  • Critical update for Windows 7 KB3087918

According to Belarc Advisor, the topic critical update is not installed on my computer running Windows 7 Professional SP1 which is otherwise fully updated. A search for installed updates confirms that it is absent.

Support Microsoft Search / Microsoft Answers returns three results for KB3087918 as an update for Windows 8.1 and 8.0, respectively, but nothing for Windows 7.

Belarc gets its information from MS Security Bulletins that list updates MS expects to install. In the past when one or more of them were not installed, they should have been, and I was able to find and download when Windows Update does not detect their absence (which he did, sometimes, often a day or two later).

    Please notify.

Most users install that offers Windows Update. I have no idea about the reliability of the Belarc Advisor is. Ignoring what Belarc says is unlikely to cause problems.

I greeted Windows install a critical update.  Since then, I have a program that I run at startup that does not start.  I tried to restore to a point before the update, but Windows Explorer guard stop and restart, then I can't navigate to the backup and restore Vista application.  I can't access the backup and restore in Mode safe either.  I tried to launch the Vista installation disc, to try to repair Windows, but I have the same problem with Windows Explorer (stop and restart).  Is it possible to repair Windows Explorer? or is there a solution?

  • Computer Windows XP detects not * all * critical updates or high priority

    Hello

I am and have been, problems with a computer Windows XP here at work that does not detect critical updates either Windows Update or Microsoft Update.  In fact, the only update that is currently available to me is one for Silverlight.  I also checked that no update is currently hidden.  In addition, when checking "Add/Remove Programs" when you select the check box 'Show updates', that an update installed is listed: Security Update for Windows XP (KB923786).

I should also mention that I don't get any errors whatsoever in the analysis of updates; simply, the updates are not listed as being available for me to install.  It's almost as if he thinks that I have already installed.

This computer running Windows XP SP3 and Internet Explorer 6 installed (Internet Explorer 7 or 8 is not an update available) I have not tried to install IE7 manually although I can try soon (if you think it can solve my problem).

    Here's what I've tried:
I tried to reinstall the Windows Update Agent using the command: windowsupdateagent30 - x 86 .exe /wuforce
I tried to reset the Windows Update components using the tool 'Fix It' of this article (I did not all the steps manually): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

This is the last release of my file WindowsUpdate.log last time I tried to search for updates:

As I suspected, the computer has a (very early) beta of SP3 installed. Uninstall, reboot twice, and then install Windows XP SP3 Final [1] & restart twice again.

Then go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Select CUSTOM and scan | Install all updates critical security available (only); Follow all the instructions. Subsequently, another CUSTOM scan to make sure that you have not missed any.

Tip: Do NOT install IE8 via Windows Update! Just 'hide' for now, please. (Believe me).

  • Dell Inspiron 1750, Windows 7: HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW GT10N not working after critical updates from MS

    I'm having a problem with my Player DVD - HL - DT - ST DVD +-RW GT10N.  I have a Dell Inspiron 1750, Windows 7.

It was working fine, then after 3 critical updates from MS, it stopped reading/writing on the DVD player.  The only way I can access the DVD (read or write) is to restart.  A subsequent loading of different or even the same DVD finished with the issue of not being able to recognize the DVD.

When I click on the properties of the DVD drive in Device Manager, it clocks.  However, after a reboot, the properties has worked well and said that the driver does not work properly.

I got to the period before 1st update was installed and the DVD player worked as before.  However, Ms. downloaded the same (I assume) updated critical shortly after.  Low and behold, the DVD player does not work yet.

The MS CD/DVD patch could not fix.

I also tried UpperFilters/LowerFilters regedit deletions, but it is impossible to find these entries (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}).  Thank you Osprey4 for your help continues.

I hope someone can help me.

    Thank you

  • 27 - 1110ea: Windows 7 update does not update

    Hello

I did now 2 installs fresh with the HP recovery discs and both windows update does not work. I tried different patches from microsoft that I found online in this regard and nothing works.

I don't know if it's related, but said SP1 is installed, but when I look in the installed updates it isn't here. If I try to uninstall from a command promt it says is not installed and if I try to install it from the microsoft download it says it is installed.

It makes me crazy. I was expecting it to work from a clean install, but it doesn't.

    Any help would be great.

    Hello

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.

If it says SP1 is included, it means it is included and comes with the system, so you can not unintall it - it is part of the system - built in. You will not see the updates installed because it's built, do not subsequently installed.

It is a known problem that now when you perform a clean installation of Windows 7, the installation updates will be delayed. This is due because of many things including the fact that W7 is more priority Microsoft because of new OS on the juice of the horizon: like Windows 10. Some users have reported that after the new facility it may take hours of waiting until Windows 7 poster updates are available. But don't worry - they are not that critics and you shouldn't worry so much for them.

I can offer a workaround is to:

-Windows 7 update agent be manually updated to the latest version > > https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/949104

-Download directly from MS "April 2015 battery maintenance update" and install it manually

    > > https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3020369

-Download Win 7 convenience roll update and install it manually

    > > win x 64

This update package, which combines updates dating all the way back to February 2011, is not be made available in Windows Update. If you install a Windows 7 system from scratch, you will need to go out of your way to download and install it. If you do not, Windows Update will download and install the updated way on day one by one, the slower, more tedious.

You have now all the updates of Windows 7 since its initial release until may 2016

After that, you try to install the new updates.

I hope it works for you. Let me know how it goes.

  • Error during installation of patches and critical updates

    Hello

My Service to update OR provide just 7 critical updates and patches, I have downloaded and tried to install. However, two facilities were unsuccessful andproduced error messages attached. A possible reason for these errors could have the laptop fell asleep during installation, but I'm not sure about this.

My question is how I can find and try to re - install these critical updates and patches? Update Service does not provide me a list of installed updates, nor does their status as the update of Windows. Please notify. Thank you.

Update Service stores the rest of installation programs C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\Update Service\Installers\NI_date_time. You can try to re - run the setup.exe.

If the error happens again, there should be a more general installation failure, but we can look more closely at the error code of debugging here.

After carefully installing Windows 7, Windows update tells me that I must install a critical update for the graphics card to Nvidia 9600 m GS on my Touchsmart, but every time I start the process, the download fails with the error code 80070005.
