I have an external drive to store pictures, music files and doc. I have an external drive for the storage of video clips and multimedia projects for bluray.

  You must ensure that there is enough space on the Windows system drive (drive C) to ensure the proper functioning.

  You can check if you can move (uninstall and reinstall) some programs in another drive and possibly move on data as well.
  You can also check the Windows temp (% RPM, variable environment % TEMP %) to see if you can clean up files there.

  You can perform a custom Setup with most programs including Firefox to specify the installation folder.

  The free space on my hard drive stop less and less even if I do not want to install anything on it. In fact I deleted the files and folders to try to increase the free space on the hard drive, but free space still less and less stops. I searched through the filesa and folders, etc, and there seems to be about 80 GB which is used by the hard drive that I can't find anywhere. I ran the software anti-virus and anti-spyware software that I also have a firewall running. However, the hard disc to stop continually complete with what I don't know. Any ideas?

  Following your advice, I installed:

  This allowed me to find all the files on my computer and better still highlighted the huge file that was causing the problem.

  The file at the root of the problem is a log file more 126 GB in size. He was hiding there in a folder on my hard drive that Explorer windows normal not to find / identify. The logfile at the origin of the problem was "pyagcore" and it seems if installed on your computer when you install the kiwee toolbar internet explore.

  I was able to delete the pyagcore file and then disabled and deleted the kiwee toolbar. Everything looks OK and I more 126 GB of hard disk space back.

  In Vista, many files can not even to administrators. Some are to protect the user from making mistakes (like many in the Windows directory and in your personal profile).  Some are points of junctionhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb968829 (VS.85) .aspx which are there for backwards compatibility and should not be modified in any way (and certainly not deleted) or you may not be able to use your programs or may even damage the system to the point where it will need to be reinstalled).  You shouldn't need special permits to delete a file if you have all the rights, but special permissions can block access and that's sometimes how it blocks even administrators.  Keep in mind that XP administrators had access more than them in Vista - blocked is not necessarily a problem, but intentionally by developers of Vista.

  However, if you're talking about files that you devriez have permission, then the following information about the ownership and permissions can help you.

  Hi rockyron59, has noted the difficulty you are facing the transfer of files. So, for your current number, take note that some files which are responsible for the backup may be damaged or missing. This could be a reason why backup getting not completed. Thus, run the System File Checker tool so that it replaces the file that was detected with compatible errors.   Download the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all your files and respective sizes. Transfer to an external HARD disk or remove files, that you no longer want on your MBP.

  Don't forget to empty the trash. Then only the space is allocated for the new data.
