4 power light on.

B. by pressing F10 at the power upward does not drop the BIOS.

C. remove the battery and replace battery change any ot the above behavior.

D. relocation of the SATA hard drive does not change any of the above behavior.

All these methods were conducted following the instructions by a HP representitive during a live chat session.  I have the session printed for reference.

HP will not commit to repair this laptop retaining the possibility to replace.  There are already dozens of hours of work in the hard drive.  At this point, the only way I will return this HP laptop is to book the hard drive because it is a value for me is $100 s or $1000 dollars.  I can't find HP a person who accepts this condition.

Portable 18 day old man.

Hours of work invested.

Incredible.

I'd be a little more understanding... but...

1. This HP laptop lasted 18 days!

2. the HP laptop, I bought before that it lasted 1 day!  He stopped by his car 3 times the first day of the box.  This one was exchanged for a gateway because it have has no available HPs to replace the bad HP laptop.

3. as far as I know, laptops HP 2 next I bought still work.  But one of before who suffered the famous HP / Nvidia GPU heat melt the problem.  I know.  I have personally converted the chip Nvidia 4 times now.  As HP don't see themselves forced to fix my laptop HP spcific.

Really really amazing.

Hard to be a loyal customer.

Buy exactly the same drive and have a technician he ghost or to make an image of the disc for you. When you get the new machine, have the ghost it back onto the new drive or simply put your player in a new. You can buy a box external usb for the other drive and make a backup.

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Crushed connection or in bulk to the display?  Just a guess, of course.  Something is loose or not making the connection properly at some point along the way.  Opening and closing of the lid are put to the test "whatever" and causing the display of snap to.

You might stop to move the lid if you want the connection stays in place - at least until you have your data backed up critics.    You could, of course, rely on an external monitor if you lose the use of the display on your portable computer.

Could be the screen itself - I think that spending would not such an effect if that was the case.

Depending on your skill level and the real root cause, you might want to take a look inside:

    Can be an easy fix...

If you do not wish to disassemble your laptop on your own - and a lot of use are not computer bits spread out on an office - you could take the laptop to the local House of reliable repair.

You want to have backed up your data before doing this - and, more important still, you may want to remove all personal and private data from the laptop before allowing anyone access it.  Make sure you have 'extra' backups of critical data - maybe for a Cloud backup and/or a USB.

  • HP 2009 m, black screen, power button / stop lights

    I have a HP 2009 Mr. Windows Vista 64-bit. 4 years.

I can turn my computer on fine, check e-mail, watch videos, etc. but then the screen will be black. The blue button lights. If I turn off and on. It will work for like 5-10 min or more, then it will be a black screen.  If I watch a video when it goes to a black screen, I can still hear play.  I hear a slight hum coming from the screen that I never heard before that happened.  Is it my desktop computer or do I need a new monitor?

    Hi NSCY,

The fastest way to isolate the problem to the screen would be, if possible, be: try the monitor on another PC or another monitor to the computer.

Check your graphics card and the power of the connections on the PC and the monitor also.

Your graphics card may also cause this problem.

    A concerned customer.

You need to make a diagnosis.

If your laptop has a VGA video port, try connecting a monitor to it.

Have you tried a full stop and restart?  Stop, remove the battery.  Hold the button for 7 seconds.  Now, without the battery, a power.  If this brings a screen, stop it again and re - install the battery and try again.

Until you can provide more specific information, no one will be able to help you.

  • Satellite A500 - screen is completely black

I got my laptop Satellite A500 for about 4 months and already there is a problem with it.

After that I had played a few MMO on it for a while so I decided to power out of the night. The next day I started my A500 and there was a completely gray screen and I waited for at least half an hour before holding the power button for 6 seconds just to restart, so when my A500 started to the top of the screen was completely black, but the power LED light was off, but the only lights which were the key commands on the Panel next to the screen and the power light to indicate that it carried out.

After several tries, the problem had been held, is anyway to fix this?

    Hi mate,

Have you plugged an external monitor? I mean without it it's hard to say what causes this problem, but I guess that he associated material s. So if the external proceedings, I think that only the internal display is the cause maybe the FL inverter?

Anyway, in both cases you need assistance from an authorized service provider. Guys can check your laptop and fix it for you. :)

I have a Satellite Pro P100-PSPAEE running Vista Ultimate. Recently, the screen started going black and white during the day. It does not seem to be asleep like nothing refreshes the screen. All I can do is hold the power button and restart the laptop. Have tried rash, the compressed air fan and have re - configure the minimum processor power management to 100%. Am still getting the problem everyone else encountered this problem and have you found a solution, I would prefer not to have to open the laptop and play with the heat sink.

Don't you think that this problem could be related to problems of overheating?

  • Re: Satellite L500-19 X - screen keeps going black

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 - 19 X and continues to go to the black screen.

When you start the computer it flashes briefly until start / Boot screen properly before going black right now. Sometimes, the image is displayed correctly for 3 or 4 minutes before also black.

If you hold down / tilt the screen under a strong light you can see a preview of the ghost of what should be displayed and if you connect an external monitor to the external monitor works fine and you can see a black ghost of what is on the external monitor on the laptop screen.

I tried to reinstall the drivers, but it had no effect.

Do you think I should replace the screen inverter Board or just reconnect the connectors screen?

Thank you very much for your advice.

    Hello

First to solve this problem, you must disassemble the laptop.
I put t know exactly the procedure step by step for the L500 series but this procedure isn't very easy disassembly and you could damage other parts.

    Back to the question.
It seems that the graphics card is OK and the problem is with lighting.
Satellite L500 was equipped with a FL inverter Board and LCD joint (no backlight).
The FL inverter controls the level of backlight screen s and I think that in your case, this part is defective.
To resolve this problem, he needed to remove and replace the s FL inverter.

  • 2015 Macbook screen unexpectedly to black discolouration

    Hello world!

My brand new Macbook 2015 (just out of the box) has this funny quirk where the screen fades to black in an unexpected way. After a bit of aggressive mice that she Wiggles wakes up upward. It's as if the machine goes in mode 'sleep', even if I'm in the middle of using it (in typing, etc.)

Is this a fault? Or is - can I enter a command that is switching off? Or she interacts with my iPhone somehow?

My last mac is 7 years old, I'm still getting used to a lot of the functionality.

I have to click on 50 Hz to 60 Hz and 60 Hz to 50 Hz and after that I can see a view.

  • Screen of 7140 black place Pro 11 where put on

    All,

I have a coming 11 Pro 7140 8Gb / 256GB and am facing a problem where the machine not turn on the screen.

The power failed when the machine was asleep/idle (click on the button side, wide screen). Now, when I try to turn on the machine, I get a buzzer to indicate that the machine is turned on, but no display. If I give the machine for 10-15 seconds, I press the windows key to get a vibration, indicating that the machine to windows loging screen - only I don't see it because the screen is always black. Incidentally I've also had this happen on my old 7130 place, but has been able to reset hard.

    So far I have tried:

Now the power button for 10 + seconds
Now the power button for 30 seconds
Holding the power and volume down (which causes the screen to cycle colors full screen: blue green red black white.) Looks like a test function)
Now power + volume (no answer)
Now power + windows key (no answer)

Following the instruction given in another thread of dell support, I also unplugged the main battery. I was not confident to disconnect the CMOS battery because the connector Disconnect method was not too clear and I was worried about damaging it.

The machine has been in charge of 5 hours - then also a full battery now.

Are there any brilliant suggestions as to what I can do next?

A few days ago that I met the same problem with my 7140.  The question was clearly linked to my dying battery keyboard.  I took the same steps that you did with no luck!  However, I am happy to say that the unit is now in place and running after STALL main battery, CMOS battery and all the cables in water under the main battery.  I also removed the SSD.  Once everything has been deleted, I pressed the power button for 60 seconds, drain current in the system and he left in the morning to the evening (about 10 hours).  I held the power button for 60 seconds, then replaced everything mentioned above.  The first start was slow, but he has been back to normal since then.  I have re-flashing the bios with the latest version just in case any data UEFI has been altered by the question, which is certainly possible, since the issue prevents even the UEFI to load correctly.

I recommend, if you use a keyboard of the battery, do not use during an attempt of the steps above.  It was clearly the problem for me, diagnostics tests run since getting my Tablet upward clearly demonstrated.  Good luck!

The screen is all black with white flashes when I turn it on. Is it a broken screen / digitizer or would it be a hardware problem? This also happened to me a months I did a factory reset. I suspect a hardware problem. But try:
