  HP PSC 1317 all-in - One Printer driver Windows 7 64 bit does not.  I tried to install the driver after the incredibly long download (362 MB) to be told by windows that there is no driver.  I have uninstalled the software 3 times and reinstalled.  I unplugged, disconnected, re-downloaded and re-installed.  I downloaded the 64 bit vista drivers (they do not work).  I came to your site to seek support that is denied to me because the printer is out of warranty.  Unless, of course, I want to pay for it.  Which I did, after spending a considerable time (see above) trying to get it work on Windows 7.  Last thing to install on another machine, which I just do exactly the same result, and no sign of anyone else having the same problem everywhere.

  Now what can I do to get this printer to work?

  

  I solved this by using Windows update, which then installed a driver in the end.

  This was not a great experience.

  Why have a download for the version of 64-bit Windows 7 for this printer that puts all the other bloatware of HP but does not contain any driver.  Then you perform the update from Microsoft to get a signed HP driver?  Why can't the HP driver actually be content in the download presumed HP so you can Dodge all the crap software I just uninstall anyway.  A huge waste of time and effort.  Two weeks to solve a problem that should have been done in twenty minutes.

  This morning at the start of my ThinkPad W520, the player no longer works. A glance in the (Windows 7, 64-bit) Device Manager shows the 'Base system device' and points out that "the drivers for this device are not installed." Some googling shows others with similar problems in the past; recommendations include installing a card reader driver Ricoh for Windows XP or Vista; It did not work. I can't find a way to install it. I tried installing driver exe files and searching the same files using the browse-for-the window Windows files during the installation of the drivers for the Base system device.

  Seriously, * beep *? I lost more than two hours on Sunday morning trying to solve this problem. It worked yesterday. I did install new software crazy, or any software besides. Why this happens and more importantly, how can I FIX it?

  This morning, ran Windows automatic update; I don't know if the updates were designed to the card reader, but the driver is now installed and the operation of the device. Too many updates to list them all, but thank you all for your help. Between the time I opened this thread and now probably I rebooted my machine 30 times and tried all combinations of drivers + restart. Then, poof, this morning, it is fixed.

  I am running Windows 7 on a HP Pavilion a1600n and sometimes in the last month the CD/DVD drive stopped recognizing DVDs and CDs. It is opening and closing, and turn the disc when I put them in the drive, simply do not recognize anything beyond that.

  From what I could find online code 10 was a general hardware error. I tried switching to another Cd/DVD drive and even changed the cable to the inside to see if it was the error, it was not. I tried to find some kind of solution online, nothing helps.
