Sought a 'TMP/TEMP' through these patches and found this entry in. 11:

14301709 IDENTIFY A DIRECTORY to WRITE INTERMEDIATE FILES RATHER WRITTEN INSECURITY TMPDIR Post Windows 2008 Server, Windows adds the session ID with the path of the Temp of the user who is deleted once the user disconnects. This causes some sub-process that is based on Windows Temp Path as an assistant of Pagelet to plant. This resolution would be to add the possibility of other nonvolatile temporary access as {LOGDIR} path location.

  • Installing Oracle 11 g RAC 2: cannot delete directory under/tmp bootstrap

    People,

Hello. I want to install Oracle 11 g RAC 2 with 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 which BONES are Oracle Linux 5.6) VMPlayer and according to the tutorial

    http://appsdbaworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/11gr2-RAC-on-Linux-56-using-VMware.html

I'm installing network infrastructure. I'm on step 7/10 (check the installation grid environment) and you get this error:

    "Free space: Rac2: / tmp '.
Cause: Could not determine the mounting point for the specified location.
Action: Check the specified location is available.
    Expected value: n/a
    "Actual value: n/a"

In order to correct the above error, I run "cluster verification utility" according to
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E14072_01/RAC.112/e10717/CVU.htm I run the following command:

    [ora11g@rac1-] $ /home_grid/runcluvfy.sh pre - crsinst - n rac1, rac2-verbose stage

    Output:
    / bin/rm: cannot remove directory ' / tmp/bootstrap ': operation not permitted
    ./runcluvfy.sh:line 99:/tmp/bootstrap/ouibootstrap.log: permission denied

The above output, we see that the bootstrap of under/tmp directory is causing the problem. The solution is to remove bootstrap directory. I run the 2 commands:

    [ora11g@rac1 tmp] $ rmdir bootstrap

    Output: Operation not permitted

    bootstrap [ora11g@rac1 tmp] $ rm - rf

Output: cannot remove bootstrap: operation not permitted.

    [ora11g@rac2 tmp] $ ls

Output: there is no directory "bootstrap".

    My questions are:

First of all, who "cannot remove bootstrap in rac1" cause/tmp in rac2 could not be determine mount point?

Secondly, all folk can help remove bootstrap directory under the directory/tmp?

    Thank you.

Change ownership and permission to your home of Oracle mount point will not fix your problems with your directory/tmp. Please see my previous response. The directory/tmp uses a little "sticky", that defines the owner of a file or a directory on the owner of the process, when it was created. You've probably run a previous attempt to install Oracle by another user instead of 'ora11g', in your example, so when you run a later installation as the user 'ora11g' he can't of course cleaning of these files. For security reasons, you cannot create a directory in / tmp, as a single user and use the other to remove it unless you're root or set access permissions. Umask will define access permissions when you create a file or a directory. The value of umask (default 0022) will be deducted from 777, causing e.g. 755 or 775 in your examples. If you need help to understand these codes, Google will be your best friend. Regarding cross access of files between nodes, make sure you have equivalence (ssh key) user installation and functioning. Cluster verification utility will also check if it works.

  • How to change the directory where the files are placed in other applications to access?

ESR running on Centos (RedHat) 5 & 6. Because of the way my system is set up, I would change where Firefox updates a file when they need to be accessed by another application (for example, a .doc file). The default is to place them in / tmp, which works for most people, but does not work in my particular installation. (Among the programs that I use to read some files are actually on another computer, but can be started automatically from the computer, I'm browsing). I need to place these files in a network directory, so that the other computer can see.

I looked into: config, but can't find anything pointing to/tmp. I hope that it is one of these "add a new line to about: config ' things that are supposed to be (from bones), but can be changed if necessary.

    Thank you
    Ted Miller

You probably can make only by changing the variable of environment TMPDIR = / tmp to point to this network drive.

You can start Firefox via a script file if you want to do this for all applications.

    #!/bin/sh

    export TMPDIR=<path to tmp directory>
    cd <path to Firefox>
    ./firefox

After much hassle I have Photoshop at work but the bridge still fails with the message

Ignoring the dubious grammar at the moment, why cares bridge where my

This is a known problem and Adobe is working on it.  The only alternative is to right-click on the bridge and choose 'run as administrator '.  This option has some security disadvantages.

  • Creating files of great Lightroom cr_sdk_*.tmp

I use Lightroom 4.1 RC2 on 64-bit Windows 7. My C: drive is an SSD and roughly 8 GB free. My catalogue and Lightroom cache are configured to live on my drive F: However, so I would not have thought that this would be a problem.

  • Home Directory DB to RAM disk

    Hello

I use 5.2 Patch 6 and one of my person SAM has send me suggestions of AM Tune, and a point that he must change the value of 'nsslapd-db-home-directory' to point to the temp directory.

I'm really confused and a little hesitant to put everything to the tmp directory. I understand that this will improve performance, but once again all put in the temp directory.

Could someone provide my all know about this?

    -John

    Hi John,.
You have nothing to do, the DS server will try to rebuild its cache in itself, but performance may be sub-optimal, until the cache gets properly completed/completed (due to the initial file system access), but once most of the Hare that happens in the cache, you should have significant performance boost.

Or alternatively before putting into production the directory server, you might 'first' the cache to have a "hot-start". There are 2 approaches that you may have in this case:

    1) after that the directory server has been / gracefully closed / and front/reboot /, you could save/copy the contents of this cache (files __db.*) on a disk and restore it to the location once restarted.
    (2) to implement a job/script "priming" (specific research, or with the help of SLAMD) to begin this cache once the server has been rebooted and just before putting it into production.

The first is easy to achieve using the script, but is not guarantee cover the case of a sudden stop of the server (for example: loss, accident, hanging, etc.). The latter is less trivial and may require a LDAP, sizing of the cache traffic analysis work, etc...

  • the .sty files are finder stop on Sierra

    Hello

I just upgraded to macOS Sierra on my MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012), and I have a problem with the Finder. After some long frustration with gel Finder, I've found that the folders containing files with extension .sty (LaTeX style file) make Finder freeze. (I was very lucky to find it). For example, if I do this in a Terminal:

    $ mkdir ~/tmp

    $ touch ~/tmp/a.sty

and then navigate to ~/tmp in Finder, Finder hangs for a few minutes showing a spinning wheel. (Initially, it seems OK, but eventually the problem comes. He was in the first when I have improved in the morning. The problem in the evening.) When I have my control back, I go back one level upwards (to my ~) and revisit ~ / tmp, just to review Finder freeze for a few minutes or more. When I change the file extension to something different ("a.s.", for example) to the Terminal (mv a.sty a.s.), the problem disappears a few moments later.

I have the same problem in the guest user account. Here again, it seems OK at first, but leaving and revisit the ~/tmp directory (containing .sty files) repeatedly makes Finder finally freeze. Again, the problem has disappeared when I change the extension to something else.

I did a lot of things so far. I checked the disc, spot of indexing, deletion of the Finder preferences, remove Finder caches, etc. Nothing helps. Deleting the files from *.sty did.

What would be the problem? Am I the only one having this problem?

If I can, I would like to avoid clean - reinstall. I have a few apps I want to not reinstall because I have to get my old mails, shelves, drawers and my old records for licenses.

Thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

QLColorCode uninstalling has resolved the problem. Very strange.

  • KB973687 - msxml3.dll msxml6.dll - services.exe uses excessive virtual memory, the performance impact on the first logon after restart

Since the installation of fix KB973687, I had several SP2 and SP3 systems exhibit behavior that makes them unusable until after the first logon is completed, which can take up to 20 minutes.   I've identified the patch (KB973687) and DLLs, that it will update the origin of the problem, but uninstalling the patch does NOT return to normal operation.

I need to understand how to upgrade these systems WindowsXP SP2 and SP3 to restore normal operation, reinstalling Windows, programs, and settings is an expensive solution.

The performance problem is caused by services.exe slowly consumes about 1.5 GB of virtual memory, and then slowly releasing.  This seems to be triggered by the first logon after restart, this connection is very slow, the screen is blank for most of it, there might be failures of allocation memory during logon.  Once complete this opening of session and memory usage returns to normal levels, recording and return to work normally as do other operations until the system is restarted.

Spent a lot of time working with SysInternals Process Explorer, trying to find what specific service might be involved, lightweight system for bare essential services with no luck.

KB973687 seems to offer only two files msxml3.dll and msxml6.dll.  Uninstalling this patch, resettlement V3 and V6 of the XML parser fail to restore normal operation.

Not all systems seem to have place still restrict the differences.  Systems that are appear to be the oldest, with Windows XP has been installed for at least a year, installed Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Looking for these forums and the Internet, I believe that many have encountered this problem, but have not is it this level of analysis, seem most attribute it to a virus, I see several start explorer.exe manually, I didn't know all the alternatives before reinstalling Windows.

Found the solution, the following has been fixed in System Cleaner of Comodo 2.2.129172.4:

"For some strange reason, after changing some settings of the system with the CSC LastGood.tmp Directoy began to constantly be read from my hard drive. This would occur up to about 90 to 99% of my memory was used and then stopped, begin to free the memory, and the system began to slowly to function normally.
I used the process explore from sysinternals to help diagnose the problem with any process other than services.exe using memory.

I used sysinterals filemonitor to see LastGood.tmp directory has been read repeatedly.
After you have uninstalled CSC the problem has been resolved. »

Even with the effort to find the solution, it was better to reinstall.  Hope this solution helps others.
