Cursor moves on its own

Periodically, my cursor moves on its own and has been a problem for a few weeks now.

Initially, he started with the built-in cursor not only movement erratic but also stuck in place on the right side to her screen/only up and down. To try to solve this problem, I started using a USB mouse to see that the problem persisted except that I've been able to move the cursor on the screen even though it move independently (by clicking on the icons and other, however, continued to be difficult).

It feels like this question started out not the case.

Here's what I tried to solve the problem (takes the chips of another user and added on):

Change of mouse did not help (the problem persisted with USB mouse and wireless with new batteries in wireless)

* The mouse software update did not help

* Move the mouse or its sender to another USB port wireless did not help

* Restore the computer to a restore point of verified (2 weeks ago) before the problems started never did not help

* Reset did not help

* Turn off an extended display and performing a single monitor (or the other) did not help

Pointing device settings change of rather fast for its slow response seems to have it actually move slightly slower, but it has not solved the problem and the rest largely unusable a lot of the time.

* To control the cursor in safe mode (works fine)

* Done a virus scan (computer is clean)

* Made a clean boot

* Ran troubleshoot on built-in cursor and mouse USB (or came with all the problems)

* Check properties on devices and the results say that the two are "works properly."

* Uninstalled and reinstalled the program for the device

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi J Clark,

We appreciate the steps you have taken and thank you for the information provided.

It seems that the mouse works in safe mode and it could be one of the engines is at the origin of the conflict. We will analyze and identify the cause of the problem.

Which antivirus program is installed on the computer?

You can open the Task Manager and monitor all programs running in the background when the mouse movement.

Are you aware of changes to the computer in these two weeks mentioned?

I suggest you to update display drivers by visiting the computer manufacturer's website and check the results. Also install all updates through Windows Update.

  • Screen is scrolling down repeatedly and the cursor moves on its own.

The cursor is rolling along of type I.m

You do not give much information about what is really happening, but the first two points to check are the mouse and the keyboard, before looking for other hardware or software problems.

If you have another mouse and keyboard available, you can try reverse the two and restart the computer to see if the problem persists.  If not a little more information would be needed before I could give advice on the best way to solve the problem.

You're talking about the screen, scroll down and the cursor moving without the mouse - these are two separate actions.

He is not anywhere on the screen do scroll down unless you have a running program - this scrolling happens with all programs that could scroll, or simply with a certain program?

The cursor moves randomly or according to a specific orientation?  The cursor move around all the time or only in certain programs?

These problems occur all the time, or only when you do something, like click with the mouse or use the scroll wheel?

  • Sometimes my mouse cursor moves on its own. Am I being hacked?

    hacked off the coast

When you work on the computer I think sometimes there's someone else who is controlling the mouse cursor. The cursor suddenly, usually to the lower left corner past. I now sign off the computer as soon as I see what is happening. Microsoft were down line twice to investigate this "ghost", but the question remains. Changed the access code to the whole, computer, etc email accounts, but still plays "ghost". Don't like what is happening because it seems that someone else is to read and to try to control what I do or see.

    Hello

I would suggest trying a different mouse to see if the problem persists.

In addition, some optical (non-balles wheel) mice do not like certain surfaces, including the mouse pad with pictures (especially the holograms). So try different surfaces/mouse mat too.

  • Computer notebook Synaptics trackad pointer moves on its own-Looking for solution

I recently bought a new laptop Hp M6 - N010dx, and the trackpad Envy Touchsmart is already in place.
I installed the latest drivers for my pc, upgrade to 8.1 windows and twisted the sensitivity of the mouse, but I always have problems.

Sometimes the pointer will become difficult to move on the screen and then will move its own. Again, to move its own, as in, I'm not in contact with the laptop at all. It's very frustrating.
I can temporarily fix the problem or reboot my laptop or by writ put to sleep and then wake up again. However, I am looking for a permanent solution.

    Any ideas?

I decided to return the laptop to bestbuy. I found that many users have had this same problem with the same model laptop and no "solution" offered actually work (I even tried myself without result). It's really a shame because I liked this laptop apart from faulty equipment... I am considering getting the x 360, but he mixed comments as well.
This may end up being my last HP laptop that really, really bothers me because they are beautiful and affordable pcs

It's a laptop? If so, you are probably accidentally brushing your
the hand against the touchpad while typing.

  • Cursor skips on its own when typing text

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 Portable (five years) and you are using Windows Vista. While typing of text, particularly in Windows Mail (my email software), the cursor jumps all the time at different locations on the page. It became boring. My computer store says it's because I accidentally hit the touch pad, but this isn't the case. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

    Hello

Does this happen with the application, or is it limited only to Windows Live mail?

Method 1: I suggest to download and install the driver for the touchpad from the link below and check if it solves the problem:

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R165804&SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_1720&servicetag=&os=WLH&osl=en&deviceid=14029&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=17&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=17&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=223709

Method 2: You can also put the computer to boot and check if the problem persists:

  • Portege Z series - the mouse cursor moves its own

For your information on the laptop, the Antivirus is installed and updated: AVIRA and Spybot

What I tried to solve the problem:
    (1) I downloaded and installed the latest version of the pointer ALPS driver device that even so the same version was already installed. No result, same behavior
    (2) I tried with an external USB mouse, disable touchpad/pointing stick. No result, same behavior

    Suggestions, please?
    Thanks in advance

Maybe you can try to start with a Live CD/USB. If this problem occurs also with the OS Live the question is related to laptop. If not, it s a Windows problem and perhaps a recovery would solve the problem.

  • Re: Mouse cursor moving erratically and even moves its own

Hello. I hope you can help.

I have a Toshiba Satellite U500, less than a year and I have real problems with mouse cursor move where he wants, when he wants, even when my hands are away from the laptop. I ran every virus/trojan/software malware scan and there is no problem. Tapping is disabled and sensity etc. levels are low. I use Windows 7 and there is no problems until the last two days (apart from an occasional hour or two the same thing a few months ago.

Oh and I don't have an external mouse. only the Toshiba integrated one. Any ideas? He made work very difficult.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

try updating the driver for the touchpad:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

To be honest, I do not know what you suggest again that you have already scanned for viruses, disabled tapping, sensity levels. As it is the last hope to reinstall the operating system itself with a recovery disk

  • selectingitems and trackpad pointer moves its own

I was watching a video of Amazon and may have struck a couple of keys, or my hand slipped in the keys - I don't know, but pointer froze on the follow-up to the film bar at the bottom of the screen (not sure if this is relevant, or what is called in fact this bar) in all cases, the pointer froze and then began to move erratically in bursts on the screen , selection of apps, ibooks, photos, etc. and then OPEN them as if I had clicked. Literally goes haywire as if it had a life of its own. I have NEVER experienced this during the 11 years that I've had the Mac laptop. I don't know if trackpads wear out (my current MacBook Pro is a vintage 2012 and I debated update, but it was working very well.) I wonder how to clean the dust/debris under keys because I know it can be done and I was wondering if something got under the trackpad (seems pulled by the hair) but it's really another question for me to continue. Any help on trackpad possessed pointer would be appreciated. I don't see that this issue anywhere else... - Pam

Remove the bottom plate and inspect the inside.  Pay attention to the battery to see if there are signs of expansion.  If so, take it out and have a new installed.  An extended battery can affect the trackpad.

If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.

  • Move the database on its own server Vcenter 4

My current Vcenter Server 4.0 has the Vcenter Server and database SQL 2005 on the same computer. My performance is EXTREMELY slow, as in there more than 15 minutes for the client to connect, Vsphere load inventory and discover plugins until I'm able to use it. Once loaded, clicking on the servers and things within the client is very slow. So I think that by moving the database of its own machine, it will increase the performance of the vcenter server. I was looking in the vcenter admin section, and I can't find a way to 'clear' to tell him to look for the database on a different server.

Does anyone have any documentation on how to move the vcenter database to another server?
