Device driver base system missing + volume buttons do not work

Hello

I have a SL400 and upgraded to windows 7, sold separately, as I bought before June 29, 2009. I installed the op system and 4.0 thinkvantage system update to install the drivers. Just fine, except 1 thing (actually 2) as Device Manager indicates that it y 2 missing drivers, poster-->--> Device(this displayed 2 times one under like 2 drivers are missing) Base system devices. I don't really know what devices here as it is not indicated. The other problem is that the volume buttons do not work. It is more updated available through the TVT system so update... No idea what can be the problem?

Thank you

David

All right, had basic system--> Ricoh card reader device. Installed the driver and works correctly. The volume buttons still do not work.

Hi my Sansa Clip + has been for some time on the rain and I guess that wet - volume keys do not work, all other functions OK

First of all, NEVER try to turn on or turn on an electronic device while it is still wet!

You will very probably short something internally that will kill him forever!

    2. the warranty is for MFG. any defect of manufacture or material only! It does not include misuse of customer, as leaving in the rain, take it into the shower with you, a fall in the toilet, he swims, wear or leave it in your pocket and then do your laundry.

    2. SanDisk has not not any Center electronic "fix."

The only thing you can do is to place the device in a bag of uncooked rice dry several days absorb moisture inside.  Since you've already played with wet it is doubtful that this will help, but it won't hurt to try.

  • The CD/DVD drive malfunction: one missing, the other does not work

My HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop running Vista, came with a CD/DVD drive that appeared as a reader of CD (e) and (f) HD DVD player, with the hard drive and windows repair partition C: and D:.  There, the E: drive seemed to have disappeared, and it is the reader who would access it when I put a CD to read from.  The HD player never worked to this end and of course now that I only have the "F:" drive, and it tells me to insert a disc, despite the fact that there is a disc in there.  And I have no idea of what I did.

I right click on the HD drive properties and go to the Hardware tab.  WDC (Buncha numbers) ATA device is listed as type of hard drives, and UTIHAX (even numbers) SCSI CdRom Device is listed as a DVD/CD-ROM drives drive (Yes, with the ').  Both work properly, according to the properties of the device.

I tried to disable and re-enable the it.  I tried to uninstall and allow the pilot to resettle.  Nothing doin ' sofar, so I was wondering if any of you have any other ideas I could try.

I'd love to hear them!  Let me know what you need.

    Hello

Even if the conditions are slightly different the same cause may be at stake.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    Hello

It seems that the laptop was preinstalled with the system of 64-bit Windows 8.

Use you still win it 8?
A few months earlier, the new 8.1 Win was released by SM.
I recommend you to upgrade the win 8 to 8.1 Win exactly following the instructions step by step by Toshiba
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

After upgrade from 8.1 to win, you need to update and install all Toshiba drivers earn 8.1.

After, I suppose that the function keys work ok.

  • iPhone 6: my home button is not working, help! Touch ID works well.

My Home button stop working ALL of a SUDDEN! I drop my phone on the ground / water or whatever. It just stop working alone. Help!

Have you ever tried troubleshooting mentioned in this article?

The Home button is on the front of your iOS device, downstairs. If the Home button does not work, follow these steps:

    1. Press the sleep/wake button to lock your device.
    2. Wait a few seconds.
    3. Press the Home button. Your device has to wake up.

If your device doesn't wake up, follow these steps. Test the home button after each step:

    1. Restart your device.
    2. Look for debris or dirt around the home button and clean it with a soft cloth.
    3. Remove any protective film or matter that covers the Home button.

If the Home button is not even wake up the device, or if the switch is damaged, contact Apple technical support.

I have a Dell XPS One A2010 - I reformatted the old Windows Vista operating system and installed a new Windows 7 operating system.  Everything seems to work fine, but in the Device Manager, in "other devices", 2 "base system device" I do not have the current drivers and I can't find it on the Dell website or any other place.  Can you help me?

Yes, I went on the Dell site, but they were not useful.  After some extensive research, I found that the basic system 2 devices focused on the rich built in card reader and was able to solve the problem.

My optical drive does not show in the "Device Manager", the eject button does not work - I can only eject through the pin hole.

This means that the drivers are missing or that the disc is broken?

    I tried to restart.

Original title: Reader in mind windows 7

Its possible the drive has failed. Is this an internal or an external drive? In both cases, make sure that all cables are properly connected and functional, including the power cables. If its a USB external drive then try another USB port.

But, assuming that you tried to update the drivers (get the latest compatible drivers on the manufacturers for your brand/model/OS(32/64 bit) PC support site and install to see if that helps - first set a system restore point)) and then see if this MS article helps - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems?wa=wsignin1.0
