• How to find Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard to download?

  Goodmorning.

  I am writing this post here as representatives of Adobe are not very helpful over the phone and I'm out of ideas. I hope that I can get more results with representatives in the forum.

  I bought the physical Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard Student and Teacher Edition, Windows 7, in the Dutch language for my son (customer 0284436485), and he went through the academic status review procedures. On April 5, 2012, Adobe sent us the confirmation of acceptance and the serial number by email.

  After it bought a new laptop a few weeks ago, he needed to reinstall the CS 5.5 but I can't find the DVD back. September 9, I called Adobe in Belgium support number, explaining and asking a download link or a new DVD of the CS5.5 or other AIDS and the representative told me that they had not a download link for the CS 5.5 there was a way for me to order a DVD of spare.

  He told me, but there were two alternatives:

  1. buy the CS6 upgrade that would validate my CS5.5!

  2. go on the web, find a copy of the CS 5.5 Dutch and activate it with my Adobe series, that might make it authentic.

  I even had these 2 points in an email support_noreply confirming my phone contacts with them. Of course, it was a lot more explicit by phone on item 2.

  I just wanted to say that, apart from the completely unnecessary discussion, I had with this representative, I find cela scandaluous that Adobe representatives provide real customers to get a bootleg copy on the web and to validate this copy with serial number Adobe. When, in saying the representative on the phone that I was not competent in the collection of software on the web and I read that many apps are "contaminated" with the virus, etc., that said, it would be a risk worth taking and that I should find out more about the web.

  Please, all I want to know is: I spent 300 + € on Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard Student and Teacher Edition, I lost the physical DVD - it can happen to anyone (we moved homes in the month of August) - and I need to reinstall the software on a new HP dv7 laptop. How to get a return to the top of the software for which I paid (Dutch CS5.5) and this without accepting the 'solution' by the Adobe representative who makes us buy the upgrade of the CS6 (another some 100 euros more). I tried the solution as described on prodesigntools but it does not work for me. Time is running out, academic years started againsince a few weeks and my son lacks a very useful and very useful tool.

  I understand that you don't trust free downloads on the internet, but still, if you want you can try to download the product from here. Probably blame Support Adobe here would not be the best thing. Adobe ships new products and then stops providing media for the oldest one from time to time and I think it's OK. Many people have tried to download from here, and they succeeded.

  I can't find the right files to my copy of CS5.5 Design Standard after that my Macbook OS had to be reinstalled.

  On the page titled "Download CS5.5 products", it has links to CS5 and CS6 but none of these installers will accept my serial number (< deleted number >).

  I have issued CS5.5 Design Standard installation.  When I click on "set - up.exe", I get the error message "could not initialize installation. "I ran the ' Adobe Creative cloud cleaning tool" under the requested help menu.  I restarted my computer and continue to receive the same error as Installer initialization failed.

  Thank your for your help.  I contacted the company I bought it from and they have installed via desktop remotely.

  I downloaded cs5.5 Design Standard to a new MacBook Pro running OS10.7. InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop are all good and running for a few weeks now. Realized that the Acrobat have not download. How can I go back and install?

  Answer: Find the dmg DesignStardard file in my download history. Opened, who opened the Adobe installer. Was able to download the previously not downloaded Acrobat X.

  I have my serial number Creative Suite Standard CS5.5 my father bought me and installed on my old iMac 4 years ago. I just got a new Macbook and I would like to download the design suite on it.   I use only a few products have, Ps, ID, and Acrobat Pro tho for the first 3, not enough to pay the monthly amounts. Is it possible that I can spend to CS6 or did I really missed the boat?

  They tell you that you can call their number of sales to buy CS6 here ( CC now includes Creative Suite Master Collection and Design Premium features )

  But you'll put with someone who will talk to ask you condescendingly why you want to buy CS6, when "Creative cloud is much better."

  If you can put up with them, perhaps they really allow you to possibly buy it.

  I own an old 3.0 license so the 5.5 was probably an upgrade. I tried to work around the problem by downloading CS 3, but the Adobe download link ends up dead just an error message.

  For customer service phone hours seem to be more, as all attempts to go it loop back to the page where you choose a product...

• Difficulty in activating CS5.5 Design Standard

  I'm really frustrated with the difficulty of activating my Creative Suite 5.5 and wonder if anyone with sufficient technical knowledge can help me.

  I bought and installed my CS5.5. around a week ago and he used every day since. However, today, I got an error message saying that Adobe can't activate my software. If I can't turn in a certain number of days, the program will stop working. After the error message, I tried to activate it via the internet, but I kept receiving the error message that the computer could not connect to the internet. When I called the hotline, I discovered that technical support was closed for the day and support is available from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 - 17:00. However, the problem is that I have no phone, or access my home computer (I had installed the CS5.5 on) during their office hours from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 - 17:00. The nature of my day job is just such as I just don't have a convenient access during the day. So in desperation, I approached the 2nd live-chat support team time to ask if there is no alternative to get technical help other than via phone call during office hours and unfortunately I was told by the agent that there is no other way to reach technical support.

  Basically, I'm stuck with my CS5.5 unchecked. and I am desperate because 1) I have some assignments to rush using the CS 2) it's too expensive a point for me just let go like that! I tried to uninstall and reinstall, disable my firewall etc, but these efforts are not successful.

  I wonder if anyone has ever faced a similar problem and how you managed to solve the problem? Is there anyone who can help me please?

  I solved the problem by doing what one user in another forum suggested. Here are the steps for anyone who may be facing the same problem that I did.

  Please go to this URL: https://activate.adobe.com/test

  If you receive a "404 error" message, then proceed as follows:

  Check the host file

  Windows 32-bit and 64-bit

  1. Locate the hosts file.
  2. Click Start, run, type "% systemroot % \system32\drivers\etc", and then click OK.
  3. Right-click the "hosts" file, and select open. Select the application Notepad open the hosts file.
  4. Save a backup of the file. Choose file > save as name the file hosts.backup, and then click OK.
  5. Find 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com and delete this entry.
  6. Save the file and close it.

• Downloaded the file 1 and 2 to reinstall CS5.5 - two files are now in the same folder, but when I try to run the .exe file, it always tells me that ' the party archive file from Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard is missing. You need all parts in the same folder

  I bought CS5 Design Standard on March 30, 2012, so I applied for the free update to CS under the program "Request your free upgrade to CS6" (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/upgrade-policy-produ ct - announcement1.html).  I received an e-mail saying that i was approved.  Under "My Adobe", he showed a receipt for the free update with an order #.  There is a link on the confirmation page to download the upgrade, but when I click on the link it said that I did not download.  I contacted cutomer service a couple of times (phone and chat) and finally I got an email with a serial number for CS6 Design Standard and it said to click on the download link on the receipt.  But now the reception who was disappeared and I cannot download anything.  I contacted the customer to new (chat) service and they said it should be in 24 hours.  It is now a week now and I contacted again (response to open support ticket) and no response today.  I thought download the free trial version and use the serial number, I had, but I can only find a download for CS6 Design Premium, not Standard.  SO, where can I get a download for CS6 Design Standard or an upgrade to CS5?  I have a serial number for Adobe, but not place the download of the program.

  I have advanced and recorded the CS6, serial number, that I got from the [email protected] e-mail address and now it shows up as a registered product.  It shows:

  ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD 6 victory June 30, 2012 

  with the serial number under.

  I looked around to see if a download link is present now, but I can always find something.  Any ideas?
