  • Prevent or stop the attack without signature or signature disabled

    Hi IPS Expert,.

Our IPS is always set as based signature and anomaly detection is not enabled.

Is there a guideline that you can recommend to stop/prevent the attack without signature or signature is disabled.

I understand that if the signature is not enabled, it will also create event or alert.

This means that we will not have any idea when to stop.

    Kind regards

    Jhun-

There are several reasons for which a signature can be disabled by default, but usually they are not active for a good reason.

Signatures have a natural life span, they are created, tuned to detect variants of the vulnerability / initial attack. Later in their lives, once that vulnerability has been mostly fixed or patched, they can be disabled. Once they become rather old to have little use for all they retired.

Other reasons a signature can be disabled, but that signature translates into a high rate of false positives. If you have someone perform analysis on the events that generates your IPS, you will waste their time and their talent with no productive events. It is the most common reason that a signature is disabled in an active sensor.

The last reason, maybe you want a signature (or a family of signatures) disabled, it is that they do not violate security policy you. If your organization allows peer-to-peer file sharing they that you wouldn't need signatures to stop this activity.

  • Synchronize with the device without included folders?

How can I sync my music to an old Sylvania 4 GB device without going through files on my device?
I want just the music.  Of sorting is not good and my player will sort music but only one folder at a time.
It makes me come back in a selection. What hassle.

It is not possible to customize the settings for synchronization in this way.

Hello. Debug files are provided with BlackBerry simulators, so you can install a BlackBerry Simulator that corresponds to your version of BlackBerry device software.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Desktop Manager does not recognize the device without administrator privileges

Hello. My "BOLD" BB works fine at home with 4.6 DM. However, at work DM detects that the device is plugged when I get with administrative privileges (Windows XP Pro, SP2). When I am denied the additional privileges DM cannot detect the BB.

DM has been intalled under administrator privileges, but I'm not allowed with this privilege permanently.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

It seems that when DM has been installed, it has not been installed "for all users".  Maybe uninstall and when it is reinstalled, make sure that the option "for all users" is checked (insteald "only for this user").

I wonder if there's a way to test an application on a BlackBerry device, which is not enabled by the carrier / does not contain a valid SIM card?

  • Turn on the Z3 without power button?

    Good afternoon!

The power button no longer works derepente, after a status quo a battery to zero, Getting Off to the phone, and I'm managing to connect.

He has some sort of connection to the device without the power button?

    @Alexandre2011

You can't do it from your device as alexdon says, but you can with a computer. You must download and install Flasthool in your PC. Start at Flastool, then connect your phone in Fastboot mode (hold button volume up when connecting by USB cable). If you do it right then Flashtool will confirm the connection. Now press the flash button, and then select fastboot mode you will find device reboot system. It would be wise to go to a service center to obtain compensation.

  • On the tests of the device - should BB be activated or unlocked?

I know it's a fundamental issue, but we seek to test our apps on multiple devices in the most advantageous solution.  Applications require no gps or data connection.

If you buy a Blackberry to opportunity (of an individual, i.e. from Ebay or Craigs list), must it be unlocked or do you need to activate it in order to load applications from your computer using the USB key?  Can you simply delete and reinstall the OS and be good to go?

I know that Verizon doesn't require sim cards, but you can use the device without any connection?  How about is AT & T - possible to use the device without a sim card?

    Thank you.

Yes, for example I have a 9700 and 9800, or who have a SIM card and they have not been saved on the network, but since both have WiFi, I can download OTA aspects and application testing - for example, GPS connectivity requires no network connectivity. IIRC, I got hack the 9700 with a full special book to get the browser via WiFi connectivity, but the solution is 'out there '.

PS both are unblocked, but I don't think that counts.

  • Deploy on the device: no root list appropriate?

I deployed the application several times to the device without a problem and all of a sudden (without changing the code!) I get the following when you start the application error message.

Deployment jobs, just start fails due to:

"Eception Exception: invalid path name." Path does not contains a list of appropriate root. See class FileSystemRegistry for more details. »

What this mean and how can I solve this problem?

I had the same error ones and simply redeployed on the phone and it worked, but now it doesn't...

    Thank you

What do you see on the device when you choose 'Media', then its menu allows you to select Explorer?  Don't you see the SD card?

  • problem with debugging the code

IAM using JDE 4.6. I used to debug the code until yesterday. But suddenly, I couldn't able to debug the code. When I insert a debugger, it does'nt stop there during execution. If I try inserting the debugger during execution, an error pops up "no executable code to the selected line. Help, please.

What happens to me when I am debugging the device on the Sim Card and the code for the device or the Sim Card does not exactly match the JDE.  Recompilation and the commissioning the device or the Sim Card with the new code usually fixes it.  Give it a try.

  • The SX20 language setting cannot be saved after restarting the device.

    Hello world

Anyone encountered below the question before?

I have a SX 20 with the TC7.1.4 software, when I change the default language to another, it will work, but after restarting, the automatic restore of the default language. I have tried the factory reset, but this isn't a job.

Can someone help me? Thanks in advance!

    Billy

How did did you deploy the device (CUCM, VCS, TMS,...)?

Have you tried to reboot the device without the network that is attached to it?

I wonder if CUCM or TMS reset your language, have you checked the parameters / models here?

What languages do you speak? Have you tried to update to TC7.3?

  • Password MS Surface has been lost/changed and now can not access the device.

My wife recently got a tablet of Ms Surface.  Initially, she set his password and was able to use the device without problem.  However, after 2 days of used light, the device does not recognize the password and don't let her diary.  How can solve us this problem so that it can reset his password and access?

Mario - Sorry for my delay in responding, but I need to retrieve the response that we had found.

Surface of my wife would not accept his password and if it could not connect to use most of the suggested solutions to 'reset' a password.  We had to do a complete Factory reset by following the following steps (that I found on the Web, and successful):

The only way to start a complete RESET without signing in Windows is to stop start Windows handle once or twice to get "Automatic Windows repair" to start, as follows:

    1. turn off the device in now the power button for 6-10 seconds

    2. press the power button to wake it up.

    3. once the Surface Logo appears, wait for the indirect "dots" approach to appear and then press and hold the power button for 6-10 seconds to turn the unit off again.

    4. Repeat step 2 & 3 until the Surface Logo appears with the words in saying "prepare auto repair.

    5 recovery Mode turns on.

    6. in the BITLOCKER screen, press "skip this drive".

    7. press on 'Advanced Options '.

    8. press on "Troubleshoot".

    9. press "reset".

10 tap... "Just remove my files.

11 reset process will take about 20-30 minutes - and all DATA WILL BE REMOVED FROM the DEVICE.

When the "reset" process is complete, the OOBE/Start Up Wizard must begin and the customer can complete the installation of their Surface device.

Please note that we have used this process because
    (1) we could not connect you to the Surface unit AND
    (2) because we had no personal data to save.  If you have any personal data that you don't want to lose, you will need to find another way to reset the Surface.

I hope this helps.  He has worked for our situation and the Surface continued to operate perfectly since.

  • Debugging application on the device

    Hi people,

I have 3 Questions for you:

I have a weird on my application error, when I run it on the device of BB, but it's not when I do it on the emulator, I try debugging on the device (right click on the tree to approx. eclipse-> Debug as-> Blackberry device) then I get an error message indicating that the application must be signed.

    (1) I need I sign the application before debugging on the device?

    (2) I will pay the fees for signature keys. These keys are useful for all classes, signed? I mean, when I get the keys can I use any class signed?

    (3) which means that the PIN on the signed registration key?

    Thank you.

    Bruno.

Yes, your application must be signed for debugging on the device.

When you get the keys, you can use them to sign all your apps BB, as many times as you want.  Yes, they are good for all classes.

The PIN in the registration form is a number YOU provide - make sure you save the number one safe place, that you will need when you get the key in order to activate them.
