Default profile

Hello, I'm working on the set up a small laboratory for a school and I would like some advice or suggestions. First of all, I noticed applications such as office and settings are stored in general not. BTW, I'm going to us using floating desktop non-persistent. I noticed that when I log in the variable Office some request of initials such as Microsoft office applications, etc. Office actually ask you to re-register because it detects that it is on another machine. I wonder if everyone is using view as such, and if they could give some tips or best practices. I'm also looking for a way to disconnect the user if idle for a certain period of time, and after a game fixed time if users not machines of pork. I think I could probably create a task, or something for this, any advice on what part is appreciated as well. Thank you

I work with a fairly large deployment of VDI desktops for a school district and we have a lot of applications that need removal of the "first release" dialogues and license agreements.  Solutions for these can be different for each piece of software.  I remove the first dialogue running MS Office via Group Policy.  Get the ADM or ADMX file for your version of Office and import it into your GPOS and then use the appropriate setting to remove dialogue.  If for any reason you don't not want to use Group Policy to control these things (don't know why you wouldn't), you will still find that the registry key is associated with the policy setting and change the default profile for relative image or something.

As for your activation problems, my advice is to just start searching the Internet.  There will be many people faced with the same question.  We use a KMS server, so it manages activation for me.  Here is a link to help you get started, which can help...

Office 2010 were not turned on after sysprep in VDI

For the automatic disconnection after a period of inactivity...

I actually did this thing just now with AutoIt script.  If you are not familiar with AutoIt, I suggest you check out it.  Tasks of scripts like this is very easy.  If you get it, download it the main package of AutoIt, then also the SciTE editor and tools.  They are all available on their main website.  You can use the _Timer_GetIdleTime() to track how long the user is inactive.  I tried to find my script to give you an example, but I can't find right now.  There may be an easier way, but I just create a small script and has placed as a startup item.  It would automatically disconnect the user after reaching a certain time of inactivity as.

Do not rename a profile folder.
It seems that there is a problem with the profiles.ini.

    See:

This is usually caused by a problem with the file profiles.ini and the profile marked as the default value = 1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.

    • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
      C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

You can use one of them to make Firefox/reuse to create a new default profile:

    According

The only factor would prevent her to appear if I do not use the default profile, which is what I currently have, and it's the only profile I.

So... what could be preventing it from appearing?

Of course, you can always use the Profile Manager and create a new profile if that's your only intention and manually copy files to the new profile folder.

I get conflicting information on how to create a generic profile to use throughout my organization. Using the Profile Manager is not relevant to my situation.
I tried placing files/folders in the directory "Default\Profile", "Browser\Default\Profile" directory, etc, and nothing is never copied into a new profile.

  • The Profile Manager shows that my new profile. How do my default profile?

I made a new profile to use exclusively with an alternate version of Firefox. My regular version has accidentally opened this new profile, so I tried to use the Profile Manager to set it as default. However, the Profile Manager is only show my new profile. / AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles shows that I have always my fault and my new profile. Put Pei 'default' in the line just target opens the Profile Manager. How to get back to my default profile or if it will appear in the Profile Manager?

When a profile is not displayed in the Profile Manager, then you can register for this profile using Profile Manager to create a new profile.
You can click on the button "Choose a folder" to make Firefox recognizes and uses an already existing profile.

It is best to create a shortcut on the desktop that selects a specific profile (PEI "profile_name") to avoid opening a profile with a bad version of Firefox.

Be sure to select the profile in the browser by default in the Profile Manager, for that is used when you click on a link in an external program.

You can use the - No.-remote command line switch to open another instance of Firefox with its own profile and run multiple instances of Firefox at the same time.

  • Why my computer is passed to the default profile?

OK... my computer froze and I stopped him on the surge protector and when I turned on my computer and logged my admin account is the default profile. (I have 2 users) I talked to a friend who is a tech support person and has been following the instructions was a system restore but it did not help the night before that my mother had to do a system restore and it worked, but now I can't get any of the programs I use all I have a program that I use and it deleted it...

Sometimes, your profile may get damaged by things like not to do a clean shutdown. Maybe what you feel when you say your computer has frozen. Programs could not close properly and always have a handle open to the registry so, it corrupted your profile.

You can use the link below to fix a corrupted for Windows 7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile user profile

You may need to reinstall the programs that may have been corrupted as you using the original media.

This will help you solve your problem. I suggest you make a full backup of your system in case you are still having this kind of problem.

  • Copy the user default profile problem profile

I am trying to copy a user profile to the default profile for all users who log on will have the same parameters as the user.
I used the built in tool copy of profile under System Properties > advanced > settings...
For all copies fine except some program registry keys still point to the original profile rather than the newly created on logon profile.  This seems to work without problems under XP but in Vista it fails every time.
Is there a new way to manage default profiles, that I don't know?

    Thank you

    Kleenex82,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

CopyProfile Specifies if the default user usually stored under C:\Users\Default profile is replaced with the profile of the currently logged in user. You can use this parameter to copy the settings of user profile in all user accounts created on the destination computer.

Use the following steps to define custom user profiles:

Connect you as the user whose profile you can customize (for example, the built-in Administrator account).

Customize the settings of the user profile of your choice.

    Set the CopyProfile to true.

Run the command sysprep / generalize to copy the custom default user profile user profile settings.

All subsequent user accounts created will have the customizations that you set. For more information about Sysprep, see the Sysprep technical reference in the Kit OPK (Windows OPK) user's Guide.

This setting does not copy the profile of the built-in Administrator, unless the built-in administrator is the currently logged-on user.

  • Is it possible to fix a corrupted by default profile

After you fix a corrupted profile, I noticed that most of my programs to "all programs" was missing, but they still exist in program files/program (x 86).  I decided to save my information and the profile to remove completely.  I let the system to create a temporary profile, but he has always had the same problem.  I created a new profile has always had the same problem.  I came to the conclusion that the default profile on the system is corrupt, and I'm at a loss to know what to do.  As a last ditch effort, I copied the last known copy of my regback registry files with no luck.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  Any ideas on how to solve the problem at hand would be very appreciated.

If you have used the methods in this last link and they don't work there is not much else
You can do it from your registry database has changed. Recreate these changes would be

Not sure I will try this in your case, but it might work if the backups

  • Change the default profile for networks not identified in the register.

Hi, I recently installed a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. Recently, I tried to share files on a network computer to computer without router. I ran into problems with this, however, because Windows will just recognized here a network not identified, set its profile to the public and turn off sharing. I am aware that the default profile is editable through the local security policy editor, but being on the House, I am unable to access it, so my question is this:

Is there a way to change settings of network profile for networks unidentified somehow outside the local security policy editor? (via the registry)?

    Hi Konaa,

    1. Click Start, type Regedit

    2. find hklm:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    3. find your network card adapter and create a dword value named "* NdisDeviceType" and change the value between 0 and 1 and enable/disable network cards.

    You can also try this:

    1. the Registry Editor open, if you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.

    3. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

    4. in the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle click 5.right, and then click on edit.

    6. in the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

    7. close the registry editor.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

  • Question of Save as default profile for this monitor

    Hello

    My English is bad.

I have Windows 7-64, PC, intel AMD i5, 12 G of Ram, graphics card gpu Nvidia quadro K600, X-Rite DisplayPro, i1Profilor software calibration device vs. 1.5.4.

Color management Panel, tab device, verified my settings for this device box, use Windows display calibration boxing verified and gry as she is meant to be etc.

Work in my user acount everthing was fine until suddenly, when I need to use a new profile for my monitor in my session and want to set as default for this device profile by clicking on the button, I get the message "incorrect parameter". With the button Add, I add a profile already installed by windows, for example sRGB together IEC61996 - 2.1 and tryto it by default with the button "use as default profile for this device", the same message. The only way to assign a default is to delete the real profile designated as default color management system to the next on the list "by default".

If I change to a different user on the same PC account, everything works fine for this user, but not on mine. When I click on the button "set default profile" is OK.

I'm trying to uninstall i1profiler and X-Rite and reinstall, twice, nothing has changed.

I tried to chat with a technician for microsoft, and he only referred me to the help on profiling and Calibration page help in microsoft. I know this page by heart and there is no response he solve my problem. He didn't know what to do!

    Any help?

    Hello curves,

Please keep us informed about the issue.

I understand that the account on which you are facing problem is account owner who has administrator privileges. So I suggest to create a new administrator user account and check the status.

This is a diagnostic stage, if everything works well in the new user profile it means there is a corruption in the profile owner.

You can also visit the below mentioned link and check if it helps.

  • How to customize the default profile Win7

    Hello

I was hoping someone could help me; I'm trying to customize my Windows 7 default profile.  The way I used to do in the past with WinXP was to:

    1. Create a local user account that have no administrator rights
    2. With this local user logon and tweak the desktop and applications like I wanted
    3. Reboot and a map than the machines of local disk to another computer
    4. Make a copy of the original default profile and name it "Profile by default (Original)"
    5. Copy the contents of the local user profile account I logged in earlier and paste it into the default user profile

It worked like a charm and all connected users subsequently received the twisted user profile that I created.  With Windows 7, I use a lot of permission issues (even if I am logged in as a domain administrator or a Local administrator).  Also, I have granted local administrator rights 'Owner' on the default profile and it is still impossible to copy.  Unfortunately, I do not have a specific error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated that makes me crazy.  It's something that I used to be able to do so simply with XP.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob
