Dell Latitude E6400 LCD / LED video screen has partial display of vertical lines

Hello

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 on which display LED screen / video shows the stable vertical lines in the right half of the screen (partial view on the left side is good, see photo). I have already tested the external VGA port - it is displayed correctly on an external LCD display. The vertical lines are constant and the same brightness, regardless of the position of the lid of the laptop. This could be a problem with the inverter or the water of the LED screen? Or something else? Thanks in advance for any comments.

P. S. Please note that glow Golden on the top left of the screen is just a reflection of ambient light.

It is not the inverter (assuming that the display has a);  who simply controls the backlight.  It may or may not be the cable - it's not likely.  It resembles a billboard damaged.

    Hello

    I have a Dell Latitude E6400

    The specifications are:

    Intel Centrino 2

    4 GB OF DDR2 RAM

    HARD DRIVE 160 GB

    Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz

    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M 256 MB DDR2

I'm doing a clean install of Windows 8 pro 64 bit. The problem is that when I get to the stage where the installation application to connect to a wifi, all of a sudden, the screen goes black and then nothing happens. Sometimes I am able to move on to the next step where the installation process asks if I would like to use express settings or customize it. The same thing happens on this stage too. I could not go any further than this step.

I tried dozens of times, even tried 2 different iso files and event tried a 32-bit Windows 8.

Same thing happens evrytime, black screen and then nothing. I wasn't able to find that everything related to the internet.

One last thing, if it's a problem of display driver, I can't set either because I already formatted my HARD drive.

Can someone help me please:(c'est vraiment frustrant.)

  • Dell Latitude E6400 running slow

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 - it has 4 GB of RAM and a processor 2.53 Ghz running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit - how is it is slow? I ran all the troubleshooting I can think, made malware scans, virus scans, and it is still slower than my other laptop that has 1 GB of RAM and a processor 1.73 Ghz - ideas? Thank you!

The problem is that the CPU is overheating and when it the fact that the processor at 800 mhz speed and stay there the CPU goes to 100% usage and the system dies.  I had this problem for 2 years before I understood what it was.  I took off the bottom of the computer (a screw in the middle).  Removed the heatsink to the CPU/GPU and cooling fan.  I have removable fan and removed the therma spent the CPU and the GPU thermal pad.  I have then divide a tube of thermal paste Arctic Silver 5 Radio Shack ($10) and replaced the heat sink and let it heal from one day to the next.  I also bought a block of cooling fan powered to the computer but never needed to use it.  The machine works like a monkey assed stipped running multiple video streams at the same time and cool enough to keep al running stayng.  I was ready to relegate this machine to a storage device, but now it it GREAT.  Good luck

  • factory setting dell latitude e6400

I have a Dell Latitude E6400, it came with Windows Vista 32-bit, there now Windows 7 64 bit. should I try to go back to Vista or just stay with Windows 7 64 bit?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

You can continue with Windows 7 64 bit. It is safer and more stable than Windows Vista. You can get all the necessary drivers for the hardware of the Dell Web site, in order to work with Windows 7 will not be a problem.

  • After that start monitor/screen becomes black with visible vertical lines

After that start monitor/screen becomes black with visible vertical lines. Move the mouse shows an activity going on behind the disorder. My son says video card?

    Hi Melissa,

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·         Have you checked the issue by connecting a different monitor?

Step 1: It seems to be a hardware issue to me. Check if the cables are well connected.

Step 2: Connect another monitor to the computer and see if the problem persists.

  • The latitude E6400 LCD is dim/dark

I have a Latitude E6400 with Vista. When I boot, I see the bios and the running of State Bar. as soon as it starts at the window, the screen goes black/sun. I can still see, but it is very very light. It doesn't matter if it is on battery or AC is fine when I plug in an external display. I tried key fn and arrow making, but which was useless. could the backlit feature on the LCD is dead? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am facing exactly the same problem with my computer laptop studio 1555. My research on line up to tell me that this is very probably the inverter which is bad.

The fact that it has very low picture indicates that the screen is probably ok.

A possible culprit is the hinge switch that turn off the screen when folded down. If this does not work when you lower and open on the external screen, my guess is that the switch is probably ok.

The third possibility is the backlight ccfl lamp. What I generally find people reporting is that the screen begins to turn red before the ccfl lamp turns off. If we do not face that then the lamp should probably be ok.

I'll order a new card of the inverter and replace it and pray with my fingers crossed.

  • (Dell Latitude E6400) Windows 7 64 bit Dell control point

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on my Latitude E6400. I can't find any way to install the Dell Control Point. I got the Pack of drivers to install. I found a single download of the Security Manager who has worked, but I would like to than the power one Manager.

I looked on this forum a few times and all the links I click redirect just me at the page downloads and drivers. I get an error saying that my service pack is not supported... I'm on Windows 7 Service Pack 1. I have also some 32-bit errors, but it's my fault to have downloaded the 32 bit version.

Someone has a link to the full package of checkpoint Dell (Power Manager, Manager of connections, Security Manager) that works on Windows 7 64 bit?

    Hello

    1. what happens when you start the laptop, you receive no error message?

  • I asked before but everyone has discovered what causes vertical lines on the screen?

I have vertical lines on my screen about 6 or 7 and his worst do. They go to various shades of pink, green and yellow. I asked if anyone knew the answer later when there was only 1, and even if other people had this problem no one knew the answer. Has anyone discovered yet because its getting so irritating, I think I need a new machine. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Rupture of the membranes that make up the screen is what causes the problem.

Rupture may be caused by indifferent manufacturing, overzealous pressure while cleaning and old age.

Sometimes the graphics card can go wrong, but they will generally 'very bad', not just some annoying lines on the screen.

In the end, you will have t get the screen replaced... :-)

  • Qosmio G30-137 - video card problem - the bug of vertical lines

    Hi members,

Today my Qosmio G30-137 started to make trouble showing vertical lines that look like this:

    ''''' ''''''' '''''' '''''''
    '''' ''''''' '''''' '''''''

After having used the product Windows disk recovery could not start early and came up with a blue screen with the error code:

    + failure of page in the nonpaged area STOP 0 x 00000050 (0xC09C3044, 0x00000000, 0X804DA90AA, 0 X 000000002) +.

Basically, this indicates that the RAM - memory Cache L2 or preserved is dead. But I also learned that the graphics card can be smoked.

After the blue screen, you will not get the system to normal operation, no matter what you try.

I strongly advise to check if your Qosmio is under warranty and see your reseller for Exchange. Fortunately I bought mine 2006/06/06 so its still under warranty (even if only a left view days).

Additional information: another Member of this forum has had a similar problem and noted that the entire motherboard must be changed causing costs of USD 700.00 and more!

I will let you know what I found myself with.

    The Q

Unfortunately, this sounds like a serious problem of material as other members suggested, the GPU (graphics card) may be defective and therefore replacement is necessary.

The point is that the GPU is soldered on the motherboard and it of not possible to remove the graphics chip of the card. In most cases, the entire motherboard must be replaced to solve graphic problems.

In my opinion, you should contact your ASP as soon as possible.
Technicians should be able to help you to explain the situation and to issue and ask for later handling.

    Good luck buddy
