Recovery HP DM1 / reinstall windows 7?

Ive just bought my self a DM1.

But without Windows CD & drive optical im afraid that when windows 7 crashes, I am unable to reinstall everything when I'm going to be at home.

Since there is almost no paper & digital instructions with laptop computer on reinstall windows... I have a question.

When I need to... Reinstall windows? What should do?

I already found the USB recovery Utillity. But it only works under windows it self right?

What when I'm not able to boot into Windows at all?

Hello

You created the recovery on the USB port?  If you do not, the instructions to do this are on the link below.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01867124

Once created, the USB bootable Recovery can be used if you can load Windows or not - simply insert the USB key and restart to boot from it and start the recovery process (as you would if you were using recovery discs).

Kind regards

This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?

Also, I get this message "BOOTMGR MISSING". The recovery disc will fix this problem too?
    Thanks in advance!

    > I ordered a recovery disk. This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?
    Yes. Without a doubt.

New HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?
    If so avoid any problem.

Moreover, A300 works perfectly and much better with Win7 32 bit.

Yes you can.  Your existing set of recovery disks will not only install the operating system on the new hard drive, but will also reinstall all of the original software that came with your laptop as well as re - create the Partition D of recovery on the new drive.

  • Recovery Does not reinstall Windows on HP Pavilion dv5 - 1127cl

    Hello

Recently, I tried to do a reset to factory my laptop. I used the recovery partition by pressing F11. He traveled all the HP software reinstall it but then would randomly turns off when you try to reinstall windows. I tried the process of recovery time and time again and got the same result. The recovery discs are not available for my computer as well.

My product name and number: HP Pavilion dv5 - 1127cl

    Operating system: Windows Vista 64-bit

Error message: Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, run the Setup again.

  • Satellite L20-217: product Recovery CD/DVD (reinstall Windows XP)

    Hello world

I have a Satellite L20-217 (aka PSL2XE) who is now more than three years. It's been a good camera but needs a clean reinstall of Windows XP to improve performance and stability, or possibly install a new larger hard drive. My problem is that I don't have a product recovery CD or DVD - it is be lost or has not submitted by the dealer who has also installed additional software purchase.

Plan A: I checked the backup disk Toshiba Europe site command to such https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/serial.aspx as suggested by other people in this forum online. Unfortunately my model (or particular unit) is not supported. When I enter my serial number, it gives me the message "device no way recovery can be ordered, because it's not about Toshiba Europe region, or it is too old for this service."

Plan b: I could use a different Windows XP CD to install the base operating system and to cope with the necessary drivers. I created a backup of the drivers and utilities of L20 CD, but do not have access to a vanilla Windows XP Edition family installation disc. (I tried the recovery CD for my Satellite A70 which is not recognized by the L20 at all and an XP Pro the installation CD for my other machines, but of course, the license key is not fair - the L70 is license for XP Home no Pro.)

Plan C: the L20 is still operational. Is it somehow possible to create a disc of recovery of this machine itself? I couldn't find a utility to do it on the hard drive. Some Toshiba machines are supposed to support a recovery, insider mode by holding down the button "0" when the power, but not this unit.

    The questions are:
    (1) is it possible to create a disc of recovery of this machine itself somehow?
    (2) is there another way to contact Toshiba Europe to order a CD or a DVD? (As I live in the Canada after buying L20 in Gibraltar while she lived in Europe, the cost + shipping is likely to be more that the computer is worth worth)
    (3) as a last resort, that I must try to find a bootleg XP Media CD somewhere?
    (4) other solutions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Masala

    >) it is possible to create a disc of recovery of this machine itself somehow?
No! You cannot create own recovery on this laptop drive because this option was not mentioned on this model. New laptop models which are not delivered with the recovery only supports disk a possibility to create a recovery disk.

(> 2) y at - it another way to contact Toshiba Europe to order a CD or a DVD? (As I live in the Canada after buying L20 in Gibraltar while she lived in Europe, the cost + shipping is likely to be more that the computer is worth worth)
Usually, you can order the CD from recovery of the ASP from Toshiba, but I'm not sure if the European ASP will send to the Canada. In addition, it would be possible that the recovery for this laptop disk is no longer available.
However, maybe you should contact the ASP (using European countries) in order to get more details.

(> 3) as a last resort, that I must try to find a bootleg XP Media CD somewhere?
Well, the last option would be an original Win XP disc with the right key of BONE.
After Installing Win XP boot, you can download the Win XP drivers from the Toshiba page.

    (> 4) alternatives?
I doubt, there are other solutions, either you will install the operating system using the disk Toshiba or Microsoft

  • Help required with HARD drive recovery tool and reinstall windows 8.1 recovery discs on aspire or v15

Hi guys. I am new to this and in total confusion. I bought a aspire v15 nitro preloaded with win 8.1. I've updated to win 10 but decided to decline to 8.1. Process has failed and I got the blue screen error msg and a useless piece of plastic. I had to buy a set of recovery disks (reluctanlty at a cost of £51 - yes I know stupid me). I tried to reinstall from the disc, but I suck. I have acer cntacted and they have now tell me that I have to first download and install and disk formatting tool. I am confused now totally frustrated and quietly seething. I need help, I'm outta my depth here. Can anyone provide assistance as to what HD formatting of tool to download - what should I do with it to finally lift the laptop and run again? Your help is greatly appreciated!

If you recovery media standard windows options, you can try to select "repair my computer" - Troubleshooting - Advanced Search - command prompt
Once in the command prompt type
    DiskPart
    then, type diskpart
    list disk
take note of the correct disc ID to clear
    type
    Select disk x
(where x is the ID of your disk to erase)
    type
    clean
    Type exit

If you do not have this option:

    http://www.partitionwizard.com/Partition-Wizard-bootable-CD.html
    Download the .iso file
then use a software to burn CD/DVD or USB flash drive and burn the .iso file
Once completed, put the CD/DVD/USB on your PC, boot from CD/USB (maybe you need to start under the legacy if you have the UEFI BIOS)
Press F12 on startup and choose the CD or USB
at the level of the Office
    Select your HARD drive
Right-click on the icon for your HARD drive and choose completely erase your HARD drive (it will erase any GPT or MBR at the disk), choose the first option after selecting the clear function.
Exit the wizard partition, boot from the BIOS, UEFI return of the Legacy (if you have the UEFI BIOS) and boot from media erecovery.

  • Got the error using recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7

I write this cause maybe it could be useful to someone in the same situation I was.

After the events of my Z930, I decided to reinstall my laptop to the State of Out-Of-Box. In my first time I got an error, that I didn't understand, so I did on the second attempt:

1 extract in the Bios and set the COMMAND SATA COMPATIBILITY MODE
2 erase all SSD, data, partitions, sectors... etc ALL

    The second attempt was successful!

Usually if the problem is option SATA solution should not be the BIOS option change but load SATA driver before Win7 installation begins. With SATA option enabled (no compatibility mode) HARD drive works correctly and with maximum efficiency.

Your solution is just solution and a sort of temporary solution.

  • Reinstalling windows without the recovery disks.

Hi, I have a lot of garbage on my computer and I would find none of my recovery disks to reinstall windows and wipe the whole model but as Ive moved repeatedly since the purchase of this laptop or my windows vista disk. Is anyway that I can do this without using discs or is there anywhere I can get what I need without charge?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Is there a way to recover the laptop without use of the recovery disc.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

But this procedure is not available on all Toshiba laptops. Only a new generation of portable supports this process.

  • XPS 12 / Win 8: how to boot from the recovery partition / reinstall Windows?

Messed up things on a newly purchased 12 XPS in Windows 8, and I want to boot from the recovery partition and reinstall windows.

Support online pages point by pressing F8 during startup, but this does not at all.

How can I access the recovery partition?

To access to the menu of, , press F2.

To enter the boot options menu, press F12.

Because the XPS 12 boots so fast, it is better to repeatedly press F2 or F12 after restarting the machine. During the startup process, texts for options should appear at the bottom right of the screen. If you enter Windows, you will need to restart again and press F2 or F12 until it works. However, I don't think there is an option in the BIOS to restore the computer to its factory condition. The previous post by DELL-VIKRAM M describes how to properly restore the machine to its factory state.

If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7 and the COA sticker is missing or damaged, you have three options:

    Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

    Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

    Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

  • I get the message "Windows is not genuine" after reinstalling windows

4 years ago, I bought my laptop (HP ProBook s 4310) with Windows 7 pre-installed, without any disk. A month ago, I formatted my HDD and reinstalled windows. First of all, I found my key windows (using "magical jelly bean"), then downloaded an iso of Windows 7 from Digital River, installed and used my previous key.

Now, I get this non-genuine message. Since I initially bought windows and that the seller does not gives me any drive, I think not that I did something wrong. Someone knows a solution to this problem?

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

  • HP 15-AB521TX: reinstalling Windows recovery media will remove the created partitions?

I have a HP 15-AB521TX and as usual with all laptops, it comes with C: drive.

I used a third party partition manager to create more than 3 partitions by deleting the space on the C drive, so now I have C, D (recovery), E, F and G,

But somehow now I want to reinstall windows (using the recovery backup media (flash drive)) and I wanted to know if it will remove all the extra partition I created and delivered to a single drive C? Since I have data on other players, I don't want to do.

    Thank you very much.

    bsguru

Unfortunately, the answer is YES - as the first action of the recovery feature is to reformat the entire disk to match the partition arrangement which was put there at the factory.

So, BEFORE you do this, you must migrate off the partitions and the data you want to keep or restore.

    Good luck
