• Find channels and cDAQ modules

  I have looked around the previous messages, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

  In most of my experience, I've implemented some DAQ and once the modules and channels are all in place, which is where they stay forever.

  Since I know things will not move, I create tasks in DAQmx.

  I'm working currently on a new installation program, but the problem is that in things cDAQ will not be in the same place every time.

  The application must read a number of strain gauges, which will be connected to the NI 9235 modules.

  It will take place anywhere from 1 to 3 modules attached, and they can be in one of the 8 available cDAQ chassis slots 9172.

  In addition, within a given module, anywhere from 1 to 8 channels will be connected.

  So basically, I guess my questions are running:

  (1) how many modules are connected and where?

  (2) in each module, the number of channels is turned on and how much is empty.

  From there on, I use DAQmx palette to take care of things.

  So with every new start of the program, you will have a known device (your strain gauge device), but unknown channels. Here's how I attacked only a few years ago...

  • DAQmx create a task to create a job.
  
  
  • Make a constant table of all known possible channels. Say that it is 8 cells and compare that to an array of channels USED, making false tracks off the chains 'Unused' and the names of real channel out of used ones. Under certain conditions to check which ones which is used to remove the appropriate channel and add the DAQmx virtual channels properly. The VI snapshot below goes into the details. I brought not only the channels, channels, such as min/max properties and bridge information. My VI also made bridge removal, under certain conditions, depending on sensor that the user wanted to null (that part is not shown.)

  This code isn't super sleek, but I hope this gives you the ideas come from.

  

• cDAQ Module Question

  I currently have the following equipment:

  cDAQ-9178

  OR-9401

  OR-9219

  I use the module OR 9401 to drive the output PWM signals is calculated by a PID controller in two controlled thermal systems.  I use the NOR-9219 module to measure temperature, such as remote sensing by thermistors.  These temperature values are used in my PID controller to calculate the error.

  I am now interested in measuring a number of other temperatures on my device using thermocouples (these temperatures are necessary only - no controller action based on them).  9219 module is ideal for my PID controller, that I can use to detect the very precise Thermistors, but it has only 4 entries.  I'm considering adding a NI 9213 Module to my setup to activate the additional analysis that I need...  My question is this - this module will be compatible with my setup?  for example can I simultaneously run two analog modules (9219 & 9213)?  Is it reasonable to try to make the PID regulation and this extra temperature monitors simultaneously?

  What is are describing is undoubtedly reasonable and feasible with the hardware you have.  9178 has several Motors synchronization to analog input, so you can configure separate tasks for two different modules if you want to acquire simultaneously and at different rates.

• Sampling Multiple channels of unique cDAQ Module

  Hi all

  I am currently researching the use of cDAQ for a system of analysis of oil, especially the module OR 9201 for voltage GOT.

  We have 6 entries SE located in the voltage/current ratings, although they all need different sampling frequencies.  It is my understanding that the module is capable of 500 kHz, which will be split between entries.

  The sampling frequency should divided equally?  Or could I for example send a 250 kHz channel and split the rest between the other 5.  Synchronous between devices is not necessary.

  Hello, UPRR.

  As long as the module has a refresh rate higher than 20kS/sec, then you should be fine. so NI 9263, NI 9264, NI 9265 and NI 9269 should be good for you.

• How to unload encryption/security device/PKCS #11 module?

  When you install the BankID security application, the old version was supposed to be uninstalled and PKCS "module 11 to unload.
  I found the module but can neither diactivate or unload it
  in the tab preference in Firefox 3.6.15.

• Not able to read 4000 samples the analog channels of cDAQ module (module NI 9205)

  Please check the chart bloack (FALSE Structure box state a wait with 20ms function) and attached the code (saved in LabVIEW 2015).

  

  On executing the code and using the button 'Trig', I can see only 1000 samples (for each channel) and not 4000 examples.

  Please help me to understand what I am doing wrong?

  Entry of son "4000" to "samples per channel" Schedule VI DAQmx. The default value when unwired is "1000".

  I was able to set up my Explorer Measurement & Automation to detect my device (NI cDAQ-9188), but I'm unable to add the device.  The error statement says:

  Recovery of the properties of the network device failed.  Make sure that the device is connected.

  How can I fix this so that I can test my modules e/s?

  In the tab of the firmware, it reads:

  -firmware version: 1.1.0f0

  Based on the status of the network configuration tab, I assumed that my problem was related to the network connection.  I have reset my network cards and this seemed to solve my problem.  Thanks for your help.

• NEITHER 9205 multichannel devices

  I use two 9205 materials nor supporter of tensions. When I connect one fo the features everything seems to be ok. When I conncet the second device, I can't read the correct value for the voltage. I had read that change the sampling frequency and the convert clock would help, but I don't know how to do this.

  Can someone help me?

  AFAIK, this camera has an internal 64 MB memory and you can upgrade the device with a module of memory. You can improve it to max 160 MB

  I added the line "cRIO_FavoriteBrand = generic ' in the ini file." He now appears less 2011.

• CDAQ 9201 noise compared to PCI-6120

  I have
  problem with our cDAQ, more precisely with the 9201 tension module. The
  signal resulting seems much too noisy, especially compared to our 6120.
  Could someone take a look at it and tell me if this is the desired result.

  I measured
  three things: an AA, signal pressure gauge and signal battery square signal
  generator. The white line is data measured in 6120 and Red is the
  cDAQ module. I only removed the offset (average) to the battery and the pressure gauge
  measures is easier to see the amplitude of noise.

  Hello. So in the end, the problem was in the chassis itself (not module). We had guys here of NOR and tested against its chassis/modules and we found ourselves with a clear conclusion that there is a problem in our chassis.

• OR unrecognized cDAQ-9174

  Hello, I'm not sure if it's good advice, but here goes.

  I have a USB OR cDAQ-9174, I try to use with LabVIEW 2009 and DAQmx 9.1. After you install LabVIEW 2009, I thought he had DAQmx and device drivers installed with it, so I plugged in the cDAQ. Then I realized my mistake and installed the disc that came with the cDAQ DAQmx.

  Unfourtunatly, the device is not recognized by SignalExpress or MAX. She appears in the Manager of Windows devices like "cDaq-9174" under the heading "National Instruments Device", but the monitor of devices OR never detected the device.

  I uninstalled then plugged DAQmx cDAQ without success, then uninstalled the driver from Device Manager and uninstalled DAQmx new and trendy cDAQ, same case. I'm now uninstall all software from National Instruments to try to solve this problem, if it doesn't work I have really no idea what to do.

  If someone could help, it would be great. I'm working on a HP desktop computer.

  If you get this message in time, hold off the coast on the Windows reinstall, there's another step I want you try if possible.  Follow the steps in this KB (completely delete the data folder in step 7): what is the process to remove MAX Database Corruption?

  I hope that this will be a less painful way to address the issue.

• cDAQ works correctly with Labview 2013?

  I have already upgraded to the LV805 for Labview 2013 in an existing system that has the cDaq-9172, NI9205, NI9263, and NI 9403.

  When executing NI MAX, it detects that cDAQ 9172 (chassis), but none of the cDAQ modules are detected.

  When I open my application, the paths of the cDAQ doesn't appear in entry options, so when it works, and the error message.

  I have SP1 2013 LV f2 and NEITHER-DAQmx 9.8

  This is a known issue, or I have a configuration problem?

  It turns out than if you change the startup type to "Automatic (delayed services start)" service OR McAffe plays more enjoyable.

  

• direct removal of the battery module

  We have 2 PowerConnect 6248 which are stacked. We need our cell module for our new configuration but we cannot stop this production environment yet.

  It is possible to remove the battery from our switch without affecting its config? The switch will work without any problems and it will simply act as if we remove the backbone cable?

  The PowerConnect modules do not hot-insertion support. The stacking cables can be removed and installed without having to switch off the device, but not modules. Here are some links with more information about stacking of 6200 switches.
