  You must first select the text you want to cut or copy (by highlighting by scrolling on it with the left mouse held down).  When you do this the cut and copy options should become available (or you can press CTRL-X to cut or CTRL-C to copy).  Then go where you want and place the cursor and paste the text (or use CTRL-V).

• Highlighting of problem (cut and paste) on Word and Excel 2003

  Provided with the Sony desktop, wireless mouse worked fine until recently.  Now jumps when I try to highlight - won't hold the first characher, pass to another or simply releases.  Can sometimes, very carefully, get it to hold the string I want to point out.  Problem occurs everywhere, but especially on Word 2003 and Excel 2003.  I can't understand anything in the settings that resolves this problem.

  Thank you for your message.  First, you use an optical mouse, or you have a mouse that has the ball in the background?
  If you have an optical mouse, make sure that you are on a non-reflecting surface so that light does not reflect causing nervous behavior.
  If you have a mouse with the ball in the background, you can unscrew the support on the bottom and clean the inside of the mouse.  Dust accumulation can cause a nervous behavior.
  If none of them seem to be problems you are, you can check the sensitivity of your mouse by following the instructions below:
  Click on 'Start' > click 'Control Panel' > double-click "Mouse" > on the pointer Options tab, you can select a slower speed of the mouse.
  You can also download/install new drivers for your mouse.

• How to cut and paste the image of the body of the received email

  I'm trying to cut and paste an image included in the bottom of an email and insert it into a Word document so that you can size and print. I can highlight, cut it with Ctrl C, paste it into the document Word with Ctrl V, but the image doesn't show, although the picture frame appears when I click on the place where the photo was pasted. Framework, but empty, no image. Any thoughts?

  The problem has been resolved - to try and finally understand everything.

  If you encounter this problem, it is perhaps because, unless you know the file format of the inserted picture, programs can not figure it out for you. Place your cursor on the image, right click and save the image under a .jpeg instead of simply copying. Then work with the file .jpeg in any photo management program you use normally - or even insert it in Word.

• Photos of El Capitan do not cut and paste

  It does not try to cut and paste a picture of pictures to Keynote. Other responses it doesn't paste into a Word doc. This problem seems to have ravaged the Yosemite as well. I was not able to find a solution for Mac. Seems odd that Apple would abandon its more useful features. And Ineed to create presentations using photos stored in the Photos...

  Select the photos in Photos and export (File menu ==> export) in a folder on the desktop and use there

  You can do this for Windows as a whole (and even if you did, users could simply use a print-screen instead, limited data). But you can do it for specific applications: essential technology is Windows Rights Management Services ("RMS"). See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/technologies/rightsmgmt/default.mspx

  If you have an application that can participate in a RMS infrastructure, you can indeed set up policies to selectively allow or prevent the n-cut-paste, etc., to users and groups. or refuse to cut-and - paste altogether in this application.

  Microsoft Office is the application most common which can be plugged into RMS. Once it is all together, it is extremely effective... you really want to cut-and - paste privileged information from this juicy email or a Word document. but hell, you just can not! You also cannot transfer protected emails, etc..

  There is a public SDK, so anyone can write an application that subscribes to RMS and restrict access to the application data. However if you have a legacy application (IE, an already existing application) which you can not re-engineer, so I think you're a bit stuck. You may need to address the issue of security in a non computer perspective, such as human resources policies, etc.

  You can also take a look at the Software Restriction policies ("PRS"), a similar security Windows feature. SRP will not stop users to cut and paste, as such; but it lets you create a very controlled environment. You can stop the users do a lot of things you don't want to do. See:

  Method 1: I suggest to try the steps mentioned below and check if it helps to solve the problem.

  Step 1: Start the computer using safe mode with networking.

  (a) Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
  (b) If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the button F8 as your rebooting the computer.
  (c) you need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears.
  (d) if the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
  (e) in the display Advanced Startup Options, use the arrow keys to select the desired mode safe mode with networking option and press enter.
  (f) log your computer with an user account with administrator rights.

  A television series, I'm hoping to write for use Adobe Story, and having spent some time using the free browser version, I just went for a monthly subscription - partly to have a client of separate office and partly because I hoped that this would bring the narrative copy and pasting of the conventions in line with other programs (for example the Final draft and the word Windows (, which I largely used for many years). I've never used Ctrl-x, Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v to paste, preferring select text with the mouse or the keyboard, do a right-click copy or cut and paste then with shift-Ins (0 on the numeric keypad).

  But even in history, there is no editing functions if you select the text and then right click, and no shift-Insert work. I have to use Ctrl-x, Ctrl + c and Ctrl-v, according to the Web version. Is there a way around this? Is that going to be enabled in a future release? For now, I must say, it is difficult to see the subscription which survive in a second month - it's great to have a desktop client, but it is not easier to use than the free version.

  Sorry, but we currently do not have these two features in the editor. i.e. cut, copy and paste options in the right click menu and paste using Shift-Insert.

  I guess that Skype Toolbar messed with the Clipboard, he "said" Windows whenever items are taken into memory (Clipboard) change their plain ASCI text so it can be used to dial a number (Skype Toolbar allows you to select the phone numbers on web pages, email and so on and compose the using Skype).   You can have a degree of capability.policy.allowclipboard.sites pref, so in your case, the second line with http://www.mozilla.org will replace the first with the office.iris.ac server.
  
  If you need more than one URL, separate by spaces, but in your case, you don't need the mozilla site that is indicated as an example.

• Cut and paste tabs and "returns"?

  In an earlier version of pages, I could copy and paste tabs, as well as breaks line or "go back". I use this feature a lot then the processor who ends up going inside a spreadsheet and visca versca.

  In the most recent version of Pages, I think that cutting and pasting of the tabs is available in all simply copy the tab character and paste it into the Find/Replace dialog box. (And a shortcut of 'Option-tab' inserts a "tab" character in the Find/Replace dialog box.)

  But cut and paste newlines or line returns no longer seem to work (or fact is old keyboard shortcut 'Option-return'.  This feature has gone completely outside, or modified or?

  Anyone know?

  Just tested the latest version of the Pages.

  Option-tab peut be used in the dialog box search to search for a TAB

  I can select a tab in the text and paste it into the search box and it is as expected

  Shift + return produced a line break, and this also can be copied and pasted into the Find dialog box

  I can't locate 'Find & Replace"of carriage return anyway, page break, column etc. break section break that had Pages 09... most have disappeared when Apple introduced 5 Pages.
