  • Network wireless controller does not work on Dell Inspiron 510 m

Reinstalled XP on Dell Inspiron 510 friend m and it connect to the Internet via a USB of Belkin adapter.

While on the internet, I downloaded and installed all the updates from Microsoft, and updated drivers.
I got the correct location (U.K.) Network cards:
    Intel Pro/100 VE Network Connection
Dell R83099 TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini - PCI Card downloaded and installed.
The Wireless does not appear in Device Manager.
Yellow question mark in the other poster peripheral device manager > network controller.
I can't find a driver for it anywhere.
The Dell site does not recognize the serial number and I am at a loss to know where to look next.
I found a lot of references to others having exactly this problem, but have not seen a solution.
Really need help on this point,
    TIA

It seems a little weird that the serial number was not recognized.  Have you tried to contact Dell and ask them about it?

Why R83099 Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card?  This isn't one of the choices for the adapter driver wireless for an Inspiron 510 m--> http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19 (that file doesn't even seem the correct driver for a Dell TrueMobile 1300; the linked page offers R143355. EXE for the device).

I suggest either (a) call/email Dell and know what particular wireless adapter is in the laptop and what driver you should download or (b) open the cover of the mini-PCI card and visually identify (if possible)--> http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins510m/sm/upgrades.htm#999869 and then go to the driver page linked above and get the correct driver.

    Hello

On a different computer, go to your computer manufacturers website, add the name of the template in the search bar of support page and download all the drivers.

Place it on a USB stick and install the drivers first network so that you can get online.

My Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop has a DVD/CD rom drive.  It loads all the CD I want and them automatically opens on the D drive.  When I put in a DVD movie it will not play.  I open my computer, and then look at the D drive, and it does not even recognize that there is a DVD inside but it shows a screen of a CD that I put in there.  This tells me that it works and it has a green light on the side which shows.  Also, when I insert the DVD it makes sounds as it tries to recognize, but then it stops and does not appear.  Can anyone help?  I really appreciate it.  I'm not very savvy computer.  I know that some in this topic because I am a teacher and try to catch up with things, but I'm certainly no computer technology.  Thank you very much!  Let me know if I need to give more info.  I think the reader is Sony CRX835EK but I'm not 100% sure on this one here.

    1. what browser do you use to visit Web sites?

    2. If you are using Internet Explorer, then what is the version?

    3. What is the error message when you access a Web site?

    4. what security software is installed on the computer?

I suggest you try the following steps if you use Internet Explorer to browse.

Method 1: How to reset Internet Explorer settings

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923737

  • WMP freezes, playback and time counter freeze and after a few seconds it will start from the point where it stopped.

Original title: WMP 11 continues to stop audio playback

I use WMP 11 for months with no reading problems but since yesterday evening he continues to stop for about 20 seconds every five minutes or so. When she did this, WMP freezes - meter reading and time to gel and I get the hourglass - and then after 20 seconds or more, the trail starts from where it stops. What is happening on all the tracks I did not play a single. I tried 20 audio files (mp3 all) through a dozen different albums. In addition, the gap between tracks seem longer than usual. I feel that it is looking for the data and playback stops because the time it takes to find the data is longer than the amount of data he has for playback? Either way, my files are stored on an external drive, and I'm now ask to update WMP for 'monitor folders' once again.

I also downloaded a new copy of WMP 11 but this has not fixed the problem.

I ran Fix It from Microsoft, but it has not to report any issue so I'm stumped. Any help appreciated thanks.

  • My computer does not connect to the Internet. Event ID 7003, "the TCP/IP protocol driver service depends on the non-existent service below: IPSec."

    Hello!
I am working on a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop for a friend. She has Windows HP Home Edition, SP3 installed.
He said that Saturday night he started to act funny and wouldn't connect to the Internet. There were a few popups then begins, and he did not know if they were connected to not go on the Internet.
He had the rootkit.zeroaccess infection. I used Combofix to remove it. It won't always get on the Internet, either via a wi - fi or ethernet connection.
Looking at the event viewer, I see event ID 7003, "the TCP/IP protocol driver service depends on the non-existent service below: IPSec."
Then, event 7001, "(NLA) network location awareness service depends on the service protocol driver TCP/IP which could not start due to the following error: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.".

I copied ipsec.sys from another XP Home machine which worked and stuck in the Windows\System32\drivers directory and it still does not work.

    Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
