  If your error is:

  "Setup failed to initialize. File not found. ' or 'could not initialize installation. This could be due to missing files.

  first of all, rename folder OOBE OOBE.old.

  to find the OOBE:

  Win 64 bit OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE

  Win 32 bit OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE

  Mac os: HD > library > application support of > adobe > caps

  Mac os: USER > library > application support of > adobe > OOB

  If it fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.

  If you use an installation dvd:

  Copy the contents of the drive in a desktop folder and install from this directory.

  If you are using a mac:

  1. try to create a new user account in Mac with administrator privileges.

  2. connect to the new user, navigate to Mac HD > Application > utilities > Adobe Installer folder, locate products such as Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and uninstall the

  3. navigate to the user library > Application Support > Adobe and Adobe put in the trash.

  4. navigate to Mac HD > library > Application Support > Adobe and Adobe put in the trash.

  5 restart the installation.

  If everything is applicable above fails, check your Setup logs:

  In at top right, sign in to adobe.com with your Adobe ID

  Select the category of assistance you need and once completed, you will see the blue band that still says "need help, contact us.

  A click on that and you should see options to chat/phone.

  Your license allows you to have the software enabled on both machines at any time.  If you need to have on another you would need to disable one of the two machines before you activate the new installation.

  And I would add that CS6 has reached the end of life. It will be never updated for compatibility El Capitan.

  If you are not ready to move to the creative Cloud then do not move to El Capitan or Sierra.

  I need to create animated GIFs...

  However, Photoshop, I bought Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium, doesn't seem to have menu necessary available options in the drop down box chronology.

  According to a tutorial I followed, I need access to "Create new layer for each new frame" and "Make images of Layers" in this menu drop-down. This is the page of the tutorial:

  The first page of the tutorial may come from a CC version, but so-called GIFs animated can also be created in the extended version of the CS6. The absence of these options seems to imply that I do not have the long version. But what I understand the Design & Web Premium should have the extended version of Photoshop.

  Photoshop CS6 Extended can create animated GIFs?

  If this is the case, do I need to reinstall from the CD? ... In seeking answers, I saw a reference to the 32-bit vs 64-bit installation preferences, even if I was not clear on whether that is in fact related.

  I know I'll need to upgrade to CC at some point soon enough - but in the meantime, I hope that I can understand how to access all the functions of the version of Photoshop that I've bought and paid for, if it can be used to make animated GIFs.
