Deleting file found.000

Dear all,
After you perform a CHKDSK/F, a folder named C:\found.000 appeared at the root of my C:\ (NTFS) disk. It contains a subdirectory C:\found.000\{E80F6~1 who is unaccesible and size of 0 bytes. What is this and how can I remove this? I tried to remove using a NTFS boot disk and I couldn't remove it as well. I ran a utility program Western Digital to check the hard drive and no hardware problem or bad sectors were reported.
Concerning

HelloLarryXP,

The folder is created when you run chkdsk.   As Judd said sometimes it can be created by other programs when they do not completely install.  You don't have to use chkdsk which often her you don't have to worry about the current folder to create often.

  • Folder found.000 and files on USB

Well, I have quite a few USB drives at the time, and Windows (7 to be exact) says that one of them should be checked. This isn't any ordinary reader, I want to talk to. It's an iPod Nano 1 g. So, I let check, expected and it's over. When I looked on the drive, there was a "FOUND.000" file was 4564 KB, which is quite large on a music player 1 GB with about 80 MB for a value of songs and a "C:\found.001" folder that is locked. I was able to delete the file, which I hope it doesn't spoil anything, but the record just Don't GO AWAY! So, help!

When you do a 'chkdsk' (check disk) operation in Windows and the discoveries of program control a file that has been allocated on the disk, but does not appear in any folder ('orphan' file), then control program creates a file and places the file (s) in this folder with an extension ".chk" where they were important and that you wanted to try to save them.  If you don't want them, just remove them and you'll find this orphan space as available space.  Since you say that this isn't a typical disk (rather an iPod), these files can be used by the iPod itself and perhaps should not be deleted.  Proceed with caution.

  • Tried to delete files on the desktop, but it showed "Item not found"!

I wanted to delete files on my desk. But he showed "Item not found", ask me to locate the file. But I searched the entire computer, the file is no longer exist. But he was still showing on the desktop!

What can I do to remove them? Because they are really boring!

Are you sure that it is a folder on your desktop and not just a shortcut (a link to the actual file)?  The actual file can be located elsewhere.

Check C:\Users\\Desktop, and see if the files are there.  If so, try removing them from there (instead of from the desktop).  It shouldn't make a difference, but it might work.

Try to use one of the following free products to remove the file/folder (from two places).  Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php of files (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/) or Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml.  These programs often work when normal functions remove Vista not work correctly.

Search for files in Vista is quite different that it was with XP.  To search for a file with a normal search in Vista, it should be in the index files or types of files - otherwise it will not come to the top.  You CAN get to get to a FULL player search.  To search for the folder C: whole disk in Vista go to start / search and type in ' or '. As you type, you'll see two hyperlinks appear just above where you type and we'll search everywhere.  A click on it.  Who will do a fast indexed search and bring up a dialog box.  Click on advanced search.  Click the drop-down location and find the C: drive and click on it. Check the box "include not indexed, hidden and system files (might be slow).»  Then click on search.  You will now search your entire hard drive to the specified file.  And Yes, this isn't a very effective way to search the entire disk for a file but it is how it is done in Vista.  Once you find the file, try to remove normally and if it does not then try to use both products above to see if you have a better chance.

    I hope this helps.

  • Software deleted files still in computer science

    I use a HP s5310f w/4 GB of ram, 600g hd, Win 7, IE8, Norton 2010.

I had a lot of problems with Roxio Creator 2010 and ended up uninstalling because whenever I tried to reinstall I would get the error message "certificate missing or corrupted", and Roxio/Sonic could not solve the problem. I also uninstalled the Roxio Photo Show softwarwe as well. I used Revo uninstaller with advanced registry scan for the two facilities. However, when I click on start and type Roxio in the search box, a list will appear showing always almost 36 000 files in my computer which are Roxio Roxio and associations.

My question: If the software has been uninstalled, and leftover files deleted from the register, what are the files 35 000 + and why are they still in my computer?

I am tempted to select all and delete, but do not know what happen to my computer if I did.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

  • How to access a folder found.000 which is locked

My dear son opened the door to the cage of my drive hard while he was writing data and it was corrupted.  A ran chkdsk and it seems to have recovered everything, approx. 600 GB, but they are in a locked folder called "found.000".  Unfortunately I can't access it, I get "access denied" when you try.  How can I access the data?

I had a similar problem, suddenly lost all my images files. Notably, I was very upset because there were a lot of valuable photos and videos. Of course, I had backups, but they were unfortunately not up-to-date.

    My situation:

    • Lost images
    • Tried Recuva to recover
    • Discovered that some of them were hidden in C:\found.001\dir0000.chk\Korea
    • Ran chkdsk, but showed no problems
    • Tried to open d:\found.001 but it would not appear in C:\ nor I could get him manually
    • Tried to manually open the dir0000.chk but could not
    • Change the permissions did me not access or folders appear in C:\
    • I have been able to go straight to C:\found.001\dir0000.chk\Korea, but these are only the files of that submap of my images

Here's how I managed to recover the files

  • Trying to recover deleted files offline

    Hello

I have a Windows 7 domain computer that had the Folder Redirection on the my documents and desktop folders. It is a portable computer that uses offline files also.

It turns out that for some reason any synchronization to the server has stopped working since a long time (over a year) and so all the files current users were not saved. Luckily there was a problem with users of profile and a junior tech removed in order to create a new one that might work. With a new profile, the synchronization is now operational but it all the old files synchronization that were on the server and the user loses the files cached on the laptop.

A search in C:\Windows\CSC folder only shows these last files cached and no old files.

I ran a file recovery tool and found thousands of deleted files in the c:\Windows\CSC\temp folder in the format of temp-{448a5a00-0e7e-11e5-8eed-5cac4cf9610e}.dat. I believe that these are old files offline because there is over 2000 of them.

Is there a way to recover these files deleted to their original form? Nearest I found is that Ubuntu can actually play some Dat files and I can back up to a normal file type but it's only a little. Please help with ideas as the user would be to more than one year of data otherwise. Also, is there a way to monitor in the center of synchronization of files on the computers in the domain offline?

    Thank you!

  • Cannot delete files to the trash (Recycle Bin access denied)

    System: Windows 7 Ent SP1 x 64, i7 930, 24GO RAM with all updates

When I try to delete files in Windows Explorer, I get the following error (most of the time, but not always):

Window with the title 'Recycle Bin access denied' and the message

" cannot be moved to the trash. Do you want to permanently delete it? »

I can then permanently delete the file, even if I sent to the trash.

I tried the following (nothing works):

-checked to see if the file is locked with Process Explorer (find handle or DLL)-it is not (and it can be removed permanently)

-deleted all the recycle bins on all drives & restarted. New recycling bins have been created, but it did not help.

-changed of owner of baskets and all files as (with the takeown command). Corrupt system baskets complained, emptied their and restored to their previous state. This did not help the primary problem.

-set the maximum size to the size of the disk on all baskets. It has no effect on the main problem.

-J' also checked the security for the folders tab $RECYCLE. BIN on all readers and define "Full control" for users. SYSTEM and administrators had already 'Full comtrol. This did not help also.

What is strange (and new), is when I open the Recycle Bin, the files are always considered to be "Tiles" (which I did not). If I put it in 'Détails', the change is not permanent - the next time I open the Recycle Bin, the files are showed once again as "Tiles".

What can I do to be able to delete (all) files via the Recycle Bin?

Thanks Mike for the response, but none of the methods helped. There was no malware and even in safe mode, I could not delete files to the Recycle Bin. In addition, the original administrator account could not delete to the Recycle Bin.

But I think I found the culprit:

Apparently, this problem showed that in the downloads folder, to which I had many junctions (to be easily accessible). Due to lack of space on the C: drive, I remembered that I have moved through properties-> location on a disk with more space. Instead of the old folder in C:\Users\ downloads I put a junction pointing to the new location.

Now, I had old junctions pointing to C:\Users\personal, which in turn was a junction pointing to a new location. Registration/creation/look at one/etc files in folder downloads accessible through 2 junctions was of course OK, but delete somehow was not able to delete files to the Recycle Bin. When I fixed the remaining junctions to point directly to the new location of the download folder, delete started working OK again.

    Summary:

Delete the file (SHFileOperation?) is not able to use the trash, if the file is accessible via junction 2 points (or more?).

If you could not ask about your db, you can watch in the log_archive_dest_1 parameter, which is in the init.ora file, to know where are your archived log files.

    DC DS:
    Get-ChildItem-Recurse | where {$_.} {Name - like "vmware-* .log"}
    Remove-PSDrive-name of the DS

If you are happy with the files that are found, you would simply change the line to delete the files:

    Get-ChildItem-Recurse | where {$_.} {Name - like "vmware-* .log"} | foreach ($_) {remove-item $_.fullname}

If you are connected to a console or a SSH session and just need a once executed, you can run this option to show files

    find/vmfs/volumes / - name vmware-* .log-exec ls ().

    and that to delete files

    find/vmfs/volumes / - name vmware-* .log-exec ls (). XARGS rm

  • Dreamweaver CS6 uses old deleted files: How can I get rid of them?

    Hello world

This is my first post... I have a problem which is really annoying. Using Dreamweaver CS6 on desktop Win 7-64 bit, I had outside assistance to transfer a website in html5 and CSS3. When the site was almost finished, I have imported the entire site and worked on it by myself using Dreamweaver CS6. This worked well, until I again had outside help in the index.html file. I imported the new index.html file which worked on the outside, but dreamweaver does not allow this: he continues to show the old index.html file that I had deleted before, even when I try to re - import the site etc. The web, I found that it might be useful to delete the history of files using regedit. I did and also tried my best remove every vestige of the old version, aftzer, used CCleaner and Tuneup Utilities 2014, and even once, it did not help. I thought then that the only way would be for installing Dreamweaver CS6, still clean my computer to any what rest probably filed or files .bak and then after several raises and processes of cleaning, I have re-installed Dreamweaver CS6, in the hope that it works now. However, new Dreamweaver came up with the same problem. Somewhere in the mists of your hard drive, dramweaver must always have access to the long deleted files and even once does not allow me to work on the new corrected index.html file. Anyone of you have any idea how I can get this working properly? Thank you so much in advance and greetings from the Lake District Salzburg, Giraldus

    Mr Hans-Günter,

    Dear all,

I have a solution: I open the file 'wrong', completely leached all the HTML and JavaScript, open the actual file with firefox, then copied the code from here and pasted in the now empty index.html file. Then, I stored this one and now it works and the old .bak? copy has disappeared!

Thanks to you, dear Hans-Gungter, and all who could probably thought about my problem with Dreamweaver.

and the best of Salzburg Lake District,

    Giraldus
