Deleted a file and now I can't see my documents
I have a laptop with two hard drives: my C drive is running windows and my E drive has all my applications and documents. Somehow, I deleted a file on my E drive. When I click the documents folder I get an error that says E:\ My Documents refers to a location that is unavailable.
Hi JP Connors.
Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forum.
Based on the information, you have put all the documents and applications in E drive and deleted an important file.
It seems to be not not possible to recover a file if the Recycle Bin is empty too.
You can use your favorite recovery tool search for third-party search engine check the same.
Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
Hope that information helps

C: drive turned into raw and now I can't see file display options etc on my computer.
Original title: instability of the system.
I have xp s3. I had trouble with my main drive lately. Previously, I had my shot raw c drive and I can either logon in safe mode. I used checkdisk by my slave hard drive someone to another disk and it comes back with a few interface problems. Yet once the obtained c drive turned into raw and now I can't see file display options etc on my computer. I tried to use to start the system restore but not its use before and now. I have avira for antivirus and Registry Mechanic only. Is there a way I can fix my windows without formatting evrything?
Hi Windflash,
I had a similar problem also and it turns out that the hard drive is dead. You can probably do is to connect the hard drive to a working another computer & use data recovery tools to recover files from it but usability will always be a question.
Data recovery is an another stressful job as for me it took 3 days to recover data to a 500 GB drive.
After which I tried to format it own it but has not as well so I poured the reader.
You can try my snack suggestions if your drive starts to work again I strictly recommend you to use it as a primary drive.
Let me know if it helps.

I downloaded my PDF file and now I can not find
I downloaded my pdf file and now I can't find it on acrobat.com.
Hello
When you connect to Acrobat.com. go to the section of the file and the files should be there.
And if the files aren't there and then during the time of downloading the connection was intermittent or probably you would have been temporarily logout due to browser problem, what is happening.
Kind regards
Ajlan Huda.

My Adobe is automatically updated and now I can't find many documents I had saved on my iPad. What is going on?
Hello
Do you want to take a look at the "Choose a file location" section in the following document?
How to manage files Acrobat DC for iOS
I suspect that you look at the Recent section. Your can switch to the Local (for files & folders stored on your iPad/iPhone) or Cloud of Document (for files & folders stored in the cloud of Document Adobe, formerly Acrobat.com) to find your "lost" files
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.

I consolidated my files and now iTunes can't find almost 200 songs in my library
For a long time I have been adding new songs, I have download in a folder and then add the songs in the library iTunes via file-> add a file to the library and pointing to each new song. Last week, in order to make a backup of all my songs, in accordance with the recommendation of Apple, I gathered all my files in this folder (where there were songs in other folders I don't remember). However, even if the option "keep iTunes media folder organized (up files in folders of album and artist)" was NOT checked, it is exactly what makes iTunes: it began to place my files lost in the artist/album folders it consolidated.
I cancelled the process when I realized what iTunes did, which would result in all hope, but that has not happened. Now, 250 on 2660 songs, I had have NOT been organized to artist/album folders (probably because I cancelled the process before they could be organized) are always in the song 'root' folder: http://prntscr.com/bvrvqt
About 180 of those who have a "!" icon in my library stating iTunes cannot find the specified file: http://prntscr.com/bvrpl0
When I double-click on one of them, iTunes asks me to manually point to the file, and when I do, it asks me to find the rest of the "!" from the songs I did. The problem is, although all the others '! ' songs are also in the folder 'root', iTunes simply cannot find an any of them on its own! Frustrating. If I add the missing files via file-> add files to the library, iTunes will create an entry duplicated them on the list, as if they were different files.
No idea how I can return this mess and make iTunes to find the missing pieces? The only thing I can think to use SharePod program to save all the songs from my iPod to a new folder and Redo from scratch iTunes library from there, but then I would lose how my songs are displayed in the library (most recently added first), as all files would be added now at roughly the same time. I rather would not lose it.
I use iTunes 12.3.1.
Thank you very much!
I suspect that iTunes has updated some of its references to point to the new locations that it would have copied files if you had not interrupted the process. See Re: files change media for advice on fixing systematically broken links. See make a split cell library for more information on the ideal organization to an iTunes library. Consolidation of copies any file outside the currently designated in the media folder and update iTunes so that it uses the new copy thereafter. Consolidated files are copied into the presentation standard of the artist and album folders that are also used for what it is torn, converted or downloaded with iTunes.

Hello Seymour777,
There is good and bad news for this.
The good news is that there is a way to do it.
The bad news is usually the disc at the level of the publishing industry.
This operation is not in this forum.
Your best option right now is to look for a data recovery specialist or watch data recovery programs that will do the job for you.
Best regards

Help, please. I changed the file attributes in the properties of my music folder and now all my music went from itunes, but when I click Properties it always says that the file is 6.8 GB of data.
Click the Start button and click on music.
On the top left click on organize,.
Then folder and search options
See section scroll down and check the box.
Display hidden files, folders and drives,
Apply and OK,
You see your files now?
Massive rearmament of the hidden attributes can be done by right clicking the (my photos / music...) the list and select Properties.
Section of the tab general, check hidden near the bottom and click on apply.
This will change all files to hidden, click Yes,.
Then uncheck the hidden box and apply,.
It will remove the attribute hidden all your files, click Yes,
Then finally click on apply or save.

I've upgraded to 8.1 windows and now I can't retrieve my documents
I use a HP pavilion. Has been asked with a pop-up to go to app store microsoft to update windows 8 to 8.1. I have done this and now can not retrieve my documents. The printer reloaded necessary, too. I tried to reinstall microsoft office, but did not work.
8.1 Windows definitely has a learning curve, exponetially more difficult if you have worked with earlier versions of Windows. Fortunately, if you're ready, there is much good information out there. That's how I started when it came out. Here's a good example of a tutorial of starting from the mouth of the horses; Microsoft: tutorials for Windows introduction.

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for the Windows XP drivers for your specific model number.
