• Faced with the simple series comms

  Hi all - summer tweak something that should be simple for hours now, so I'll ask for help...

  I have a RS485 device connected to COM5 via a USB adapter, work at 9600 baud, 0,8,1, no - fundamentals of series. I can talk to the device using the terminal software native and even using hyperterminal with the above parameters. It seems obvious, and so I thought that LabVIEW and VISA would connect without too much effort.

  So I use the following simple sequence into LabVIEW:

  -VISA set up the serial port, 9600,0,8,1, none (no error)

  -VISA defined the size of buffer, 4096 with a mask of 48 (no error)

  -Stamps of Ras VISA, the two buffers (no error)

  -VISA write, chain of command is 'PR C2\r\n", which should be echoed and return a numeric value (normally 0)

  -check the bytes to the port property; returns 12

  -VISA read, returns the string of command only, 7 bytes

  why I can't read the full buffer?

  To be honest, I thought that it will work only with a trivial series program: set-read-write. But which still generates an error. I added the size of the buffer since then do a little research and makes without error at least, if not in one of the published examples.

  I don't think it's a matter of time, since I add a lot of late, when I'm debugging, and I tried to put delays read before. The fact that the number of bytes in the buffer is 12 seems to indicate that my answer is here somewhere...

  I also tried a second reading, but it returns nothing.

  I just got the Lenovo S205 with RaLink 3090 series wifi card and had a steady decline until I downloaded the Version 3.2.1 update which was included in the link for the 309 X (X being 0 for me for my wifi card) software/drivers on RaLink site, under the Help menu.

  Go to ralinktech.com and go to Support > downloads > Windows and you will see a list of several RaLink devices which include the adapter X 309. I chose to download/install the full utility with the driver. I remember well, it may be more 28 megabytes.

  I uninstalled the RaLink wireless utility that came with the 3.2.1 pilot, but it uninstalled the driver too. Then I reinstalled and activated the option "install driver only", went into the control panel > hardware and audio > Device Manager > network adapters >

  RALink RT3090 802.11n WiFi adapter > double-click to open the properties > power management tab > uncheck "allow this computer to turn off device to save energy ', 'OK', close and restart programs.

  So when I start or wake the system from sleep, I click the Wireless connections icon in the lower right (next), bar and then click on the link that I want to connect, and then click 'Connect' While it takes 8 seconds to connect, it is worth MUCH more that to have the connection drop constantly, and I probably reboot my system only once when he didn't to reconnect out of a State of sleep.

  I had a MUCH more homogeneous behaviour since this change, and I hope it works well for you too!

  Your code is infinitely loop to read the events? The response of purchase may not be the first back, if you read you the event once after the purchase is attempted then it would make sense that the event is so lost.

  You need to code is a loop to continuously listen BPS events.

• good native resolution with screen Samsung on T61 & Quadro NVS 140 m

  I can't configure my external monitor at its native resolution of 1680 x 1050. When I do it, it cuts one side or the other with black bands.

  I am on a Thinkpad T61 with 1440 x 900.

  The Samsung 2253bw may show 1440 very well. But 1680 x 1050 native res.

  NVIDIA said that the Quadro nvs 140 m can display 1680 x 1050.

  I tried just using the Nvidia Control Panel and the Thinkpad presentation Director. If I change the resolution from the Vista Control Panel, I actually get a crisper (no scaling) display but at a small size with a black band around.

  Any suggestions?

  I am signing my AIR OSX app with Flash Builder to 'Export Release Build' 4.6 option. For this I use certificate 'Developer ID application' Apple in order to install and run my application on OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion.

  Yes, I did. I created Apple Developer ID request certificate on the Apple web site. I imported this to Keychain Access by double-clicking the .cer file downloaded. I also checked that I had installed the certificates Developer ID certification authority CA root and Apple. Then I used utility codesign of the terminal to sign all the binaries in the .app folder and the folder itself. In my case that boiled down to:

  Set my metadata in TopLink native xml and use the TopLink native interface Session I can access and execute a query named using positional parameters (parameters passed to match the? 1? 2, etc.). For this I used the method Session.executeQuery (String, class, list) for example

  Hello Giovanni,.

  Session.getQuery () returns the query if it is set on the session. If it is set on the descritor, you will need to use:
  Query DatabaseQuery = session.getDescriptor (domainClass) .getQueryManager () .getQuery (queryName);

  My answer was for positional and named parameters. A query object must have defined named parameters to this subject (IE setParameter) for the query to use. If you use JPQL via interfaces to the APP, it is done for you when the JPQL is analyzed.

  So can you give an example of the definition of the query that you have problems with?

  I'm working on a feature in escalation of privilege/connection which uses the domain user/PW and got the LDAP authentication figured out, but I was hoping to avoid just using a control of chain of labview for the entered password b/c of security (Server VI, unencrypted, etc.). I am trying to call CredUIPromptForWindowsCredentials and start the native windows login window.  It is a function in the System32\credui.dll but I can't get the right settings.  I keep getting a return value of A0 (160) and no dialog boxes.  I think it's the PCREDUI_INFO type it screwing. He needs:

• WPS54G with USB adapter series

  Hi all

  I wonder if anyone has had any experience of the present.

  I have a pretty old thermal printer that I want to make it available on our network with the WPS54G. The printer has a connection series and I tried a couple of USB adapters plugged into the serial print server, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to detect that nothing is connected (green USB not clear on the face front of the server).

  A native USB printer works fine via the print server, and I know that the cards are solid, I can print to the printer via the cards under Windows.

  However, Windows detects the card first and install a driver for it when you plug it in and I assume that it is this step that I won't be able to replicate on the print server and so it can't communicate with the printer at all.

  Someone has it conquered or I'm on a losing battle?

  Any help would be appreciated so thank you in advance if anyone can help!

  If this card is connected PC for your priner, I think you also have to install a driver on PC for this card. The adapter converts the signal set to USB, the driver converts the signal from USB to serial. But for the WPS54G this is impossible, so that is why your way does not work.

  Are these compatible screens / interchangeable?

  I searched the Forum from A Satellite and have only found information on the creation of recovery disks...

  I am fully aware that Toshiba laptops do not come out with disks of Vista, but I want to just make sure you Toshiba Satellite comes with NO records of any kind (OS, recovery of the manufacturer, etc.).

  The only reason why I ask is that someone mentioned in another forum somewhere that they don't got no disk Vista, but got the manufacturer for their Toshiba laptop recovery disk... She didn't specify a model, but I was always a little worried. Thus, no Satellite an owners, CD-ROM, or none? I'm sure that there are no drives included with this model, but want to be 100%, just in case I'm missing something and need to go back and get it.

  Toshiba laptops are always delivered only with a recovery CD! The original CD of Microsoft is not provided!

  The restore CD contains an operating system Windows, Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities.
  So, using this CD or DVD you will set the laptop to factory settings.
  This means that the whole HARD disk will be erased and the new OS will be installed.

  I m not 100% sure if this docking station can be improved with a CD/DVD burner, but you can try to contact the ASP in your country for details.

  I just read the manual but couldn't find any part to mention: is it possible to open a file of text (such as .srt, or any other format) along the movie running? You know, during the time that you connect a drive external HARD with movies that have separated from the subtitle files.
