Device USB drivers do not install

Whenever I try to install the drivers, I get an error saying its used by another process.

The Device Manager shows "the drivers for this device are not installed [Code 28]"

Earlier today, I tried one of the devices and the USB installer said it has been installed correctly, but then when I went into Device Manager it says the same error [Code 28]...

Also, I noticed that when the files could not be installed, they have created a folder in the local user with what seems like characters generated randomly and inside each folder is a file (?) catalog of security with the relevant names that I try to install the devices.

Here are some pictures of what I mean...

Appreciate anyone willing to help me with this!

I guess my last suggestion really worked. Who were the last I can think.

Now, the system cannot find the specified file. Perhaps, reference is made to the file INFCACHE.1. Fix INFCACHE.1 and SFC scan should have corrected it.

Make sure that usb support is enabled in the bios.

The devices were included under other devices, because they not have the drivers installed. The fix it is usually to remove the devices under him and search the hardware changes. You can try this.

Try running the Fixit on the following link. This is for XP, but it should work for Vista because they have simillar Manager of devices. I saw that this posted on the Windows 7 forums.

How to troubleshoot unknown devices listed in Device Manager in Windows XP

You can try to follow the methods listed in article.

You can also try updating your chipset. Windows Update can do, I see that yours off.

    1. what web browser do you use?

    2. are you unable to go online?

    3. have you made a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

This error indicates that the drivers for the device are not installed.

The ID of the seller seems to be related to the drivers of Intel.

You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in. If you are prompted for the driver and you don't have it, you can try to download the latest version of the driver from the computer or the device manufacturer's Web site.

You can also try to download the latest version of the computer manufacturer's website Chipset drivers and check if it helps.

All this time, of course running as administrator. I also FULLY formatted all my records, restored using my last year HP restore disks and still no sound. I also tried to uninstall all audio devices, (card webcam/usb headphones/graphic) I only put my old DVI graphics card in and still no luck.

Finally and above all I also updated the BIOS to the most recent (listed under windows 7 x 64 support) the BIOS has NO built-in option for audio. It is supposed to be less advanced, but it is not anywhere in the BIOS.

    Say hello to new soriano7709.

Everything points to what is a hardware problem.  Currently, the device is not detected by any software, including the operating system.  In addition, the device is not detected when using any operating system (Windows 7, Windows 8 or Linux).  It is highly unlikely for the three to have problems with the device unless it is the device itself that has the problem.

At this point you can either replace the motherboard in order to get the sound edge working again, or you can install another sound card, as in these examples.

If you think that answers your question be sure to mark the post as solved.  This helps other users find answers to their questions.

  • Intel Chipset and USB drivers won't install properly - no equivalent for Windows 7?

    Compal CL51
    2 GB RAM
32 bit Dothan CPU Intel Pentium M clocked at 1.8 GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card
    100 GB HD
    Windows Experience Index: 3.4

I was able to install Windows 7 Pro on my CL51 compal without any apparent hitches, except these:
    Intel (r) 82801DBM LPC Interface Controller 24CC
    Universal host controller Intel (r) 82801DBM USB 24 4

In addition, the function keys volume control does not even if the function for dimmness keys work. Maybe it is something chipset - I don't know because there is no other broken/alerted devices in Device Manager.

The LPC just shown as an unknown device without no driver interface. I sailed on the drivers from update-> Let me pick-> see her-> everything surfed down for intel and the LPC interface. To paraphrase, he said that it was "not guaranteed to work with System 7. Are you sure you want to do this? Your system might break. "I did anyway and now it manifests, but I don't know its proper operation, although he says he is.

The USB thing pops up, but then when I unplug the device that seems to use it (TrendNet Clearlink for Skype - model TVP-SP2) you get a triangle of yellow alert on Device Manager. It does not recognize when I plug it in. When I look at its properties in Device Manager, I get this in the status of the device: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ». There is no "troubleshooting."

The windows supports 43 page Code issue is unnecessary, pointing vaguely to the manufacturer of the device or intel - I can't be sure. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123)

    Code 43
    Recommended resolution

One of the motors controlling the unit notified the operating system that the device has failed in some way.

If you have already run the Troubleshooting Wizard, you can view the documentation for the hardware for more information about diagnosing the problem.

The only "documentation" that accompanies this was a quick start and user guide. It works halfway. It stops working correctly, and you end up having to reinstall the drivers if you unplug the unit. Every time.

The closest I can understand, I need Windows 7 support for all the things Intel 82801DB/DBM on my computer. The Intel site is too vague in it's style of support for downloads. I couldn't tell what to download, or even if I had the right to download.

As for the thing of volume of service - I am used to use it in Windows XP. I would of course only it in Win7.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what to try next, I would be grateful.

Thanks for the replies. I went on the Intel site.

I downloaded the chipset from the Intel site identification software. I discovered that I have a 855 Chipset of the PM. Then, I got on a chat session with the Intel Support cat.

The short of it is that there is no way to upgrade to this chipset regarding Windows 7 for Intel.

    The transcript of the conversation:

Intel: Hello. Please use the Customer Support chat service. We are pleased to be of service. How can I help you today?
you: I have a laptop CL51 compal, which uses the game of 855 PM chips, depending on the software of the identifier, I downloaded Intel. I need Windows 7 drivers, but they are not available for Win7 in the download area of support for this chipset. What can I do?
Intel: I apologize, but there are no drivers available for this operating system or Microsoft * Windows * Vista *.
you: when will they be available?
Intel: My apologies, but this controller has reached its end of life there will be no new updates for new operating systems software
you: I now have windows 7 running on the computer. It seems to work fine, except that one of the device drivers come with the yellow triangle. I can do everything I have to except the function keys are not express of adjusting the volume (volume up and down with function keys). How crucial the chipset is correct for a functional system?
Intel: This new operating system must have all the required software for this chipset work, so it should be good, but with limited capacities
you: Control Panel-> Device Manager-> other devices-> unknown device-> properties-> "the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information. To find a driver for this device, click Update driver. »
Intel: excuse me, but we would not know what device means the Device Manager, this chipset was not intended, and it is not tested for Microsoft * Windows * 7, at this point, you can use this operating system at your own discretion
you: Yes, I thought. However, when I go to the dashboard-> devices and printers-> laptop-> Trouble Shoot it seems to think it is called Smart@IO. Is something Intel?
Intel: He doesn't seem to be a controller of us
Intel: You may need to verify with the laptop manufacturer to see which devices are installed on this system
you: under control panel-> Device Manager-> other devices-> unknown device-> properties-> general it is said "location: on Intel (r)" 82801DBM LPC Interface Controller - 24CC "»
    you: this seems Intellish.
Intel: This is part of the chipset controller, but as mentioned, there is no software for this controller that run on Microsoft * Windows * 7 and this operating system must have the software required to make this mature product to work
you: so the problem of chipset is not relevant?
Intel: It seems to be, please keep in mind that you are using a non validated platform
you: it's the fact that I can't use function keys to change the volume of the sound related to the chipset?
Intel: Is not part of the chipset
you: so another driver is required for the volume function keys work correctly, no Intel...
Intel: OK, most of these devices is third-party components
you: OK, so if I don't use the chipset, what exactly he controls?
Intel: He will take care of i/o control for USB devices
you: Okay, that might be the reason why I can't get some USB HID devices to work. Anything with compatibility Win7 looks good, however.
you: I tried a TrendNet TVP - SP2 ClearLink Skype speaker. It works fine on other systems. Just not this one because of the thing at the end of life on end of Intel. It is likely that if they have a Win7 compatible driver I could operate or I'm stuck here?
you: it works still fine on new lenovo to my wife with Vista.
Intel: You may need to verify this issue directly with the manufacturer of your system with TrendNet
you: my system manufacturer is probably going to tell me that it is an end of life issue - referring me you Intel - but I bet you knew that already huh? . I'll check with TrendNet to see if they can build a new driver for Win7. Thank you. This clears up a lot of things. Hard drives seem to work well. Other USB devices work as well, especially if they are sized to work with Win 7. Once again thank you. Happy new year.
    Intel: You're welcome.

  • P300 drivers do not install sysprep

We recently got a few P300s to add to our environment.

The drivers for this device have been added successfully to our unified using DISM .wim image. After you apply the image to the P300, it goes through the usual process of sysprep and seems to be setting up the PC. However, it cannot join the domain and on logging as long as local administrator, he has in fact not all installed drivers P300.

Strangely, if I simply launch a manual 'Search for hardware changes' in the Device Manager, all devices installed very well. If the driver files are present and functional, but for some reason any on his machine is not installed automatically. Another way I can start the installation, is going in the device settings and to update Windows Update (even if it's just using those found locally).

I tried several ways to get this working, including "devcon rescan" running initially to the top, but nothing helped. In any case, they really need to settle during the sysprep process so that the ethernet controller install and he can join the domain correctly.

I also tried to recreate the image from scratch, but the problem persists, even though I explicitally drivers only P300. If I manually install or follow my steps above of course, they work fine... I could take a picture with them installed and add the drivers of the other models, but it's not ideal.

This problem will not occur on all other machines that we use this image, including many other models of Lenovo.
