User account deleted when I uninstalled Office 2010 Beta, how do I get it back?
Details:
- I am using Windows XP Pro SP3
- I had already installed MS Office 2010 Beta. When I went to use it recently, I learned the period Beta was over and I was given two options: 1) buy Office 2010 or 2) uninstall. I chose to uninstall. When I restarted the computer after uninstalling, my user account has been deleted.
- Fortunately, I had an another user account with administrative access, but it is never/rarely used, so when I opened this account is like watching a new computer desk. I see again all my files on the C drive of the other account, but they are all read only files.
- I restarted the computer in safe mode at a given time, with networking and could see my old user account. Now I'm trying to find a way to recover permanently.
- Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
Hello
It could be that the user account registry key is deleted which is instructed to show the user account name in the login screen. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.
Step 1:
I suggest to do a restore of the system on the computer and check if you are able to see the user account.
How to restore Windows XP to a previous state
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/306084
Step 2:
I suggest start in the other user accounts that you have never used before and then remove the Office 2010 system by referring to the article below.

For example, Iobit Advanced System Care 6 requires user account control to start, while none of the programs Microsoft Office requires user account control to start, but they are all executables (*.exe). Why?
EXE files may have a small text file embedded in them that controls this behavior (and other). A file called programname.manifest in the same folder can do it too, but one stand-alone exe substitute manifests (vista and later).
Here is one that requires the Admin run and also uses 6 worm of the common controls.

I turned off the computer entered Safe Mode and use system restore to go back before the update, and the problem is solved.
How can I get new updates to load without loading the bad update which is mess up my computer? And or isolate the bad update a huge hassle?

Click on the below link to check what are the updates must be installed on the system and manually install the updates one after you download it from the Microsoft Web site. When I install programs under the user administrator account I can't access the programs of a Standard user account. If I install the program under the Standard user account, I can not see or have access to this account program. Also how can I allow file and folder sharing between user accounts?
Hello1. this happens with all programs? Some programs have the current installation option or all users during installation. If your program does not work, you can install it and place a shortcut to it in the location of the "All Users" Start Menu. In this way, all users will have a shortcut for what they can copy and place where they like.Step 1: To add the shortcut for the program to all users, try the following steps.
1 copy the icon to launch the program and paste it to the location: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program
NOTE: ProgramData is a hidden folder.
Check 'Show hidden files' for the steps in this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files
2. Once you are done with step 1, you will be able to display the icon of the program here: start-> all programs-> programsStep 2: Once you install a program in the standard user account. You see the program launch icon on the desktop?
If Yes, then try these steps.
1 right-click on the icon, click on properties.
2. click on the Compatibility tab.
3. under privilege level, place a check on "run this program as an administrator".
4. apply changes and start the program.Step 3: If step 2 fails, then install the program as an administrator in the standard user account.
1. right click on the Setup icon, click Run as administrator.
2 follow the instructions in the wizard to install the program. For more information on the 'sharing files essentials' visit this link:

New Windows Vista user account access
I'm running a new Dell with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and have had no problems of access to our wireless internet access. I created a new user account (not asked) the other day, but for some weird reason, I can't access our wireless thanks to the new account.
The computer recognizes the wireless signal, but there seems to be a connection problem. How can I get the internet to work on the new user account?
And just in case where, I know absolutely nothing about computers. We are talking about computers for the tips zero here, please. Thanks for the quick response, the lot.
I've followed all the steps and was still scratching my head, but an error message popped up while I was in the new account, saying: there was an adapter error. I have a D - Link USB wireless network card thingamijiggy, so I took and plugged into the computer.
He then asked me to confirm my password to access the wireless - perfect internet connection account, no worries.Bravo again.

I have disabled this feature, and now the toolbar of notification tells me that all the five minutes. I can't figure out how to disable this notification. It makes me crazy! It's almost worse than Vista asking me if I'm sure I want to do after EACH keystroke keyboard...
In Control Panel, go to the Security Center. On the left side, click the "change the way Security Center alerts me" and choose "Don't warn me and don't display the icon (not recommended)."
