CSS Horizontal Menu features

I have studied tutorials and messages of the forum and cannot find an answer, so I'm posting my question here.

I have a simple horizontal menu. It's awesome to watch. But it is not functional - mainly because there are no hyperlinks in the < li > code. But if I put hyperlinks in the < a href = "" > tags where I expected them to go, the feature does not improve.

(BTW, my page CSS using display: block and display: inline and float: left).

Here is the HTML code, coded according to the instructions in the tutorials:

< div id = "navbar" > < ul >
< li > < a href = "#" > < span id = "nav" > home </span > < /a > < /li >
< li > < a href = "#" > < span id = "nav" > playground products </span > < /a > < /li >
< li > < a href = "#" > < span id = "nav" > Gallery </span > < /a > < /li >
< li > < a href = "#" > < span id = "nav" > about us / contact us < / span > < /a > < /li > < /ul >
< / div >

I want each element of list as clickable text - to make a link to another page on the web site. I don't see any place in the previous example the hyperlink information. When I put it in a logical place (to me) as in the code below, it has still no functionality in Firefox, Opera or Chrome. by clicking on these pieces of text doesn't do anything: the cursor does not change even. However, in IE7, I get a "flickering" version of the menu feature. (In other words, the words of text clickable moving to the right and the left as the mouse passes on.) What's wrong? And where the hyperlink to go, if not bracketing the clickable text that launches the hyperlink?

< div id = "navbar" > < ul >
< li > < a href = "index.html" > < span id = "nav" > home </span > < /a > < /li > ""
< li > < a href = "products.htm" > < span id = "nav" > playground products </span > < /a > < /li > ""
< li > < a href = "gallery.htm" > < span id = "nav" > Gallery </span > < /a > < /li > ""
< li > < a href = "about.htm" > < span id = "nav" > about us / contact us < / span > < /a > < /li > < /ul > ""
< / div >

Thank you very much.

And if I want to use the text in red twice and the text marine twice, I guess that I really need to get back to classes, right?

Well Yes.

padding: 0

is exactly the same as

padding: 0px;

Padding: 0pt;

Padding: 0em;

padding: 0%;

Padding: none;

    For me I just copy CSS menu samples I love a host of examples available to me online, so I just change the variables and width so that it can adapt to my taste and Web site. I don't usually NEVER try to code a menu from scratch, as always, I messed up and do the right things, hope you can get some insight on this technique, I've proven to work for me in the design of the menus for Web sites. There are tons of resources out there available to you online, you can go and get help from GOOGLE

    How do disable you dynamic horizontal scrolling "feature"?
    its totally _ me off. Im trying to use a new program of photo manipulation, but can't zoom in and because it scrolls the work area, I need trouble! Ugh! I swear to God _... it's just ridiculous!
    Please someone tell me how to disable this "feature".

    musgoodw, the best advice I can do is just play with the settings of '' mouse. ''  Just type mouse into the start menu.
    By default, a Synaptics touchpad has a vertical scroll box to the right of the touchpad. Some versions of pilot also (default) enable the horizontal scroll down box.
    Both can be changed to enabled, amount of space used, where they are, speed of scrolling and much more in the config of Synaptics.  You would be pleasantly surprised how you can set one up.  ;)

  • horizontal menu with horizontal submenu

    I am trying to create a horizontal menu with a submenu horizontally directly underneath.  Thus, when you hover over the items in the top menu, the list of subitems appears as a horizontal menu directly below the top menu.  I was able to change the widget spry Panel tabs to do for the most part, but there must be a better way. It seems that the widget menu spry for the horizontal menu has just a drop of water to the bottom of the sub-elements in a vertical list below the top menu item.   I searched but not found the answer.  Could someone please help me with suggestions?  Thank you.

  • Another problem of horizontal menu SPRY with IE7

    I've posted this before, with no responses, but I think I narrowed down it to a problem of CSS with IE7.0 response. If you view the attached link with Firefox or Opera, the background color of menu responds correctly on the bottom of the fall. In IE7, the background color is ignored, causing the menu to be translucent and, uh, ugly. Does anyone else has had a problem with the CSS background-color in the horizontal menu css SPRY attribute does not?

    HELLLLLP! and, uh, thank you.

    I posted on the forum Spry in Adobe labs and got the answer. He resided in the z-index of the horizontal menu style. I invite you to consult the answer suggested in this forum. I tried 3 times to put a link in this response and it wrong three times. Sorry "about it.

  • How the horizontal menu widget to show 100%?

    How the horizontal menu widget to show 100%?

    Instead of making the menu 100% width create the illusion of it.

    Create a rectangle and 100% of the width, then place your menu on it and align it with the rectangle.

    Background color of the menu and the rectangle must be the same.

  • Horizontal menu moves when opening new pages

    I have seven top-level pages and have used the horizontal menu widget in my master page. When I view the site in my browser the first four pages loading without problem, but when I opened the last three pages the menu moves to the 20pixles right. If I can open say page this page menu 2 then returned to the original location as it was in the home page.

    Can anyone advise me as to why this is happening. I also tried with the last four pages left in white, and the problem persists, so I guess that the content of the page is not the cause.

    Thank you in advance

    John

    One way that it could move is if the first pages are longer than the others and scrolling side displays or disappears.

  • [Adobe Muse] How to make a horizontal menu with drop down horizontal?

    I would like to make a horizontal menu, but have drop them the low go horizontally rather than the default and the vertical level, like the model I made in photoshop. Can someone help me with this? Thank you!

    My recommendation is to watch the following video of Adobe's Terry White, explaining how to make a custom horizontal menu (use the techniques and adapt):

    If you have any questions after watching, will try my best to answer, but feel that his explanation will be much better than any I can give here in writing.

  • Horizontal menu, submenu vertical

    I use CC of Muse. How to make a horizontal menu with submenus vertical?  I looked at the screenshots various people have posted, but they do not work for me.  The vertical menu automatically makes the submenus horizontal - I want the opposite.

    In your pages subsites add them horizontally in your site map.

    As I have here in my following screenshot which will show in your horizontal menu which Untitled 5 and 6 is in fact open horizontally in the menu while the 7, 8 and 9 opens vertically.

    Hope that helps.

  • I use a horizontal menu of the widgets library. All right, except that I would have any of the drop-down list list stay open after selecting the top item... and remain open after the selection of a menu under item - so that the viewer knows where they are

    I use a horizontal menu of the widgets library. All right, except that I wish I had the all menu drop-down list stay open when you have selected the top element. And when you have selected a menu SUP item - so that the viewer knows where they are in the navigation. Who is? Thank you!

    Hello

    There is no native function to Muse to achieve this goal. However, if you host your site on Business Catalyst, you can take advantage of the functionality of breadcrumbs. He won't let the open drop-down list stay, but it will show customers on what page they are and that he can see that they have followed to reach the page. For more information, please visit the following link http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/partner/add-breadcrumbs.html
