Dekstop icons and subpages shrunk after installation of the graphics card NVidia

Original title: customization and office

When installing an nvidia graphics card, I later discovered that my desktop icons and the subpages have shrunk. I tried different remedies like zoom etc, but nothing helped. Please, can someone help restore all icons and pages to their normal size? Thanks in advance.

Looks like you've changed your screen resolution.

Assuming that you have installed the drivers that came with your new video card, right-click on an empty space on the desktop and select Properties.  Then click on the settings tab.

At the bottom left of the window, you will see a slider under "screen resolution."  Move it to the left decreases the resolution and increases the size of icons and text.  Move the slider to the right does the opposite.

Note that if you have a flat screen LCD, the display driver would have chosen the resolution "native" of the monitor, which is usually the best choice - even though the icons may be too small for you.  LCD monitors can technically support the resolutions lower than their native resolution, but the image can be small, centered on the screen and fringed in black; or the image will be stretched.

  • Tips for the installation of the graphics card and CS6

    Hello

I am really new to After Effects and first and I need some advice about the graphics card to use.

My version of Adobe CS6 and after having read the list of supported graphics cards, I know there are cards that are not compatible with After Effects, at least with regard to the Ray Traced 3D engine, which is now obsolete.

I was thinking of buying a used GTX760/770, but if I buy a GTX750 what will be the result? As I understand it, the only thing that will happen is that I can't use the Ray Traced 3D feature, but the card will continue to work as well with After Effects and first. Is this correct?

Another question is, do I really need the Ray Traced 3D option, or can I use a third party plugin?

I'm a bit confused with this and the graphics card is the only thing that I need to buy now. I'm from Europe and I've been looking for a GTX760/770 in Germany, UK, Spain, Amazon, Ebay, but because they are used, some sellers ship items to my country Portugal, or products are a little too expensive.

Regarding my computer it is a system of Skylake based i7 with 16 GB of RAM.

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Kind regards

After Effects do not use the GPU for much of anything other than the raytraced render engine. First it will use for many. You will need to check with people in the forum of the first to see if this older version of first supports this new card. (It will probably do the ever popular 'hack' to add your card to the list of supported cards).

It depends on what you're trying to do. I personally know someone who has used this feature on a professional basis. There are much better solutions out there for most of the tasks. Still, if you really want to use the engine to render raytraced on CS6 with this card, you could do the 'hack' I mentioned earlier for AE too.

But I wouldn't worry about the ray-traced rendering engine. As you mention, the AE team is developing more then you would learn how to use an obsolete tool.

  • No video after having replaced the graphics card and power supply

I have a desktop HP Pavilion m9515y PC. The graphics card that came with it (NVidia GeForce 9600 GS, 768 MB) did not suit the minimum specification required by a game that I played. Things in the game has been very slow - I could see a delay of s ~0.5 to move my mouse on the splash screen for the game.

Today, I bought a new graphics (NVidia Geforce GTX 550Ti, 1 GB) card and a Corsair 700W PSU to replace the 350W one that came with the system.

From the outset that I messed up something. It's been a while since I opened the box and I thought wrongly that the top panel (with the rubber surface) to come off before the side panel could be deleted. I removed the two screws now the top panel in place and slipped it in the process it disconnect and two thin black wires which I do not know the function. It was attached near the power button and one was attached to the rear of the Panel. The sons have stripped the ends rather than a connector of some sort and I don't know how they connect back or if they are the cause of the problem that I see now.

In any case, I advanced and removed the old PSU and video card and replace them with the new. Two of them are significantly larger than the components, they replaced, but they managed to adapt with some maneuvers. All cards are well-placed in the PCI slots.

The power is connected hard disk, DVD drive, the motherboard and the new video card. I'm not aware of any other connections that need to be made to food. There was not much clearance between the power supply and the back of the DVD player, but I was able to get the data and clinging to the DVD of power cables.

After having done all that, I hooked my monitor DVI cable, plugged in the power cable and turned on the power. When I plug it in, the power button on the top of the tower is illuminated and the power seems to work. However, my monitor indicates that there is no video signal. I tried to put the old return video card, but I don't always have a video signal. Because I can't get a video signal, I can't tell if the PC is start or not.

Does anyone know the purpose of the wires that were connected to the top of the Tower?

They would cause they cause this problem if they are not correctly connected?
Any suggestions for the possible causes of the absence of a signal from a video card?

I just took the PC to a repair shop and it turns out that the problem was quite simple: I don't have the PCU power cable 4 pins hanging. Everything seems to start fine when we hung out at the shop. Fortunately, the place that I took did not even charge me what as they don't charge co-pays and since it is such a simple fix.

Now I feel kind of stupid, but I know better next time...

  • Problems with the Precision M4400 and the graphic card Nvidia quadro 770M

I have a problem with my Precision M4400 and Nvidia Quadro 770 M. After I installed Windows 7 64 bit, I have problems with the graphics card. I get a blue screen or graphic errors. I tried several versions of the driver. In the Nvidia forum had this problem even more. Here, they told me that only a BIOS update for the graphics card to solve the problem. Update the BIOS, but I should refer by DELL. So my question is this problem with Dell is also known, and there is already an update of the BIOS to the Quadro 770 M?

    Hi all

I have the solution by chance. I was looking for the latest drivers GeForce for Windows 7 x 64 and I read the accompanying note: http://fr.download.nvidia.com/Windows/337.88/337.88-win8-win7-notebook-release-notes.pdf
On page 17, you can read the following note to fix: "[GeForce FX 770 M] [portable]: blocking of the blue screen occurs after Windows starts."

Of course, GeForce FX 770 M does not exist (and never was), and it should be Quadro FX 770 M. I can bet that nVidia has corrected this famous BSOD problem in the wrong driver because always there is nothing about any "Quadro FX 770 M - fix" in the note accompanying the latest Quadro (340.52) driver.

You try the GeForce driver above, but to install it, you may need to download an INF file modified with the addition of the ID of Quadro FX 770 M (= "NVIDIA_DEV.065C ="NVIDIA Quadro FX 770 M"). Try without the first modified INF file because the Quadro FX 770 M is listed as a compatible chip in the version of the driver GeForce 337.88 note...

I'll try that, even though I am completely sastified with the latest driver for Quadro (feasible) (285.62) without disable Powermizer. I did not try the latest Quadro drivers again (to be honest).

    Late me know please.

  • Re: Graphics Card Help... flag p6523w and gtx 970 low use of the graphics card

    Hello

I seem to have a problem with an add on the graphics card in my Pavilion p6523w

(Yes, this 12 '' long card fits into the case without problem)

upgrades made so far for this machine:

    Antec 600W PSU

    additional hard drive

    upgrades memory 12 GB (2x2gb original + 2 x 4 GB modules)

AMD Phenom II 1045 6 hearts

    ASUS 144 Hz 27 "monitor

The ATI integrated graphics card is disabled in the bios, and I was running an evga gtx 460 for two years with no problems.

When I "upgraded" to a new gtx Gigabyte 970 OC with 4 GB of vram (not the version of g1, the next one down) I came across a problem

the new video card will not work at full load when running the games.

On tests of reference such as furmark and the reference of the sky, it works fine.

On World of Warcraft and Second Life different viewers, it only works 25% rates of burden and the frame down about 15 fps at 32 fps. (it is slower than the old gtx 460)

Other people with this same card to receive 100 + FPS on graphics settings maxed out in Second Life

This is not a matter of processor bottleneck, because the processor will never more than 60 percent load while it is happening.

I tried different versions of drivers availible for this card.

Whenever I changed drivers, I booted in safe mode and DDU to remove the old drivers before installing a different version.

No change in performance between driver versions.

No change in performance with different graphics settings in games.

No change in performance with different settings in Control Panel NVidia

I'm starting to wonder if there is an incompatibility between this card and the motherboard Bios causing this problem.

Is the newest bios American Megatrends 6.04 version?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

    Mark S.

There is no problems listed under the dxdiag for my system. Apparently, this card can work with older motherboards.

I just discovered that this issue of throttleing was a fairly frequent problem quite some 970 and 980 based gtx cards and a solution that works for me.

There is a 3rd party outside vbios that changes the limit of use NT 250 watts up to 275 watts of power.

It is the only change from the original version.

Flashing your Vbios may void the warranty on your video card

Another thing to check is the voltage drop as possible on the 12VDC feeding the card.

Some people have experienced this problem and it causes the same symptoms.

This was not the case in my system, but it's one thing to check before resorting to some flashes of the vbios.

If you are planning on flashing the Vbios from your video card, be sure to save a copy of the original Vbios in case you need to restore the map to the stock.

Hi, so I recently got a new "XFX Radeon R9 285" graphic card PCI - E 3.0 and installed in my PC, I went to start it and the screen does not light. The PC boots, the fans run and everything just no display. It works with two other Radeon PCI-E graphics cards, but it does not start. 285 graphics card works in another computer, but will not work on this one. I tried to uninstall the old graphics card drivers and no luck.

    Motherboard: Gigabyte M3970AM-HP (Angelica)

    Model: 2AC8

    Supplier of chipset: AMD

    Chipset model: RD9x0

    CPU: AMD FX-8150

    PSU: 600w

    RAM: 10 GB

ORIGINAL OF THE GRAPHICS CARD: RADEON HD 7600 SERIES

    OTHER MUCH OLDER BUT WORKS

Thank you for the additional information.

Since you had the card running in another computer, you must have connected the two power connectors 6 pins.

If it were me, I would XFX Service contact customer (800-880-3225) to see what they have to say about your problem.  It may be a BIOS problem.  They need the specifications of your computer.

  • Glitch screen after installation of the graphics driver on HP G60-120US laptop.

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate on this laptop, and I have downloaded all the drivers provided on the site.

After installing the video driver a more specific sp45230.exe, I couldn't help but notice that the screen is subsequently very temperamental and he flashes so often, causing green to appear lines and occasionally causes of segments of the screen to move to the left for a fraction of a second.

While it is certainly a notch above have generic drivers for a new installation of Windows, can someone point to me where I can find another solution for this screen, or maybe a new driver? Any help would be appreciated. c:

Confirmed: After 2 months, no one is able to solve this problem. Congratulations, HP. You have lost a customer.

  • Equium A60 keeps restarting after installation of the graphics driver ATI

I have installed the Toshiba ATI graphic driver, but when I restart the laptop, it does not start, keeps restarting before surposed to go on windows XP. Help, please.

    Hello

Try please solve it as described on this Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=293078

Generally, the display driver installation should help. As you know sometimes it is not easy to fix this kind of problem and sometimes is much better recovery procedure.

You can not write about any common problem if you n t know exactly why this happens. If you are recovering the unit it will be working well. A negative influence on the graphic can have some games preinstalled or many other additional software.

  • Portege R100 crashes after installation of the graphics driver Vista

    Hello world.

I tried to put Vista on my R100 and surprisingly that everything works well. However, the only thing that's not the driver graphic. He moved very well and watch as signed but the machine hangs all the time when using the driver.

When you use the standard vga driver in windows, all right, but obviously you can not watch movies or whatever it is coz of the pilot garbage.

    any ideas people?

    Thank you

    Rob

    Hello

I put t know where you found the driver for Portege M100 Vista because I just checked the page of the Toshiba Vista driver and did not find the graphics drivers for Vista!

AFAIK the R100 uses a Trident XP4m32 with 32 MB of video memory graphics card.
You search for vista for this graphics card driver or you will use the standard graphic driver.
In my opinion, you should be a happy man because you were able to install Vista on your laptop and it works with the standard graphics driver.
As much as I know this laptop is not vista capable and I don t think you will be able to use it with a maximum return.

  • 650 HP laptop Windows 7 64-bit boot problem after installation of the graphics driver

I bought the HP 650 laptop which came with Suse Linux.

I installed 64-bit Windows and tried to install the corresponding graphics driver:

High definition (HD) of Intel Graphics Driver

as indicated in the list of drivers for Windows 64-bit here:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5225013&...

After installing the driver asked me to restart the computer and after the reboot, boot, Windows boot after displaying the Windows logo on black background the computer restarts again before you boot into Windows.

After this crash to start a startup repair is suggested and I can complete the restore of the system that allows me to connect to Windows but I have not installed display drivers and things like Aero do not work.

I tried several times and re - install drivers and had the same problem after each attempt.

    Help, please.

It's quite a few updates failed.  This can be linked to the issue, but we don't know really until the update problem is resolved.

Read this document to Microsoft as it addresses this particular error.  It also has various tools to try in case the first option does not correct the problem.

You can also try the Windows Update troubleshooting utility included in Windows 7.

Go to start > Control Panel > find and solve the problems under system and security > fixed problems with Windows Update under system and security.

    Let me know what happens.
