  I have two text boxes on two separate master pages, which I'm trying to join so that the text flows from the first to the second.

  I don't understand. I'm just trying to connect a text box on the "First" page to page "environment".

  (There are four master pages in this document - right (which is not used), beginning, middle and end).

  Can anyone enlighten me on what I'm doing wrong please?

  Try using Format > customize page layout and orders of disconnection to ensure that existing images are disconnected before trying the new connections.

  If you want just the stream to be first > Middle > end, why not let only their auto-connect and use the Master Page mapping to make sure that the content call the desired page layout?

  Sorry to bug all, but I searched for the answer to this for two days and found nothing.

  I recently installed CS4 Design Premium on a PC running Windows 7. When I resize an image (Image > Image size), dialog appears always the size of the Document in centimeters. Unfortunately, I am in the United States and have not yet been converted to the metric system, and it's a royal pain to change the dropdown to inches every time.

  In my "Local" file, is the only subdirectory that exists, "fr_FR." In Edition > Preferences > Interface: text Options UI: UI language there is only one available option is "English: UK. I'm sure that during the initial installation of the suite, I chose 'United States' my locale. And is there a reason to have a dropdown menu with that one choice and no way to add other (no need to reply to this one, I don't think aloud)?

  The regional settings for the main program are defined by the serial number, not necessarily of your choice of language. Shared components derive their locale from it thus and/or in part the setting of the system. This issue with installs wrongly using en_GB is quite common, though. It occurs usually when other Adobe software with components shared already was on the system and forced the installation program using the wrong language. However, short of reinstalling everything with that uninstalls Adobe After sweeping and the CS4 Clean Script, it is impossible to solve this problem.

• [CS4, JS] Text frame indefinite geometricBounds

  Hello

  I'm looking through all the paragraphs of a document for paragraphs with a specific paragraph style. When it is found, the script takes the geometric boundaries of the parent text block and uses later. However, it does not work in some documents because the geometric boundaries of blocks of text are not defined and cause an error. The error causing the documents were originally of PageMaker documents have been opened through as saved as .indd InDesign. Documents created in InDesign, run the script very well.

  Anyway, here is the part of the script that is causing problems (I tried iterate backwards and forwards, but nothing will do):

  The strange thing is, if I select a paragraph that was found by the script and run app.selection [0] .parentTextFrames [0] .geometricBounds in the console... it tells me the limits of the text block.

  I have literally no idea why he did this, but I suspect it's something to do with the fact that they used to be PageMaker files...

• AS: InDesign CS4: importing text without losing the styles

  Hello

  I try to fill with an AppleScript, a block of text that contains 4 lines of text with different styles:

  Set the contents of each paragraph. But do not forget to leave the paragraph marks themselves.

• Abandoned text Flash CS4

  I read in the "what's new" for Dreamweaver CS4 Flash text is now obsolete. Why is this done? Is there something better to take the place of the Flash text? I can't find an explanation in the help system.

• Bookmarks PDF failed, cannot connect text frames

  Using FrameMaker 10 to work, our books get their bookmarks shuffled around when convert us to PDF format. Topics in the section get jostled chapter previous, and topics of the first chapter just get dumped into level 1 with the chapter titles.

  I did some research, and the question above is usually because there are flows of separate text for the title of the chapter and the body of the text. It's true. Our chapter model a left & right page and a title page. The title page has just a stream of text "chapter title."

  I have tried to solve this problem, but immediately ran into a new problem. If I try to connect the text frame of the chapter title for the text block body either on the left or right page, I get the following error message:

  "This connection is not possible.

  You can try to connect two blocks of text which would result in a circular text stream, or you can try to connect to a stream of text of PostScript Code. »

  I looked, and the title of the chapter is not connected to anything I can say. Its text does not work anywhere else, and try to go on Page layout-> disconnect Next/Previous/the two just told me he is not connected to anything. If I look at the properties of the object to one of these blocks of text, none of them are marked as PostScript Code. I am at a loss here.

  Any ideas on how to get bookmarks that come out in the right order? We can repair the bookmarks later in Acrobat, but it is a tedious extra step that we sometimes forget. As far as I know, our model was made before the time of our current team. (none of us are really 'experts' on FrameMaker)

  FM treats the stream in the order they are created. Default FM documents already have a cast in place, in order to add the feed to the chapter title that would put after the first default one. If you try to connect the end at the beginning, i.e. to create a circular flow

  Create a new page master first with areas of text required in a single stream. Use the default text box located on the page when FM adds the new page master (usually you use the right page as your model for the first page) and shrink down to be the chapter title section, then add a new block of text to the page for the rest of the content [you now add this text frame/flow after the first]. After you add the headers and footers on the master page to check that the page layout is now visually the same. Remove the first old master page as a last step.

  You will probably have to remove the chapter title text blocks in other documents before importing the new provisions that FM will leave just these are in place and the new & old frames would end by lying on top of the other. Also copy & paste the chapter titles in the mainflow before the update so you don't lose the content.

  Hi, I would like to know how this is possible (to add numbers with the black circle to refer to an image on the text), when I copy paste I get the number I guess it's a kind of ascii?

  There are some fonts with numbers, but they have a limit on numbers.

  I would create

  1. Paragraph with your desired font, size, and white color style.
  2. Create an object with fill blach and in paragraph style select step 1 created a style.
  3. Draw a circular text frame, apply the style of the object and write the number in there.
  4. Copy the circle and then insert the tool in the desired location and paste it into the text.
  5. Lift the text by clicking the ESC key, paste it on the image.
  6. Adjust the vertical position of the text through a style of object > anchored the parameters of the framework.

• Adding tags to text in InDesign (and Acrobat Pro)

  I have difficulties real adding alternative text tags. I created a doc INDD with buttons of working capital related to the URL first in InDesign CS4. I couldn't add in CS4 alt text tags, so I then tried to add them in Acrobat X Pro, but failed. Acrobat keeps wanting the PDF as a form of class. I then installed InDesign CS6 cloud and added alt text to the buttons rollover via object export options. However, they do not have when I export to PDF.

  Can someone help me add the alt text to my buttons of reversal in my PDF interactive InDesign CS6 or Acrobat Pro after that I have to export it?

  In InDesign CS6, you just need to add descriptions to the buttons. This is done in the control panel buttons and forms:

• White on black text knockout

  I have problems with white text (converted to paths) that is placed on a black background... When you view the PDF in Illustrator (CS4), the text appears fine. When viewing in Acrobat (including printers will print of), white text disappeared. This applies only to a part of the text (FRAMES online on the photo attached.), the rest is fine.  Any ideas on what goes wrong? Should I set the trapping of knock out black? If so, how?

  Then go in the attributes Panel, and see if the White is set for a recovery if it is uncheck then overprint fill you like to knock out.

  The white overprint on black Black yeold will you need not.

  Then uncheck overprinting for text.

• Problems with textwrap in CS4

  I'm having a hard time for the skin to work how, I want only it in CS4 (running the version of Windows). I have several images I want to wrap text around, and in CS3, I have always used the feature "wrap around form the object", which would leave a nice little buffer around the object. When I try to do in CS4, the text just runs up the image, make it look like pretty bad and unreadable. I'm sure this is a simple solution, but I was not able to understand.

  I have attached a small image showing the problem. The example uses the "all about the object shape text wrap" feature.

  I think that there has been a change in the default settings for wrapper-shaped object.

  Once you have set the text wrapping, open the Panel text wrapping.

  In the past, there was a default setting of about 1 pica (or less).

  Now, the default setting is 0p.

  This would create what you see.

  You must change the text wrapping setting.

  If youy need to do much, to create an object with wrapping style, because it is attribute and set the amount of what you would like.

• How to import a PDF file with objects of the typewriter?

  I have a .pdf file saved with text created by the typewriter tool. When I import the .pdf in InDesign (I use CS4), typewriter text disappears in the InDesign document. I can't find any preferences or settings in Acrobat or InDesign which solves this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  Re-create the PDF file by distilling the PDF PostScript flattens transparency all and converts the colors (that's another flattening as the flattening of the annotations and form fields). It's a lossy operation that gives results of lower quality including seams of transparency, color issues problems and potential problems of fonts.

  There is another way, a bit simpler flatten annotations and form fields in Acrobat Pro using the preflight check mechanism. Use the profile of correction flatten annotations and form fields upstream! This works without any Javascript or other changes in the PDF file.

• Get an alpha channel to AFX export to Photoshop

  I have an image in After Effects CS4 with text top and transparent background.  I need to export it as a png (and keep the background transparency).  I tried to do that in many ways (as single image or sequence png after having reduced the work area to my unique, as well as alpha prematted or right (both with RGB 16million more)... but I get a black pole in the background.)  Tried exporting as png and photoshop file.

  Can someone explain the correct way to do this?  (The alpha channel to transfer to photoshop, so if there is a simple way to use it to mask the background (or in the part of the image that I need) I guess it would have enough.)  It was just saying that I have to make my bright green text or something in AFX and then convert to black in photoshop.

  Is this some sort of bug or am I just missed the simple way to do this?

  Yes, of course, you must select the content of the layer to be deleted. removal of the pixels in the mask itself will be it degenerates and increase the contrast. You can also apply the selection as a layer mask. Click on the respective icon KEY at the bottom of the layers palette or selection--> save the selection, with the destination, the value to This Document and a new channel (layer mask).
