  I'm a student in computer engineering at the University of Waterloo 1A, and I run a very serious problem with my HP Envy 15 "TouchSmart laptop computer running Windows 8.1. It is a problem that just started today, and I'd rather have a first support here before going to see the technical support Office sometimes tomorrow. It has to do with the screen and the fans where the Power LED lights in white, just as when the laptop works properly.

  (I have warranty on the laptop when it was purchased last June, except that if I find that I need to get a replacement, I'll lose all my work, I did on that since I started my semester.) It's so silly of me not to have all my work saved on a backup, because I have an external hard drive. Problem is, I've had too many problems in getting myself organized, I'm not being open-minded as I should, and worse, I'm not a balance between life and work at home.)

  Before I had my MATH 117 conference (Calculus 1 Engineering), I was in a nearby lab where my laptop was open and turned, works correctly. I've had NetBeans IDE running since I wanted to work on the second part of my current assignment of CS 137 (principles of programming). Because it was almost time for my presentation, I closed the laptop by simply moving the screen down on the keyboard, where it goes into mode 'sleep'. (Whenever I flip to the top of the screen, the laptop is supposed to return, and the sliding screen of Windows 8.1 connection will appear.)

  When I took my seat for reading, I wanted to spend a little time to work on my programming assignment.   I just wanted to give a few comments. When I walk, carry heavy bags and I want to watch the time I lift my arm to look at my Apple Watch and the screen does not light. Maybe its because the movement of the arm is subtle, since I am carrying heavy bags. I was wondering if that could be repaired since both times I tried it, annoyed me. Walk in a street busy NYC with my groceries, I would like to know something, briefly, on my watch as I walk with the duty to stop or to disembark the bags.

• Equium A300D - 16 c turns on but the screen does not show anything / remains black

  Hi, I have a laptop Toshiba Equium A300D - 16 c.

  It was fine until now...

  When I press the power button, my laptop turns on but the screen remains black / off.
  The indicator disk HARD is not Flash or anything... (in case that helps)
  I also tried to remove the battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds and then reconnect the power cord... Same laptop turns on but the screen is black.

  I tried to connect my laptop to my PC using a HDMI cable screen, but without success... Laptop turned on but monitor my pc showed nothing.

  I have not changed anything inside my computer laptop or unscrewed it.

  PS:
  Quite often, I kept my laptop on the bed/pillow it may have something to do with overheating or something.

  How did I get to this point:

  Yesterday, my laptop was fine, there was nothing wrong with her... I turned off during the night, but when I tried to turn it on this morning it is where I have faced this problem.

  Long ago, I had similar problem on my old Satellite. CPU was faulty. After replacing the CPU, everything was OK again.
  I put t really know what to say.
  Maybe you should contact Toshiba and let check your laptop. They have diagnostic tools and may know what is the problem.

• HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC: computer laptop HDMI to the TV does not

  I have a monitor of Vizio that I was able to connect to my laptop via a HDMI cable last month.  I did it several times without any problems, but less than a month later I tried to do it again and it does not work.  The monitor says there is no signal, whereas before it was a direct connection.  I don't know what happened.  Help.

• CS5.5 just started but the video does not play in the preview

  I just got a new (for me) Panasonic AC130P camera for my work / Office and recorded a few simple test shots.

  All the videos have been taken in MTS format / AVCHD 1920 x 1080 (1.0).

  When I put them in my sandbox, then click on it, the small preview on top box does not move and audio only comes through. When I click and drag it to the preview box, it only plays audio. I messed around with the output icon to see if I can get something, but all I get are waveforms etc to work, not the actual video, I shot.

  I am perhaps felt old scool (worked with a lot of DV, SVHS, etc., but never digital HD, it's my first time) for a large number of the HD parameters are really new to me. Am I missing something here?

  I have the feeling that it has to do with the video / map graphic, but all the world experienced this before? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

  What is the number and the date of your driver installed nVidia video?

  Y at - it a newer version of this card and your operating system, on the nVidia website? If so, I would like to download and install the most recent, and then test.

  I found the problem.

  It was the system ORACLE_HOME variable which had 3 different paths and one of those who was referring an earlier instance of the db.

  After modification, I started the start lsnrctl successfully!

  Unplug all usb devices, turn off the system and pull on the power cord.  Remove the battery if a laptop.  Wait a minute or two to make sure that all power had evacuated and then turn it on and see if the flash player works just in itself.

  Like your laptop is by train (heard the noise of the fan and LED is lit), but the screen remains black, I suggest you to watch the following document 'computer won't start (Windows 7, Vista, XP)'. Now, this document you have already done the hard reset so you won't have to do it again once, but the part you want to follow the steps, is symptom: LEDs flow, the fan noise is heard, but the display is black or white.

  Please let me know the results of the troubleshooting steps.
