  Can enter you the parameters/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 as it starts - if yes put the boot
  order on CD/DVD first - then you can start with the Vista startup disk.

  If it does not start on a Vista startup disk or BIOS then there are specific hardware issues.
  (There are probably hardware problems anyway.)

  Remove ALL power and reconnect the cables (both ends where possible), memory and cards on the
  system - in fact, remove and replace - to do not just tight. Clean the dust bunnies. On a laptop
  about all you can do is reinstall the memory and clean the vents. Maybe a loose connection is the
  cause.

  Check with a real store of the computer (not the leeks and the glances at a Best Buy or other stores)

  If your system still start then run this utility from Microsoft.    Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

  Windows 7 64-bit should have all the drivers you need for the motherboard.  You must also install Windows 7 service pack 1.

  I have the same motherboard in my PC and it is not a problem with Windows 7 64 bit.

  Other devices that you mentioned will require that you go to the web site of the manufacturer and look for the drivers and support Windows 7 64.

  Check your CD/DVD drive for a firmware update before you convert them to WIndows 7.

  Check your PC for a bios update before you convert them to Windows 7.

  Before you go out and spend money there are a few things you can try.

  First of all, make sure that your drivers are up to date on your computer. If you could provide the product number for your computer, we can provide you with page drivers for your computer where you can go to make sure that your drivers are up to date.   Then make sure you have no other devices that contain magnets near your speakers.

  Finally, try a different app for sound. For instance if you hear the scratching during execution of the audio CD try a video or something and see if you still get the sound of scratching.

  OK, this is really starting to annoy me, and I would be very grateful if anyone can solve this problem for me. Well since I had my HP Pavilion Vista 32-Bit seems "randomly Lag" occasionally. For example, I'd be right on the web, and then all the computer slows down as the office. Windows and the programs seem to start to take longer to open. I reccently got a video card Nvidia GTS 250 for the game but still lags. But the strangest thing is that this problem occurs randomly. The problem seems to stop and then "randomly comes back" to happen to my PC. So far, my solution is to leave the computer alone or just leave it turned off.   I just did a system restore to drive with my windows vista computer, I put updates through the night, got up this am. a lot of updates failed, so I ran the victory. update again after the restart and many of those failed righted themselves, well, I have 1 update of this keeps appearing, win. service pack 1 Vista, when I go to install the update it tells me that its will take time and my pc will reboot several times during the process, if the service pack box, I ok it, click on install and within 10 seconds, the download and installation is done! He has not installed the service pack and only gives me an error or anything, said it was successful and after... hit .i win. Update, give me the same service pack download updated but is what I described a few lines to the top.  It seems to me that while updateing that updates were not updated in the order that they should have been, as "the oldest to the most recent' and I need to get service pack 1 for the i can get SP2 and so on... anyone have any idea why it will not actually download and install Service Pack 1 after I ran the disk I got rid of a bunch of stuff that I didn't not supplied with the disc before I ran the update.  and they were HP games, Norton sec. yahoo toolbar, ect. These programs would be inbedded in BONE and maybe I should have left just as if it was before I uninstalled the programs that I didn't?  I use a HP Pavilion Vista premium edition, its an old computer, 5 or 6 years old dual-core Athlon 64 32 bits of the system, 2 gig ram... Well when I go in the computer properties indicates my ram to 1918 mb made this sound right?   Ok... I'll start at the beginning...

  I have a HP Pavilion Vista Home premium

  My son hit something on the computer and when I tried to reboot the system, I would get a blue screen with a grey box "system recovery options".

  I went through every option but keep returning to the same a screen option was a full restore using a back up but when I cmmc he told me he couldn't find any backup sourse even if I had an external hard drive with a connected backup.

  I had the brilliant idea to use the DVD that brought me in a hp program to repair the HP recovery system. It gives two options for each program from the diskette or hard drive. I chose the disk he restored the system to origional factory condition I clicked next and the program ran but when I tried to start up I now get NTDLR missing and Ctrl/Alt/Del (but this message is in French!)

  I have reshered and found http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm this page I have creathed the iso cd disc tried all 10 options in normal mode and safe, but to no advail was the only option 2 would do nothing in normal mode and in safe mode would be a lot of code on screen then freezes after 7 seconds.

  I then http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ also got that drive and it ran into the maching now I get to Vista asking me to install I don't know if it's on the record or because I previously used the HP recovery disk to restore the system to the origional factory condition in any way when I try to install Vista I get the message

  "windows cannot open the required file F:\Sources\install.wim. The file does not exist. ........... "Error code: 0 x 80070002.

  If I click on repair the computer finds it on drive D: windows repair system (he is going through a test sequence and concluded

  I reboot the system and get

  To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

• Problems printing L7590 (Vista 64-bit); works perfectly on XP Pro SP3

  Hi all

  New L7590 on Vista 64 bit on HP Pavilion A6720F has problems.  When I print a page to test simple (or something else), she prints about half the page and prints then completed three pages, each with one or two lines of strange characters at the top (small faces, @ signs, hearts, call you).  Meanwhile, the computer makes that sound that you hear when you connect a new USB device about 4 to 7 times.  It also provides that the sound when you copy just a document, but it works.

  I have a strange problem with my Pavilion (Vista 64 bit): it just won't go/stay in stand-by mode.

  Whenever I go through start panel into position mode it seems to go through the process of orders-by only're - wake up' the very next second pressing strongly it's fans and check the dvd player (no matter if there is a CD-ROM/dvd-rom in it or not).

  Same thing happens whenever I'm away from the PC long enough for him to enter standby mode automatically. He tries to stand by again after a certain period of time without ever stay in stand-by.

  I had the problem since I bought the PC a few months - but having already had to return to the first person that I bought right away I didn't go through the hazzle and take the second return - once again.

  Sorry for the late reply.

  The question that you mentioned usually caused if the network adapter is set to wake the computer from sleep. If you are usign an always on Internet connection then there will be a constant activity in the network card and it wakes you up the PC as soon as you put in mode 'sleep'.

  Please, check the following and verify that the settings are correct.

  -Press the Windows logo and the R button to open the control box run.

  -Type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.

  -It will open up the Device Manager.

  -Click on + sign next to network card and right click on the name of the adapter listed.

  -Select properties, then click the power management tab.

  -If the option "Allow this device to wake up the PC" is checked, uncheck the box that and click Ok.

  Try to put the PC to sleep/wake and check if it is in "standby mode".

  I would like to know if the procedure worked. Give Kudos if it works.

  This error can occur if the value of the variable VIEWRES is too high. You can try the following steps and check if it works.

  To resolve this error:

  1. click on Start and type CMD in start it search
  2. right click on CMD in the list then select programs, run as administrator.
  3. type VIEWRES on the command line.
  4. press ENTER when prompted for Fast Zooms.
  4. enter 100 when you are prompted for the circle Zoom percent.

• Cannot print-"on paper" message but paper IS in the printer

  With the help of HP pavilion/Vista connected to HP Laserjet 6 L.  It is an old printer and for some time I can print only by feeding one page at a time, that's OK.  However, for a few days could not print and I get the message that the printer to "out of paper" when there is a ready to go in the Manger sheet.  The book seems to be inserted and the printer connections are fine.  Any help gratefully accepted!
