  Windows Security Essentials (MSE) is supposed to close Windows defender.

  WSE has his own Defender. To have 2 defenders running will create conflicts.
  What happening IS normal. You have no problem.

  Windows Defender features are included in MSE, defender of loading would be redundant.

  Windows Defender antispyware =

  MSE is antivirus + antispyware.

  Then think about MSE as Windows Defender with more added (which is). So MSE stops
  Windows Defender from loading.

  You can make sure that MSE is running or re - install necessary.

  If there is a virus on your system, you will need to clean it up before starting the Defender, the virus has probably disabled it. Go to Malwarebytes.org and download the installation of the free version and update the program and then run a full scan of the system. This should get your system clean unless the virus also disables Malware bytes. I would like to know if you can install and run Malware bytes.

  When I try to turn on the windows Security Center by clicking on turin on, I get "the Security Center cannot be started."
