Dell computers

Whenever I try to call Dell to fix my computer they log out or never answer. Their computers are always broken, slow or buggy. Yesterday, my computer froze everything when trying to type an e-mail. Dell cannot create all what is good Dell will never create a product that works well

Hi jasonman1,

  • Program delivery very slow without USB drive (not used) on DELL computers

    Hello

We have a general problem, if our LabWindows V8.1 XP software is running on DELL computers (without key USB; there is no function used by/with the USB key). Execution time of the program is about 10 times slower, if the USB is inserted. With USB inserted, program-execution time are ok.

With any other PC, a USB stick inserted does not cause this problem.

You have enabled for the (Microsoft ReadyBoost) USB ReadyBoost? I've never used this feature before, but I suspect that it is possible for it to have a negative impact on the performance of your system.

Hello @azarita and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you are having problems printing from your system.  I would like to help!

I would recommend you to do a power reset the printer.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I suggest also download and run the HP print and Scan doctor.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Why it is more possible to cutomise Dell computers?

Over the years, I bought 7 different computers from Dell, and the reasons for the man to have chosen Dell were:

    1. the fact that you can create a customized version - e.g. change processor or adding memnory to get exactly the required configuration.

2 Dell seemed still more advantageous to office for money than other providers.

I am now looking for another couple of computers and am disappointed to discover that rof neithe that above seem to be true.

The price is still reasonable, but is better than its competitors, but the biggest problem is that ease of construction custom seems to have disappeared to be replaced by the same set of pre-configured models which can be picked up in a computer store.  Pretty much the only option that is available is the color of the case (which, with any sense, cares about the color of a computer) and to add a set of expensive devices.

The base installation of custom build which has always been strongest selling point of Dell is spent.

    Why?

Wow, this is very useful.  So what you're saying, is that Dell is placed in the path of the 1980s, ordering things over the phone.  They already had their online Configurator available in the end of the 1990s.  It was part of the interest of their business model.  Easy to use, no relative to the menus of the phone and hold the button once.  No dealing with a sales person who doesn't even understand the basic techniques.  I don't want to lose 30-45 minutes on the phone trying to see if someone might be able to customize something.

I fear that the current state of their online system is probably the result of an attempt to limit the types of transactions, people can get.  What used to be coupons that have been good on any custom system is now valid on a single preconfigured machine.  So if you want a better processor or a different amount of memory, you're out of luck.  If you want to downgrade a component to save even more money, not a deal for you.

Almost all links to "Customize" a model on their Web site now allows you to do little more than change the warranty terms or add accessories.  At least for desktop computers and laptops.  The servers seem a little more configurable.

I miss the way things were about 6 years ago.

  • Relocation of 10 Dell computers with an OEM disc

I just bought 10 new business from Dell for my business PCs and am doing one installs own for each one (to rid the HARD drive out of the restore partition that I won't need to create partitions of disk and usually to clear any software delivered pre-installed trial). Each PC came with its own Windows 7 Professional 64-bit OEM drive.

My question is, can I legally use one OEM disc to reformat every single PC? All ten systems have the same accurate and provided hardware with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I think that the OEM drives are all the same - what is important is the license sticker COA affixed at the top of the PCs as well as the built-in product code hardcoded who is buried in the system BIOS.

    Fix?

Or what I need to use each individual DVD with the respective system, with which it came?

That's exactly what I did with Windows XP but I don't know if the granting of licenses and activation procedures have changed since then. And Yes, I'm only now migrating to Windows 7!

In fact, you can set up a PC as you like it with the operating system and drivers, image and restore it on every Dell computer.

I bought a reinstall dell dvd of windows vista professional 32-bit of a key for the product is usable on any other computer it is new, never its packaging and is proclaiming full version?

It is an OEM version, which is equiavalent to a full version (with the exception of licensing issues). What about using it on another computer, note three things:

    1. * any * copy of Windows can be used on a single computer, never two at once.

    2. a commercial version can be moved from one computer to another, but an OEM copy like yours can't. This is the license permanently binds to the first computer on which it is installed.

    3. it is probably locked in BIOS for Dell computers and install it on the other.

  • No screen, no image of the user, not dell, no stand-by and no hibernation

    Hello.

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 running Microsoft Windows XP Professional 2002 service pack 3.

I recently had to recreate the image on my computer a virus. I have more access to the screen of welcome to all. I tried to change the settings to enable the Welcome screen, but everything happens with , it is "a recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen and the fast user switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the program. "The following file name can help you identify the program that made the change: msgina.dll '

I can't recreate the image with the disks of origin of installation through computers of my work. These computers were purchased in bulk and of Microsoft Office is installed on the re-imaging utility.

My second problem, which I think has something to do with the first is there is no image of the user for all users of the start menu. I checked was not in classic mode, it appears that it is.

The basic software that comes with all Dell computers seems to be disabled. I tried the discs re - install for the sensor of ambient light, the sound card and many other functions of basic dell. Nothing Dell associate does not work. I think that it may have been blocked by the system.

My fourth and fifth question has to do with the closing of my computer. Because it is a laptop, I can normally, close the cover and she would be on stand-by until I again to open the lid. There is more to this. When I open the lid again now, it indicates that the computer is running, but the screen does not show anything. I had a problem similar to this in the past to do with the ambient light sensor, but saw that I can not install the drivers, I doubt very much that this error has nothing to do with them. Hibernation seems to freeze my computer when he's preparing for the hibernation. Then, of course, I had to be manually turned off and when I start again, I get the Blue Screen Of Death treatment.

I would be grateful any suggestions to solve these problems, and I confess that dell may also be responsible for some of these flaws. There are many more problems, but I won't bore you to their topic. And all of these problems stem from a system repair.

Recently install you / reinstall the operating system? If so, have you installed the drivers in the correct order? How to download and install drivers in the correct order

Windows 7/8 is supposed to provide the drivers of webcam for most Dell computers. If you system needs webcam drivers, go in driver downloads & enter your service tag, and then select your operating system. If your system is in need of drivers for the webcam, they will appear under entry.
