Deleted WiFi interface

Hi all, like many people I had problems recently with my wifi on my 2009 unibody MacBook Yosemite running. The problem is that the wifi interface has been removed by using the '-' symbol in the network window. I then tried to add this back, but the only options I had were Ethernet or Bluetooth. I've scoured the forums for the most common solutions. So far, I have tried a number of things:

-Add a new location

-deletion of the system in the 'library' and restart configuration file. It's the last thing I tried, but the computer does that get to the loading screen and wont start completely.

I feel that I make things worse by trying to resolve the problem. Any ideas where I could go from here?

Thanks in advance!

    Any suggestions please?  It seems that I have "lost" the wireless interface?  How can I reinstate that? This could be a physical problem rather than a pilot / configuration problem? If so, how could prove that?  Thank you.

    Well, I received the replacement wireless lan card and installed.  Turned on the portable, full of anticipation and, still had the same problem.  Called HP and they said that, as long as it is not a plug ' Play device, I had to use HP Recovery Manager to restore the machine back to factory settings and then it would recognize the new card. This means taking backups of all the data on the laptop that this is deleted.  A bit of pain, but did this and I now have a WiFi again.  However, I can't say if the original wireless LAN card was really bad in the first place (and I won't be back to try) in which case the system recovery could have resurrected the wifi in any case, but it's a drastic thing to try. In any case, thanks to HP support Office for their help, I now to reinstall all the software I lost by making the system recovery.  If anyone is interested, here is the link that HP gave me for the recovery of the system, but I'm not sure its applicable to all HP Laptops:

    Is there a way for you to scan my computer on the internet?
    If so could you? I am currently using a Belkin external antenna.
    This can affect anything?

    Please answer as soon as possible. Thank you.

    Hello

    Looks like you wouldn't have a big computer experience.

    First of all it s interesting to know which laptop model you have.

    Secondly I m wondering why you think you erased the WLan driver?
    Go to Device Manager and check if the wireless adapter is listed in the network adapters.

    If you could see the wireless card WLan driver is installed correctly.

    The address real wifi to your phone depends on the address given by your router, unless you tell us what it is that we cannot know the answer to the question.

  • No fix for the iPhone 6 WIFI "incorrect password" error?

    Was started shortly after the iOS Update 9. We have several customers experiencing the same problem with iPhones and iPads.

    Yes, we have been meticulously enter the password. We are aware that it is case-sensitive.

    Apparently, there is some sort of strange intermittent problem. My child MX5X2LL/A 6 IPhone will connect to WIFI for a week or two, and then completely to 'forget' the passwords to each wireless network unique, that it is never connected to any notification and without any warning. Then, a week or two later, miraculously connect wireless once more. This weird bug is driving us bananas - especially with all the data overages. It all seemed begins at the time of upgrade to iOS 9. Here's what we've done since September:

    • upgrade to iOS 9.1 and later 9.1 updates

    • Re-set to update to iOS 9.3.1

    • clear and reset the network settings at least 12 times

    • clear and reset the entire phone three times

    • Reset all wireless routers, change the SSID, changed passwords

    A few things that do not seem to give us at least some sort of progress, but still unacceptable:

    • people with disabilities find my iphone - connected to WIFI immediately, then he lost again a week later

    • connected to the public WIFI hotspot by Bright House, but not through WIFI interface type

    • connected to two 5G wireless networks, even if it would not connect to 2 same G network with same or different passwords

    The signal strength is great in the world. I checked all the obvious and not so obvious stuff. Running a password access point is dangerous and not an option. It is not heat, because in this case from a cold start. The only thing I can find is a difference of firmware in the authentication in the WIFI chip used on the sellers of MX5X2LL / a. are swapped mid-year model in all mobile phones, computers and tablets and is usually transparent, so there may be a problem specific to the provider, Apple is not aware of.

    Apple support has been useless and unfortunately pompous as usual, declining several times there is a problem and asking I have send my phone to paying off-warranty service or a replacement, which is NOT a solution, thank you. There are at least hundreds if not thousands of people posting here who have EXACTLY the SAME PROBLEM. My last post was removed because some Apple genius assumed somehow it's funny business going on, but I can assure you and to prove it has NOT NEVER been hacked, cracked, unlocked or jailbroken, whatever that means. Maybe they have a mandate to delete messages that indicate their equipment cannot 'some work '.

    First of all, go to/System/Library/CoreServices , and ensure that the app is still there. If so, just go to the Applications folder and delete "Wifi.app", so it will be removed from the Launchpad.

  • WiFi problem after upgrade to OS 10.11.2

    Hello

    I have a MBP 2010 I installed OS 10.11.2 yesterday because it was supposed to improve the performance of the wifi.

    Since my update the MBP does not see any network wifi more so that all of the other ipad and iphone at home are connected.

    I don't know how to activate the wifi to work again.

    Thank you for your help

    You have restarted your Mac since the upgrade? If this is not the case, try this, because sometimes a reboot solves things.

    You can also try a reset of the PRAM.

    If none of the above work:

    Try to turn WiFi off tension, and then back on... Or...

    Attempt to remove networks that you have connected to in System Preferences/network/WiFi/Advanced button/Preferred Networks. Then see if you are able to connect to a network... Or...

    Finally to try: System/Network Preferences, remove the entry from WiFi by selecting it in the networks list and clicking on the sign less . You may need to open the Panel with an administrator account and password. Then add the WiFi network, by clicking on the plus sign by selecting from the drop-down list WiFi Interface .

  • Updated to Yosemite and no wifi for others

    Updated Mountian Lion (Mac Mini) and immediately no one in the House had wifi!  I turned off the wifi and bluetooth on the mac and plugged in an ethernet cable (and did a hard reset on the WRT54G v5). Again - as soon as we put the mac wifi connectivity returns to sleep, when he wakes up the router broadcasts the SSID but will not connect. Our 2 PC ethernet does not seem to be affected anyway. Ideas?

    What security mode are you using? Privilege 'egi' is WPA-Personal. WPA2 only.

    Temporarily disable the WPA and test to see if all the connections are possible. Delete WiFi profiles used previously in OSX or on the devcies and re-run the analysis for the SSID you have and you try to connect again.

    Your router may be incompatible with OSX version since these wireless drivers are updated with the date and the LInksys probably has not being updated for a while and don't won't. You may need a new router at some point.

  • Data networking BlackBerry (especially WiFi)

    A confused spirit is a spirit of work!

    Here's what I discovered recently on Blackberry and not a very pleasant discovery, I have to add.

    When not having not a dataplan BB, you can use the WiFi from your application.

    It seems that RIM has been generous enough to give the users of data plan BB possibility to reduce their costs on their data plan, expenses by allowing them the use of WiFi.

    WiFi is used only as an opportunity for "privileged" users

    If you not have data plan, you will not be able to use (this that forge otherwise be normal) WiFi connectivity.

    I tried several scenarios with or without the BB data plan and came to this conclusion. Among other things, the best tool used was the famous "Network Diagnostics" tool

    Anyone had success using WiFi (pragmatic, of course) on a device of non-activated data plan?

    In conclusion: the white WiFi icon is indifferent on that gray

    As mentioned, I do not use these flags, nor tried to determine where they can be defined.

    The following how I think it works, I don't have any entry of RIM and I'm not really good on these kinds of things.  So maybe I'm completely wrong!

    However my experience with the ServiceBooks leads me to think that the WiFi has two States

    (1) the unit can connect using WiFi

    (2) the device found "home port" and therefore will be directing traffic through WiFi.

    For BIS users, I suspect that these two would never happen, because I think that home port is that RIM provided server that is public, so can be found on any WiFi network.  For BES users, the device have found the BES via Wifi to get to State 2, which means that there really be VPNed in or on the WiFi of company.

    I think the flag you are testing is looking for State 2.

    If you don't have a SIM card or SIM card with a data plan, you will never get to State 2.

    My understanding and experience is that as long as you have State 1, you can use WiFi by coding '; = wifi interface.

    I tested that I can use WiFi in this way on the following devices: 8820, 8320, Bold, Curve 8900.

  • Transfer TCP on WiFi speed

    I am a direct Socket connection to a laptop on the same router (with the suffix "= wifi interface"). It works but the connection is incredibly slow, and the transfer of files is at a maximum rate of 24.5 KB/s.

    It may be related to the mechanism we use:

    Applications of BB 64K-->

    <-- laptop="" sends="">

    Applications of BB 64K-->

    ....

    But still, he cannot be so slow. I was wondering what advice you guys can give me.

    I tried the following:

    (1) reading the full 64 K at once,

    byte[] data=new byte[64000];in.read(data);

    (2) setting receive and send buffers

    socket.setSocketOption(SocketConnection.RCVBUF,64000);
    socket.setSocketOption(SocketConnection.SNDBUF,64000);

    (3) using a class for FileConnection and entry/OutputStreams variable so it is not open or closed for each package.

    What else did I miss?

    No, I was referring to the CRC code I implemented for my application (message layer).

    In addition, I was blushing the output stream each package which has become a bottleneck and caused the device to hang (as it is faster than the hot flashes in a local installation to receive a new package). Later, I'll let the OS worry about rinsing an OutputStream now.

    During the reception, I'm able to reach a speed of 250 + KB/s now.

  • Error trying to solve. + http + wifi

    Hi all

    up to now, am unable to establish a connection on the device. I have few things to understand before I go into details...

    (1) if the user has the APN settings, my application will connect to the Internet.

    (2) am using curve 8520 device, is not have APN settings, but it opens google and able to surf on the net. This means that the APN settings are only for applications to access the internet.

    (3) when I try to open my app Simulator, I got the exception "Error trying to resolve".

    the exception is the following: I had the same exception.

    When I remove the suffix to the url, it is running in the Simulator. and in the device, I have exception "The Tunnel failed" .

    I used HttpConnection to establish the connection.

  • XML HTTP Request Mode Wifi, BIS, or other

    I know that in the society of normal http that allows us to add the deviceside = true; and interface = wifi;

    How can use the wifi interface sepecifiy in XMLHttpRequest.

    Document (PDF) of XMLHttpRequest

    How can I do that in XMLHttpRequest can someone help me.

    The subject is complex... first of all, it should be noted that there is no relationship between a transport and a physical network connection.

    You can consider a transport like a VPN tunnel.

    If you install your transport to be first BIS and BES second order list, all communications will pass through BIS first if it is available as a transport on the device.

    The WebWorks Developer Guide describes how to change your transport order in the config.xml file.

    A few notes and words of caution

    There are really only VERY specific use cases where you want to change these settings.  Generally, the default settings produce the desired result.  Could you explain more what is your intention?  I wouldn't see you down the road to try to configure your transport when you shouldn't.

    In addition, the Simulator cannot simulate transportation... you will need to test it on a physical device.

  • How to do an http Basic by wifi connection just without data plan?

    Ok. Here's the situation: I have developed an application that makes a connection http Basic (connector.open (url)). It woks fine on Simulator course since it uses the mds Simulator. I'm targeting os 5 and above. Now I started to test on the actual device (curve 9300). The real problem is how can I go out with just a default connection. I mean a generic that doesn't care what type of transport, the phone has and uses only the default. As you know has 9300 WiFi. So hopefully I should be able to connect using my wifi at home. On the phone, I can establish connection wifi fine. The phone's browser do not allow through well. He complains: (error! wifi detected...) We are not able to authenticate you as you are not currently a Rogers... Please turn off your wifi connection, and launch your browser to try again). Well, if it means that I'm not on Rogers, it is not correct, as my base phone package is with Rogers, the SIM set in the phone. I tried his suggestion and of course, it does not work!

    What encourages me that it should work in principle, but I have two phone applications (Opera mini and google map) who are able to go online and make the connection.

    I tried to use a combination of parameters attached to the url, as follows:

    1. just by default without any parameter

    2 - deviceside = true

    3 - deviceside = true; = wifi interface

    I also experimented with different options on options tcp apn:

    1 disabling APN setting

    2-activation parameter APN with internet.com, with comments from user and password

    setting of AFN 3 activation internet.com with wapuser1 and wap for the user name and password.

    To "manage connections", I have the following question similarly checked:

    -Network mobile Rogers...

    Dlink_RezaNetwork - Wi - Fi...

    -BlueTooth feature is disabled

    I wonder out exactly the Mobile network connection? I guess that's my basic phone plan puts online. I will be happy if that's the case for my app by there rather than the wifi connection if that is indeed what Opera mini and google map. But sorry to disappoint you, because even if I disable the first connection (i.e. Mobile network Rogers...) I am still able to use these two apps without problem! It makes me happy because it difinitely says I should be able to go online using only my wifi without data plan!

    On connection icons at the top of the phone to the right, I see the following

    Rogers - dlink.RezaNetwork 3 G (icon of the resistance)

    WiFi

    As you can see, my phone is connected to the wifi in my house.

    Anyway, after all this detail, anyone know if there is a solution to this problem? I mean google map and Opera Mini are able to go online without problem.

    In full respect, please don't refer me to read this or that doc I did those before you come and ask questions. But even if there is a doc that you think really go to address above concerns more precisely I'll gladly read

    I use eclipse for development and just well on Simulator.

    This is the result I get when I run the app through the eclipse on the device:

    (1) for the case when only a Wifi connection is enabled on the device connector.open (url) is called with no additional parameters, I get the error: net.rim.device.internal.io.criticalioexception: required radio isn't avtive.

    (2) for the case with wifi interface parameter defined as follows:

    String connStr = _theUrl + "; interface = wifi. "
    s = (connStr) Connector.open (StreamConnection);
    HttpConnection httpConn s = (HttpConnection);
    InputStream input = s.openInputStream ();

    There is no error reported, even though I capture all the exceptions of open(). But the stream returned is always empty!

    Thanks again.

    Just an update:

    The problem took over the redirect. It was a subject, I admit, I was quite familiar with. So, once read on responses from http status, the solution was easy. Also is it possible to simply use the wifi connection for http connections in the code. The build in the browser is another story and it depends on how the connection preferences are managed internally by the os and carrier I suppose, but lance in the code browser works very well, with just wifi traffic.
