App of creative cloud with my Realtek ethernet drivers.

    My solution,

I uninstalled my Driver Windows 7 PCIe Realtek GBE and installed the Windows Realtek PCIe GBE Family fixed Driver 8.1 everything, the hourglass - gone flashing, the module library flashing - gone, Creative Cloud don't not install-now installed. I was running Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) when this problem started, upgraded to Windows 10 pro (64-bit). The Windows installed a 10 CARD that slowed my Gigabit Ethernet card on a 100mbs driver, so I went down to the Windows 7 driver if the problem persisted.

I don't know if this applies only to the just the Windows 7 RealteK PCIe GBE driver or if it applies to other operating systems and different ethernet chip manufacturers, but it gives you another way to explore.
