Dell 1600n printer goes offline after a stop / restart

I have a Netgear 802.11 wireless router g with an HP 6840 printer & a Dell 1600n multifunction printer connected by ethernet cables.

My different computers Macintosh, Windows XP and Vista have been printing of these priinters via wireless without problem for years past connections.

I got a new laptop Lenovo T410, with Windows 7, in January 2010.

Can I install two remote printers on that system and then print them via the wireless router.

However, when I stop or restart the T410, the 1600n printer is "offline".

I then have to 'Remove' this printer and re-install (via "add a printer") on the T410.

It seems 'persistence' through a system reboot with the Windows 7 system.

The HP printer works fine, the status "Ready" showing after a reboot.

Both printers to work well after the closures and restarts on Mac, XP, and Vista systems.

I use a static IP address for the 1600n and have the latest driver for Windows 7 from Dell.

Another piece of data:
During the process of "Add a printer", the HP printer is automatically detected, I select, and then add it.
The Dell printer is not discovered, and I have to add it as a TCP/IP address, the "generic device', type"Dell network printer", then the specifically"Dell MFP Laser 1600n.

Any ideas would be appreciated - Lenovo and Dell technical support will not help solve - suffice to say that it is a problem of Microsoft.

This means that the machine has not received response to an SNMP request to the network adapter on the printer and when the frequency is not received the printer is marked offline.

Uncheck SNMP on the Ports tab.   When SNMP is not checked that there will be no SNMP request to the device and the Standard TCP/IP Port will not mark the printer offline.   When the network cable is disconnected from the printer, the port monitor will always schedule the print job and work will go into an error state rather than not print until the device responds to the SNMP query.

As the device supports LPD Printing Service, you might add the LPR Port Monitor, add to the LPR Port configuration / feature in Windows by using information provided by Dell.  The queue name, supported by the LPD service running on the network card in the printer is lp.

There is also a command line utility when installing the LPR Port Monitor function.  lpq.exe

lpq IPofPrinter Pei lp s

This query and returns the status of the service on the device.

    Hello

I have a problem which seems to be common, but I can't find a solution simple 'step by step'.  So my apologies in advance for you who are technically much more advanced that I am and know that this has already been answered.

I have a sony vaio laptop running Windows 7.  At home, I have a printer all-in-one HP C7180 I connected wireless on my home network.  FYI, I have a netgear wireless router.

Once I have installed the printer on the network, everything works fine until I closed my computer.  On restarting, the printer is detected as offline by my laptop.  Now, my solution is to uninstall the printer and reinstall it.

If someone would be kind enough to give a detailed set of step by step instructions on how to solve this problem, it would be much appreciated.  I read on the definition of a static IP address rather than dynamic, but I would need one together instructions if this is indeed the way to go.

    Thank you.

my continuous wireless printer going offline - how can I 'stabilize' the connection?

    Hello gerrie,.

What I would do is put off the printer and the router so

-essentially them turning off for about 10-15 seconds

-and then feed the router back on waiting for all the lights turn on completely

    - and after that is back in the market I would re - turn on the printer and re-establish the connection between the printer and wireless network

  • Wireless printer goes offline

I have windows XP and a wireless Epson printer which worked for about 4 months.
Lately the printer when I power the PC goes offline and I can't get it back on line unless I have reinstall the driver.

  • Network connected to PSUS4 printer goes offline when the PC is shut down...

I am close to giving up this problem, help would really be appreciated.

My printer network disconnects when my computer is shut down or sleep. I have a Samsung printer connected to a print server through a router Linksys WAG160N Linksys PSUS4 wireless. Two computers that are hard cables to the router to see and access the printer without problem. I now have a new laptop Sony Vaio (Vista OS) that accesses the router WAG160N wireless. The Vaio connects to the internet OK, but everytime I shut down the PC, the printer is offline and remains offline to the Vaio when I start again.

If I remove the printer of the Vaio and then 'add printer' again, by selecting the option "Add a network, wireless or bluetooth printer" shows the printer as \\LK90a6dd\p1 network is available. But if I try to connect to it, I have "X Windows cannot connect to the printer". If, instead of this, I choose 'Add a local printer' and select the existing port "\\LK90a6dd\p1 (renderer client-side) ' and the printer driver series Samsung ML1210, the printer is installed, works very well and remains online - until I have stop the Vaio, it is. Then delete the printer, install the printer etc to access the printer again.

    Pleeeaaassseee help...

Kevin, I owe you a drink. I have added the printer as a local printer (as opposed to network), entering the IP, etc print driver, restarted the computer, and... the printer remained online. Unlike many critics of Vista, I found that it is a reasonable operating system. But maybe it's the glitches like these that give it a bad reputation. Thanks a lot for your help. Really enjoyed.

  • Guard printer goes offline and create a copy of the printer

    Hello

I have a printer that does not have very easily the first time. First time, I actually connected via usb first and then installed driver after. I then deleted and did the opposite way around. This seemed to work properly.

However, it will work for awhile and then the printer will be displayed in devices and printers, but does not print anything OR a copy of the printer is displayed.

I tried the passage of the printer with another of the same model and the question remains... so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the computer itself. It is running 32-bit win7. I also tried to change the printer usb cable and cable supply.

So now when the present question, either on the printer market at least will get it print again... OR I need to go into print management and remove the printer and driver package and then restart and then reinstall the driver and connect... it works so perfectly for perhaps a day or two...

The printer is a printer of labels Zebra with the latest driver.

I have a second printer running on this machine very well (it was installed after the other printer).

I wonder if I need to do a complete withdrawal (registry and all) of any trace of the printer to reinstall it?

Go to your Control Panel Printers folder. Look for your printer. Right-click on it and make sure that it is set to "use printer online".
Remember if your printer is turned off the power, it will show as "offline". When you turn it on it should automatically go back to 'online '.
You can always change where I showed you.
This should take care of it.

    Hi bunkyb43 ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that the printer takes a while to connect to the printer once the computer has been restarted or powered.

I've seen this problem before and I could solve the problem by simply ensuring that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

Once the printer is connected to the wall outlet, please use the power button to do a proper feeding cycle.  This will make a semi be able to reset the printer.

I'll also give you a document ensuring that the fax settings are correct. Please click the link for "Cannot send or receive faxes".

Write me back if you have any questions or concerns.

    See you soon,.

  • Printer goes offline on its own

My first Officejet Pro 8500 (A909n) has suddenly gone 'offline '.

When I go to tools, network, Wireless Setup Wizard"the printer detects my network and joins it.  I print something without any problem, but later, when I try to print something else, she's still "offline".

What else do I need to do this, it will stay online?

I have a HP Laserjet 400 and an all in one injet 8600 uses Windows 8. One or two continue 'offline' at least once a week.  These computers are connected through an ethernet cable or wireless computers on network. When my count says that a printer is offline and I try to print from another computer on the network, the printer works fine. So for me, this problem is a computer problem and not a general printer problem.

I found that in all cases, the my computer print spooler service was inadvertanly off. I don't know why this happens.  If you are using Windows 7 or earlier, press the Start button, type "services.msc" in the run box without quotes, and then press ENTER. If you use Windows 8 go to services.msc screen and startup type, and then press ENTER. This opens the Services window. Go down to the line that indicates the print spooler. Right-click on words and on the left, click on restart. It solves my problem.

It turns out that when the computer says the printer is offline, it means that the computer cannot ping the printer. In my case, it's a problem with the computer itself.

  • Reference Dell 1815dn keeps going offline

I have a 1815dn laser that works very well with my XP machines, but it has constantly disconnects when I print from my Dell laptop XPS M1330 Vista one. I talked to Dell support and thought that the problem has been resolved with a new driver, but not joy.  Someone knows how to get back to zero once it disconnects - and I don't just mean go to the average drop-down list and clicking on online use.  That is already set correctly - but it is always offline.  I have to say that it still works perfectly XP systems when the Vista machine cannot access.  Thank you.

I had a similar problem, but with all the PC cannot print.  Just kept showing offline.  I came across an article which solved my problem, maybe it will for you too!

Under the printer properties Ports tab, click on Configure Port.  Uncheck SNMP enabled state and click OK.  Of course, there was a change in how SNMP works with SP2.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8625: Printer goes offline

I recently buy a printer of HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8625 at Costco.  I find that often, it disconnects and I must it turn off and restart to connect to the network.  Is there any solution for this?

Hi there, you may need to assign a static IP address to the printer who, in many cases, results in a more stable connection. Instructions for how to do that are included in this link, as solution # 3.

I hope that this information helps to solve this problem.

    Best.
