Delay in presentation of flash video playback

Dear Cisco professionals,

We have the question on our implementation of DMS for our client. We are currently developing a signage based on the presentation.

This presentation have a playlist that is composed of an asset of flash and video.

The problem is that if the video swing to active flash during playback, we see a delay on the screen for about 3 seconds. During this period, the just section white playlist.

We are to suspect that the delay is becaused of the size of the flash (400 KB) file. However after that we tried to set up a small flash of text running (40 KB), it is still delayed?

We already enable the cache on the DMP, disable syslog, and disable failover video but the problem still exists

Any other suggestions for this?

Thanks before

Imad

Hi Imad,

If you use a recent version of DMS (5.2.x), there is an option to set the preload content in order to avoid the playlist is empty during the time it takes to load the image/flash animation.

In 5.2.1/5.2.2, you have the option to set the time "preload" for an asset directly on the configuration of the list of reading in digital media designer.

You can try to set a duration of 5 seconds for the flash preload file and see if it loads faster after that?

Kind regards

Marco

  • Flash video playback is very late

In recent weeks, I had difficulties to play Flash on YouTube videos, etc in Firefox. That they often freeze on the first frame of the video, while the audio still plays. • Flash crashing and video playback/Streaming problems

Recently did a reinstall of Windows 7 and have experienced problems with Flash and video playback in general. Questions may or may not be related. I have not detected problems with the opera and so I think that these are problems of Firefox. 3 major video sites that I use are (HTML 5 player) YouTube, twitch.tvand Crunchyroll.

    (1) flash very quickly and systematically accidents

       * Specifically noted when viewing streams on twitch.tv
       * Often crashes within a minute, almost certainly within a few minutes
       * Crash logs provided below

    (2) reading crashes

       * Occurs on all 3 sites
       * On twitch, stream freezes (but Flash does not crash). On YouTube, loading circle comes up and video freezes
       * If this occurs on twitch, Flash less likely to officially crash

    (3) volume cuts

       * Occurs on all 3 sites
       * If this occurs on twitch, Flash may still crash after
       * I've had volume issues with my system in general, with volume occasionally cutting in gaming programs, such as League of Legends and Hearthstone. That being said, I do not experience this issue with Opera and this only occurs on video playback in Firefox.

    Attempts at Solutions:

       * Disabled hardware acceleration in Flash
       * Reinstalled/Updated Flash and (I think) made sure there is only one version of Flash
       * Reinstalled/Updated Firefox
       * Cleared cookies/cache/other stored web data
       * Updated all drivers

I wouldn't stop using Firefox as my preferred browser and works fine on all my other devices, but if the problem persists, I'll have to. Any help or insight is appreciated!

Unfortunately, I have tried all fixes of cor - el without success.

However, I started to use audio drivers Realtek instead of Microsoft and everything seems to work more smooth. Will update later when I did several tests.

  • Off-topic - How to give presentations in line with smooth video playback?

Hello, our company web presentations and webinars.

Currently, we use Go2Webinar and Join.me. They were both perfectly if we deal with static slide shows. But for a presentation, he had a few video files and they played back extremely agitated, which is quite understandable.

Can anyone suggest a free / inexpensive that would solve this problem?

I vaguely remember some services where all the files are uploaded to a server, which ensures smooth video playback on the receiving end, but can not dig up the name of the service provider. Any ideas?

    Thank you!

  • When Shockwave Flash is activated it causes flash videos trolling

I just got a new laptop (Acer) with Windows 10. In Firefox 42.0, all youtube videos play fine (because of HTML5, I guess), but the Flash videos trolling. I put Shockwave Flash plugin list for 'Never activate' that corrects the laggards. But now some videos on other sites are not at all because they need Shockwave Flash (they also staggered forward, for your information).

What do you think is the problem? Of course I want to have it turned on all the time, but without any delay.

I found the problem. It was crappy Acer CPU. During playback of Youtube videos that Firefox took the CPU to 95% most of the time and with the Flash it was even worse because of Firefox and Flash player running at the same time.

So my problem must be fixed by buying a cell phone better. That's what I get for assume that all laptop these days can run Youtube videos.

Thanks for the help, and I hope what I found helps other people also have this problem.

  • Hide a flash video dynamic of scene leaving the framework?

    Hi all

I'm still working on this flash presentation and I coded a dynamic video player that calls a URL to play a mp4 file.

The problem is that when I leave the framework that I have designated for video, video is still on the stage of content on other executives.

Now, I've experimented with things like removeChild, but without success.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to make the video visible on an image, or do stop playing on other images, I would be acknowledging the entry.

  • Flash video jumps despite the low CPU usage

It is a problem of browser independent (in IE and FF) and apply only to the Flash Video (YouTube, for example)-it happens for example with DivX.

Time to time the video will drop frames. Running beside the video Task Manager, I see that the CPU actually tends to fall in these moments, rather than boost. Well, it comes down to the departure at the time of the loss of images and then upwards slightly above reference for a short period. Use during playback, however, is very small, about 3-4%.

    What I tried:

    Change Windows high-performance power management

Deactivation of many processes that run in the background

Deactivation of the possibilities for energy savings in the energy Manager of Lenovo and technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology (though I doubt that this has nothing to do with the HARD drive)

    Disabling hardware acceleration in Flash

    .. .but does not.

    System information:

    Flash 12.0.0.77

    I have a new Lenovo Z710:

Processor: 4th generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ processor (2.40 GHz, 1600 MHz 6 MB)

    Operating system: Windows 8.1 64

    Device HDD: 1 TB + 8 GB

It has Intel Graphics HD 4600 running the latest drivers.

It's a clean new laptop - I did very little with it and actually this problem presented before I did anything for her.

It is quite frustrating and my old Acer laptop, although usually slow, doesn't have this problem.

    I hope someone can help.

Hello. I have a similar problem with casual framedrops while watching Youtube videos in point 8.1 of Windows. My processor is a core i5-4440 quad, and I also GMA 4600.

I think it's a little problem with Flash player multi-threading with quad core CPU. It does not seem to happen when I go in the Manager of tasks and set the affinity for the Flash Player to use only a single core. Try it on your machine and see if it falls still frames.

  • Video playback stopped working in Firefox until I DISABLED the plugin of primetime content decryption module

From one day to the next video (youtube, Vimeo, etc) stopped not working in Firefox. I checked my plugins/addons and discovered the plugin Adobe "primetime content decryption module" which I had not noticed previously had been installed. I've disabled the plugin and found that the video playback was still functional.

I realize the Primetime plugin is intended to facilitate playback of certain content (DRM), which would not otherwise play with Silverlight/Flash plugins, but unless that I turn it off it's actually prevents me from normal video content playback.

As this is a Firefox/Adobe plugin suggested I prefer it to work as expected rather than disable/remove it.

You can always download and install Flash for Android 4.0 which still works on android versions greater than 4.0, which is located on this site (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html), which is the own adobe site. Look for the Flash for Android 4.0 and the latest version. Although it is not advisable to use an outdated version of flash as it is not secure.

  • Video playback (HDX 18 Premium) online glitches

    Hello

I recently bought a computer to X 18-1190EW HP HDX. Little time after the installation and configuration, I noticed that during video playback high definition from popular sites (Youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo) video does not work smoothly. Instead, it freezes for short periods of time every few seconds. Most of the time the sound is OK, but with higher resolution videos (especially Vimeo HD) even the sound tends to "stutter".

I think that the problem might be related with the configuration of the video card, or with the video being buffered on the hard drive. When I view a video previously buffered for the second time, playback is smooth.

I don't think my computer does not have the processing power to decode/display of the video (Intel Quad CPU, Nvidia 9600 M GT, 4 GB of RAM, disk HARD 2 x 500 GB), so I hope that it is purely a question/configuration of the software. In addition to preinstalled HP software, I added "Vista Codec Pack" - this could be the cause?

I would appreciate any suggestions that could help me solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

Do you have the latest version of the graphics driver from HP. Check here

Try to update flash player here and web divx codec here.

If there are still problems with it try to install Nvidia drivers for your graphics here.

Don't forget if you want to update your graphic drivers first uninstall the old and install this new.
