• XP system files get corrupted frequently when access to the content of a Vista system

  I don't know if it's my specific machine or if there is problem of Vista. I have several machines. One is an XP box when I use as a server to store the data. I have another box of Vista that I use as a workstation. I map a folder on the server and access the files on the Vista box. Once in a while, I have a few corrupted files and they will not be recovered. When I do a scan of the drive, it says something about the corrupt header and is deleted. I have another XP box as access to other folders on the server with the same method of mapping, but I never see the problem on the XP machine.

  Could it be caused by differences in system between Vista and XP? Do I need to get a system Vista or Windows Server to back up and share files as indicated above?

  If someone knows the answer, please shred some light.

• Messages from local files get corrupted when files are moved to different location

  I have several local folders with thousands of messages. Normally I store them on a network mapped to my setup from local folder in Thunderbird driver is similar to Z:\emails.
  I needed to move the folders the to my computer and what I did was copy the whole "e-mail" from my network location and reconfigured Thunderbird folder local config to C:\emails - basically the same as before, but on a local disk. Thunderbird restarted as requested by the application.
  (I should mention that I did this exact procedure before (but not recently) and it worked very well.)
  In any case, when I did I saw all my files them however when I tried to access a Thunderbird folder run "rebuild index...". "automatically ends in that all the messages in my local folder are marked as"unread"and they have no header - no subject, sender or people in cc, no attachments. If I try to see one of the emails I can see the content of the email (the writing part anyway) and instead of the normal header, I see the technical information from header that looks like:

  X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000

  X-Mozilla-keys:

  follow-up by "send - (for example" muder [(' socket ' unix)] ")", "Received", "Scanned" 'certificate', authentication and other technical information.

  Running 31.0 Thunderbird on W7 Pro x 64. As I already mentioned that I did the above procedure several times before, but not recently and since then I updated Thinderbird at least a couple of times so I guess that the problem is caused by something in the newer versions.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  I found the problem today and it has nothing to do with the Mozilla software. It was a network problem, apparently the network location I put my local folder was not listing all the files by FTP wdselm so when I copied my archive locally I was missing like 30 000 + wdselm files.
  When I realized that I copied all the files via samba and now I can see everything.

• I get corrupted files indexing whenever I have access directly to the files on my system.

  I installed Windows 7 on a partition of a raid 0 with Windows XP on a second partition as a dual boot. The installer went well and all the drivers seem to work well. It seems anytime access to files via windows Explorer, my computer, etc., the indexing of files get corrupted. The system detects corruption and upon reboot it travels the disk repair utilities and deletes several files indexing, that it says are corrupt and the cycle goes round. I disabled the indexing on all partitions file and the problem got better but I still occasionally run the disc scan and correct indexing errors more. Everyone knows about this problem?

  Thanks for the reply on the community forum.

  Have you run any disk hard diagnosis tools that your hardware vendor can provide?  Initially, it sounds like there may be some bad sectors on the disks themselves hard.  If your system is under warranty, you may contact your provider and walk through a test of health with them.  If this is not the case, they have a tool on the site to help you with this.

  Don't forget a RAID 0 provides no redundancy so if any disk fails, without a State of full system / or all of the files you want to back up you are in danger of losing everything.  I want to make sure it is before much more is done, please make a good backup of all the data that you consider to be important for you on this system.

  In addition, if the material is not corrupted.  Check if the table that you created is corrupt.  Errors that you are declaring seem to indicate somewhere in this - table of data or hardware is damaged.  If chkdsk runs and can't find any error then it would be not significant to this procedure, but chkdsk running and to find errors, this is what is worrying.

  After checking if the material and the table are healthy, start in a clean boot state.

  Step 1: Perform a clean boot - this comes from an article in Windows Vista, however, the procedure is the same.  Don't forget to follow step 7 of this article, after the troubleshooting steps are made - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note if the computer is connected to a network, the network may be policy settings prevent you from following these steps. After you restart your computer follow these Rummy to run chkdsk.  This should stop the procedure was running and bringing only to run in your previous post.  Run chkdsk until more no error is detected.  Then the run once more to verify it shows always 0 errors.

If you still experience the problem, and all the steps listed above have been verified, run a tool to remove malware and VIRUS SCAN on all partitions in your operating system.  Check that there is no software of thugs on the system.

  I have problems when I shoot in raw + jpeg.  It seems that the raw files get corrupted.  I shot raw without a problem.  It's only when I shoot in raw + jpeg.  Raw files will not appear in Photoshop elements.  I installed the Canon software and could see all the raw files; However, I noticed that when I tried to post some full screen they would not show.  I also noticed that these block-ish look raw files.  They appear more digital research.   Is there a specail required in RAW + jpeg map?  I formatted ones I have before their use.

  Thank you all for watching my post.  I shoot with a 60 d using Photoshop Elements 10.  Finally, I called Canon tech support and found out it was the card reader that was causing problems.  When I used another card reader, I was able to transfer the Jpeg and raw files.  They advised me to connect the camara to the computer to transfer files.  I learned to use a card reader and have for years.  It was the first time, it caused me problems.

• DriverStore\FileRepository files get damaged.

  I have a very irritating problem with my 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate installation. The problem arises when I need to install a new device/updated drivers etc. and I can't find the root cause.

  The problem is that the files that are copied to the \Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository during the installation of the driver are sometimes corrupt: for example, if you open an INF file, it is full of garbage. This can happen right away during the installation of the driver or at the next reboot. Of course, Windows complains so the next time he's trying to (re) install the drivers for this device.

  Usually, I can manually copy the files from the directory/correspondents of another installation of 64-bit and the problem recurs not until I use the installer of the device - if I use the Device Manager and point it in the right direction (so that the files are not reinstalled) then it's OK.

  Did you try a clean boot?  In this way, you can disable everything and try to install just the driver you need etc.

• My files on the hard drive are getting corrupted?

  I use the model of MacBook Air 2013 Yosemite running. I have a Seagate BackPlus 1 TB drive to NTFS. And I use Tuxers NTFS on my Mac to read and write files from NTFS devices. Lately, I'm sloly from knowledge that my files on the hard drive are getting corrupted. When I try to open any folder I blocks until I have remove my hard drive. I lost some files like this. Now, they are completely inaccessilble. The big sone files show even ehen 0 bytes, they are around a GB or something. I start out freak because all my data is in this hard drive. 1 TB of data. Its my life is locked in it.

  Probably not. The problem you are experiencing is almost certainly that the drive itself has failed. It could have also been caused by third party software that you use to support a formatted NTFS volume. Isolate the cause to one or the other is probably not an effort worth it, because the files themselves are probably already damaged and unusable. In this case the only alternative to certain to succeed is to restore from a backup.

  As you know the Mac FAT32 and ExFAT supports and can read, but not write - formatted NTFS volume. For this reason, if you ask the Windows compatibility, you must select ExFAT.

  You could try using the third-party data recovery software, even if success is not guaranteed. I can offer no specific product recommendations.

  OK, so I have windows XP I am trying to install on my acer aspire 5100. Its an old copy that came with another computer. All I'm trying to do is to clean the computer clean and start over. Installation was successful, but when I try to install SP1a I get a message saying that the file is corrupted. I can't connect to the internet of him because the surrent version doesn't support WPA2. So im downloading on an external HD and try to run it from my computer. When you try to install SP2, it says that the file is not a valid Win32 application.   Again, your best option is to order a set of Acer recovery disks.

  If you insist on doing things the way hard, then check first that download, you have to SP2 (you don't need SP1a because it is part of the SP2) is correct - check the hash of the file downloaded against one published (where you downloaded of?)

  If the hash is correct and then try running SFC/scannow from a command prompt - it may work, depending on how the software manufacturer set up the drive, but it is preferable to use in conjunction with a good OS disc, rather than the recovery disk.

  I export a file of AI a *.png or another format of file every time something happens with the preferences file to HAVE. After you export the metrics are changed: the program to change the interpretation of the decimal mark und mark thousands. For example 3, 0mm are after an export interpreted as 3,000 mm. When farm now I restart, I get the message that the preferences file is corrupted.

  Print > save as PDF - use an excerpt (part of Mac OS X), so Adobe Reader should have no effect on that at all.

  As for the error "file corrupted", simply uninstall the Reader app will not affect it. Follow these steps:

  Mac/HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins

  

  Trash the files AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

  Mac HD/Applications

  

  Trash the application Adobe Reader

  [user] / Library/Preferences

  

  Trash the com.adobe.Reader.plist file

  To access the [user] / Library, hold down the 'Option' and click on 'Go' in the FInder menu.

  Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe

  

  Trash the drive (full record)

  Empty the trash.
