I submitted my request to a representative of Microsoft Live Chat, but she did not have enough technical information on the subject to be able to help me in this matter.

    Here's the question:

I have 2 Administrator accounts on my computer. First story is mine, and the second account (called HOME) is for users. I use an account is protected by password. HOME account doesn't have a password. I want to keep the account of the HOUSE to delete user accounts, either this is a limited account or an administrator account. HOSPITALITY account requires administrator rights so it can't be limited account. Is there another way to do this without changing the type of limited user account? Hello

The files should still be there if you can log in with an account Admin look in C:\Users
(Where C: is the drive where user profiles are what is C: by default).

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. Also the ADMINISTRATOR account of
Safe mode has no password by default unless someone has changed.

    Other methods:

Use the hidden administrator account to lower your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK then go back
and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times. Do the same for others
accounts that may be difficult. If necessary you can also reset your password in the accounts.
Do not forget to leave your Admin account and the other to the desired level.

Make another Admin account with your password and use it to fix the others if necessary. (just for
repair, don't use regular account, not a safety valve) always keep a spare ADMIN account.

DO NOT LEAVE THE ENABLED LSA OR USE DAILY. If it corrupts you are toast!

  • Why can't I delete a unwanted user account?

In the process of setting up a new MacBook Pro today I read in the Apple Support that Apple recommends to make an account of type 'standard' in addition to my admin account for increased security.  I did, but changes his mind after deciding that it was an exaggeration to security because I work at home.

After finding instructions for the deletion of an account, I clicked the lock and the sign of "delete" under the list of users, then loaded Sys Prefs 'remove' account (no disk image, etc.), which did not contain anything. The grey account name and "deleting account...". "appeared below.  However, the message is still there (45 min. later) and I can't get Sys Prefs, apparently because he thinks that it is still deleting the unwanted account, which he does not seem to have done, since I can always access by choosing the fast user switching and entering the password.

How OS X to finish deleting the account and let me out Sys Prefs?  Thank you!

If you can not stop via the Apple Menu system preferences Forse, shut down the Mac, reboot and try again.

External USB hard disks costing less than USD 90 for 1.5 TB or more - I do not understand how people lose data these days.

You * might * be able to recover all or part of the files by using an application like Recuva (it's a link, it's free, do not buy anything).

Because you posted in Windows XP - Start searching files in C:\Documents and Settings\ - in particular directory from the old username (which was probably completely deleted.

The machine is used, less you will recover anything.

Whatever the results - I suggest buy you a form any external backup and schedule a periodic and consistent backup that you can go in situations like this.

  • Help! All files on disk of data lost after deleting a user account in Windows Vista

    Hello

    Alex Ho

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I appreciate that you try to recover the data after the deletion of the user account in Windows Vista.

Since you've already deleted the user account, you would not be able to recover the data.

However, you can use any third party to the data recovery software.

NOTE: using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

I deleted a user account and has been invited to have the docs and images copied to the administrator account. The name of the copied file appears on the desktop, but there is no files in the breast.

    Hello

Whenever you delete a user account, you will be prompted to "Delete" or "Keep files" and continue with the deletion of the user account.

If you choose "Keep files" when the user account is deleted, by default, the files and the data user is in \Users folder, where is the location where windows is installed for example C:\.

For example, if you deleted the user account 'Test', then the details will be available here C:\Users\Test.
We recommend that you place in the users directory and check if there is no file.

NOTE: If you choose the option to save files i.e. "keep files" then delete the user account, nothing much can be done to recover the files.

For more information on user profiles, see this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-are-user-profiles

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • How can I create a new user account any movement towards it and delete the old

Win7 need to create a new user ACCT. move all the Info for it because want to rename the computer, and then delete the old user account

To create a new user profile

To create a new profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile will also be created.

    1. Open a user account by clicking on the button start , by clicking on the Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.

    2. Click on manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Click on create a new account.

    4. Type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

To copy files to the new user profile

After creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

    1. Log on as a user other than the new user that you created or the user that you want to copy the files.

    2. Open Documents by clicking on the button start , and then clicking Documents.

    3. Click on the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.

If you don't see the Tools menu, press ALT.

    4. Click the view tab, click hidden files and folders, clear the Hide protected operating system files check box, and then click OK.

    5. Find the C:\Users\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed, and where ancien_nom_utilisateur represents the name of the profile you want to copy the files to.

    6. Select all the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:

      • Ntuser.dat

      • Ntuser.dat.log

      • Ntuser.ini

    7. Click the Edit menu and then click on copy.

If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

    8. Look for the C:\Users\New_Username folder, where C represents the drive Windows is installed, and New_Username is the name of the new user profile you created.

    9. Click the Edit menu and then click on paste.

If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

    10. Sign out and then sign back in as a new user.

If you have messages in e-mail, such as Windows Mail, you must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. If everything is working properly, you can delete the old profile.

  • delete, disable, remove the guest user account

    Hello

I came across a lot of similar questions asked about deletion/deletion/disabling guest user account. the posted questions earlier and google has not provided me with answers specific questions.

first of all, I know now that the guest user account is a system file that should not be deleted.
    1. Why is this?

I enabled/activated the account invited for a day and people with mobility reduced/turned off later. I asked before and got a response that I should not have allowed the first guest account.
    2. Why is it?
    3. What's the harm in having activated once the guest account?

the record of the guest user now appears in the c:\users\ location. It was not before but the fact now since that once I enabled guest account.
    4. do one thing 'ok' or is it a bad thing?
    5. What are the policies on the restoration of windows and system folders without having to reinstall the windows operating system?

    and finally
    6. in case the guest user account has been disabled/disabled, windows remove settings for it and wipe this account?

Thanks in advance, forward your answers.

    Hello

A guest account allows people to have temporary access to your computer. People using the guest account cannot install software or hardware, change settings, or create a password.

Once the guest account is enabled, you will see the comments folder in the users folder and you will not be able to remove it. And when also disable you the folder of comments will be present, but it will not be enough space.

If the comments have saved any file on your computer, it will be present in the folder of comments, it won't cause damage to your other user accounts.

For more information, see the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.

    What is a guest account?
