[CS5] Run a script on the open document

Is it possible to run a script automatically whenever a document is open?

Application has the "beforeOpen" event listener, which won't work, the document is not opened and Document has the "afterOpen" event listener, but which cannot be added until after the document is already open, so I'm not sure was what it serves.

Any help would be appreciated.

/Dan

.. .and document has the "afterOpen" event listener, but will not be added until after the document is already open, so I'm not sure what it serves.

You can do it-here is an example:

#targetengine "MyEngine"

var myEventListener = app.eventListeners.add("afterOpen", myDocOpen, false);

function myDocOpen(myEvent)
{
     var myDoc = app.documents[0];
    myDoc.pages.add(LocationOptions.AT_END);
}

It is important to use app.documents [0] instead of app.activeDocument when you use the afterOpen event.

This simple script adds a new page whenever a document is open. Written and tested on CS3, windows.

Kasyan

P.S. I just tested on CS5 - it works here as well, but it adds two pages instead of one for a reason any.

  • Run the Script on the Open Document event

    OK so I know about the spectacle of afterOpen and I think I understand how to use it, however, I do not understand how to open to a specific document.

    I don't want this script runs on all the documents that I opened, I would like to incorporate into a document and then run it whenever I open this document. Is this possible?

    Maybe run the script in the script label?

    Or I just put a script in the start Panel, and then create a session script that checks the name of each document open and then runs the script, if I have a match?

    Thank you

    As you chart put it in the startup scripts folder

    //startup script
    #targetengine "session"
    main();
    function main(){
        var myEventListener = app.eventListeners.add("afterOpen", excuteScriptLabel);
    }

    function excuteScriptLabel(myEvent){
              //The parent of the event is the document.
              var myDocument = myEvent.parent;
        if (myDocument.constructor.name == "Document") {
            if (myDocument.label != "")
                app.doScript(myDocument.label, ScriptLanguage.javascript);
        }
    }

    Then try this line on a document and save it, and then open the same file and a few others, you will notice that this code only run on this document:

    app.activeDocument.label = "alert (\"Yes\");";

  • AppleScript/Pages can not find the open document

    This very simple script will not work:

    Tell application "Pages".

    activate

    say the document before

    name

    tell the end

    tell the end

    All of this has to do is give the name of the opened document. It says: "cannot get document 1. Invalid index. "And, Yes, there is an open document.

    This behavior deteriorated. He worked a few weeks ago and then become increasingly more broken. It's the same thing with the numbers.

    That's happened? My Applescript is corrupt?

    It works very well here:

             tell application 'Pages' to return before the document name

    And so for this:

    say application 'Pages '.

    say front document

    name

    end say

    end say

    With the keys v 5.6.1. OS X 10.11.1 (El Cap).

    Make sure you have checked it in system preferences:

  • Running a script from the command line

    Hi all
    First of all, I'd like to say I'm just starting ORACLE 11 g with no prior experience of the database. I currently lectures once a week. However, I am stuck with a problem. I am trying to access my database of the United of the House so I can do some work, apparently I can only access it via the command prompt (which is good for me) I began by downloading a shell www.putty.org secure and I managed to connect to my database of test of the University from my laptop at home. However, I have a createHR.sql of script file that is stored in my C:\ORACLE directory which I try to access in order to load my test tables and start practicing with them.
    use command line

    SQL > C:\ORACLE\createHr and I get SP2-0310: unable to connect to the file "C:\ORACLE\create HR.sql".

    normally, this should load and run the script - as with the browser method guests will get the tables is created and the test data.

    I am now officially frustrated that I can't get any done practice, offered any help will be welcome.

    Concerning

    Claude

    These two sentences above are essential. If I had to bet a directory C:\ORACLE assumption is located locally on your laptop. However, it seems you have done a SSH connection to your server and connected to the database using SQL * more customer on the server. The client on the server has no idea or access to files on your machine.

    You must open the script on your laptop and copy / paste into your SQL SSH * more session or you will need to find a way to copy this script on the server, so you can run it.

    I hope this helps!

  • Looking to run a script when the form gets focus

    Hello all flexers out there...
    I have an application that uses a tab navigator control that is embedded inside a tab navigator control. Basically, it gives me two rows of browsers tab which is really cool. My problem, well my flex related question, is that I want to trigger a code when I select one of the tabs in the browser built-in tab control.

    I tried to use the indicator of activation in the header tag but who does not have the first time the form is opened, more it will always fire when the browser loses focus. I tried the indicator initialization, but this event only fires when the form is created first and before all the data is passed to the form. The creationComplete triggers once and it was after that the form is created the first time, but before that any data sent to it.

    Grrr... I need to initialize a few combo boxes, but I only want to run the Action Script when the form gets the focus and I need to have the data available before running the script. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance for the help!

    Thanks for the tip of Tracy, but the change event fired off so many times, I stop counting until I killed my debugging session.

    After reviewing all the events in the model itself, I finally started to recede in the code. It turned out that the show in the canvas that called the 2nd tab navigator works best.

    There is one thing about Flex that makes me just batty. The way in which things are called and the number of times where things sometimes called in Flex doesn't make much sense at all. I think we should clean up the sequence of events in Adobe Flex! I keep seeing all kinds of events fire off several times and I can't understand why. Well the show solved this problem for me!

  • Windows XP running startup scripts displays the taskbar?

    Hi all

    I have a newly installed Server 2003 domain.

    I have also 2 machines that I have connected to the domain. One of them works very well (goes on the internet, readers of network etc.).

    The other is does not work. It connects to the domain, reboot, then I log into the admin account. After that I did a gpupdate, and then restart the system.

    The problem is, when the system starts up again, it seems to start to run startup scripts, then seems to automatically connect on a called user account $ media (Media is the name of the computer).

    It displays the windows desktop and begins to run explorer.exe, with this user account (MEDIA$), with the start of the Running of scripts loading screen and does not get more.

    (Both the Pc running Windows XP Professional SP3)

    Any fix for that?

  • How to get the "Open Document" link

    Dear friends,

    I adapted a Notification of application based on the PL/SQL documents and workflow concepts.

    I created the number of applications to test. Each request to have 3 people involved say A, B, C

    One for presentation, two others for approval.

    After approval of the person (B), it will go to c. up to now, everything works fine.

    But in the list of person C of notification, the link titled 'Open Document' is missing to open the application.

    What do I need TO CONFIGURE SOMETHING.

    How to solve this problem. Any idea. Please share.

    Let me know for any clarification.

    Thank you

    Aravinda.

    Dear friends

    It is resolved.

    Just add purchase responsibility of the user to whom this 'open document link"is not visible in the notification.

    Thank you

    Aravinda.

  • How to run a script using the OMB tcl

    I'm trying to run a tcl script using the following syntax in cmd

    D:\app\Username\product\11.1.0\db_2\owb\bin\win32 > ombplus.bat c:\t.tcl

    and I get the error

    OMB01001: Not connected to the repository.

    The tcl script was basically accompanied by a tutorial and I can't continue the OWB tutorial, unless I run it first

    Departure ombplus.bat

    You can then start the script with the source command such as

    source C:/t.tcl

    Be careful with the backslash (he is not C:\t.tcl)

    You must also add a connection before your script to OWB with the OMBCONNECT

    OMBCONNECT $UserLogin/$UserPassword@$DBHostName:$DBHostPort:$ServiceName USE REPOSITORY '$RepositoryUser' USE MULTIPLE_USER_MODE

    Replace the parameters $ with your own value.

    And then your script, you can disconnect:

    OMBDISCONNECT

    Success

  • Run the Script before the opening of Outlook 2010

    We have a command to run to load an add-in in Outlook before you open it.   Us thinapp Office and it works very well but we have to find a way to run the script once when they first open Outlook.  Does anyone know a good way to do this?  I got to the point where I created a shortcut under Office tools to run the script manually but I want it to be transparent to the user.

    Basically, we need run the following command to load the add-in.

    servername AppInstall.exe

    Try using VB script. For examples, see here:

  • Run a script with the command sudo bash

    Hello

    I'm trying to run a bash script with comments script Manager package. There is a sudo command in the script and he asks me problem.

    First mistake is: sudo: Sorry, you must have a TTY to run sudo

    So I tried to run the command sudo with ssh localhost sudo t t < command > but I get a new error (and even one): tcgetattr: Inappropriate ioctl for device

    I don't know how to run as the root user is not allowed to connect.

    So, launching a vCO sudo command really possible?

    Thank you!

    Sudo problem is quite easy to solve; "edit/etc/sudoers on the endpoint point ssh and then comment or delete the line"Defaults requiretty". That should fix that right up. What command are you trying to run?
