  Hi someone can help me. My PC recently had a virus that currupted Lightroom. The virus has been removed, but Lightroom remains corrupted. When I try and open Lightroom, I get a message box that States that another version of Lightroom is open in the background - which is not, and the meesage plans to close the existing version that I can't do.   Try-

  1. use the file Explorer to go to the folder where your catalog exists.

  2 delete a single file that ends with the file extension "" lock ".

  3. restart Lightroom.

  You must remove the preview for your Lightroom Catalog Cache.

  It is located in the same folder as the catalog in Lightroom. The name of the cache an extract ends with Previews.LRDATA and should be deleted. Not to be confused with *. LRCAT, which should not be deleted. Here is a picture of what it is named as default Lightroom5catalogPreviews.Lrdata.

  Location /Pictures/Lightroom on Mac and my Pictures\Lightroom on Windows Pictures/Lightroom on MAC

  Delete this folder and restart Lightroom

  You have a plan of photography which includes Photoshop and Lightroom. Replacement of lightroom with AE CC is not possible with the current subscription. You can go for creative cloud all apps which includes any software or subscription only app for Photoshop and AE.

  Not sure what happens if you remove the card and put in a similar SD card. I would like to test it so that you know what to expect.

  The option to "Import suspected duplicates" has been deleted since the last release of Lightroom CC 2015.2.1.

  However for re-import images in Lightroom, you need to rename the images in Lightroom and then import them.
