Delete the Document

I can't remove a document.  I tried to remove several times.  It is more will appear under documents and settings, but whenever I click on the M Word icon on the desktop, it appears again.  When I try to create a new document, it creates the same document as the document 2.  Help, please

Hi Sheilaandronnie,

Is the original document that you open in your office? If you open a word file on your computer, it will create a temp document it and when you close word should be deleted automatically.

If you are unable to remove these icons after you close word check your task manager-> processes-> winword.exe and end treat him. Now try to delete it.

If all fails, download unlocker from http://download.cnet.com/Unlocker/3000-2248_4-10493998.html install and then right click on the file select unlock and remove.

I hope this helps.

You have them saved to this location for some reason any. If you don't like that you have to move them to the correct location and stop then save in the wrong location.

Whenever you save something you must check if you save it in the correct location, of course.

Do not delete them. You can use UNDO and trash to get back those you've accidentally deleted recently.

    Hello

From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.  Scroll down to the print spooler , made service right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.  Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

Restart the computer and you should find that the documents have been deleted.

You don't say what the hp Solution Center tells you to do, but it almost always works:

    1. Start > run > net stop spooler > OK
    2. Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS delete all files in this folder.  Do not delete the PRINTERS folder itself.
    3. Start > run > net start spooler > OK

  • Photosmart C6180 - unable to delete the document in the print queue

My Photosmart C6180 shows a document in the queue which can not be removed causing the error message and unable to print documents from my laptop.

    Hi Thomastwhilaker,

I'd love to help you remove the paper that is stuck in your queue and get you print again.

First post please returns with the answers to these questions.

    1. Is the printer connected wirelessly or with a USB cable?
    2. The printer is connected directly to a wall outlet or a surge protector? (It is preferable to connect directly on the wall)
    3. You have all other printers HP installed on this computer? If so, do you still have the printers?
    4. Is this a HP laptop or another brand?
    5. What operating system do you have? Mac or Windows?

At this point because you said your 'portable' I imagine you have Windows. If you have not already tried the HP print and Scan doctor, please do and let me know the results. You will see a key, a yellow exclamation point, a red X, or a checkbox then each point tested. If you have a Mac, skip the following steps and let me know.

Click here to download and run the utility > HP print and Scan Doctor

If the problem persists, I suspect that if restart us the spooler, remove the driver and re - add the printer that we may be able to correct the problem. Follow the instructions below to perform these tasks.

    Restart the print spooler

Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the Run dialog box

    • Type services.msc and press enter
    • Locate the print spooler and double-click it to open the spooler properties
    • Make sure you that Startup type is set to automatic, if not please click the menu down and select automatic
    • Under Service status, please stop the server, wait a moment, and then click Start

Remove the printer from the server to the printer properties

    1. open the folder "devices and printers".

    2. choose "print server properties.

    • Win XP - with no printer selected, click 'File' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows Vista - with no printer selected, press 'Alt' and then click 'file' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows 7/8 and 8.1 - Select any printer in the "Devices and printers" folder and click on "Print server properties" above.

    3. click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window "properties of the print server.

    4. choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click 'remove '.

    5. choose "Remove driver only.

    6. the next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click 'Yes' to say are you sure you want to do.

If you get an error "in use", restart the computer and the printer, and then follow the steps again.

    Re-add a printer

Open start > all programs > HP folder > folder printer > HP Setup and the software if you do not see the program installation and software, but you see the printer icon, double-click the printer icon to start the installation and the software.

Please let me know if this does not resolve the problem, or if you need additional help, I'm happy to help you.

  • Delete a document in my printer that won't erase

I sent a document to my printer and it does not print so I tried repeatedly remove but it will not erase and there my printer tied up.

    [Moved from comments]

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forums.

I ask you to answer this question, so that we can better help you:

You try to delete the document or the print job?

If you try to delete the print job, I ask you to try the following steps:

Turn on the printer and check if the problem is resolved.

Method 1: Check the print spooler service dependencies and check if they are started.

Print spooler is a software program that temporarily stores the disk printing hard or in memory until the printer is ready to print.

    a. press the Windows key + R and type services.msc in the run dialogue box.

    b. locate the print spooler.

    c. right-click on print spooler , and then select PTECHNIC.

    d. click the dependencies tab.

Find dependencies in the print spooler , and ensure that all the dependency services are running and set to Automatic.

Method 2: If you've waited long to print a document, or if you see an error message about the print spooler, you may have to restart the spooler to print on your computer.

    a. press the Windows key + R and type cmd in the Run dialog box.

    b. at the command prompt, type net stop spooler , and then press enter.

You will receive a message when the spooler is stopped. Now you must empty the queue.

    c. click Start , type %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\spool\PRINTERS and press ENTER.

This will bring up the file. Delete all the files in there. (This does not damage anything.) Now, you have to restart the spooler.

    d. return to the command prompt and type net start spooler, press Enter.

Please get back to us with the State of the question.
