Diagram of default recovery partition Toshiba Satellite L875D

My Satellite L875D has the following recovery Partitions:

450 MB
450 MB
9.36 GB

I guess that the 9.36 GB partition is used to create the recovery CD, but what are the two 450MO partitions? Are related to Windows 8/8.1 or something created by Toshiba for their software?

The operating system that is installed at the time of purchase was Windows 8 and has since been upgraded to Windows 8. 1

I created 2 sets of recovery CD, is it safe to delete the partition used to create so I can recover disk space?

I guess that smaller partitions are used by the Windows System.
Windows 8/8.1 supports an auto repair and restore option and I guess the partitions contains these files to repair.

    (1) No, you can not divide the HARD disk by using the recovery disk. The recovery disc will format the whole HARD disk and create partitions as at the beginning.
    (2) I doubt you can burn using other 3rd party programs. Toshiba has installed creator Toshiba Recovery disk that should be used to burn the recovery disk
    (3) as I said in point 1-> recovery disk will format the whole HARD drive. It s no matter how many partitions is created on the HARD drive. Everything will be erased

According to specification for laptop, your laptop has DVD supermulti inside and should be able to read CDs and DVDs. ODD uses the standard driver from Microsoft and Toshiba offers some additional drivers for the ODD feature.

Have you tested the feature using different original CD of music and DVDs (movies)?

  • The display on the Satellite L875D-10N driver installation

    Greetings

I am in possession of a Toshiba Satellite L875D-10N and last week, I noticed that the usable display memory is 256 MB while it is normally 6 GB, at that moment I understood that both "microsoft basic-display driver" and 'driver AMD radeon 7640G' are the two evil installed (yellow triangle in Device Manager). Also AMD radeon 7640G driver must not be installed because the laptop makes use of the AMD Radeon HD 7640 G + double HD 7610 M graphics card.

According to specification for laptop, your laptop comes with Win8 64 bit so if you use this original version of the OS all hardware components must be installed and configured properly.

The question is: what exactly did you do with your machine?
Have you installed a clean version of the OS? If so, download the right Toshiba download page display driver - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/dow...ivers_bios.jsp

If you need more help post a little more on the configuration of the laptop: what operating system are you using.

  • Recovery partition (drive D) disappeared. (HP DV4T-1600)

    Hello..

I just formatted to make original by default using 4 recovery disks (burned with recovery run, of course)

If I kind of got hurt, it's now successfully on setting EXCEPT initial changes to the default recovery partition.

Before it is formatted D drive or partition D is designated as HP Recovery, but NOW it is called as HP tools.

Space recovery (OR course, TOOLS HP) is only 99.9 MB (this was 60 GB or something BEFORE the factory setting)

because I remember that the C drive space has 210 or something (TOTAL 298 GB) but now it's just together 297 GB.

Also, when I access the Recovery Manager, it says that I don't have any recovery partition.

Sorry, this might seem confusing, but

Does anyone know how 'set' or 'reappear' recovery partition D so that I can use for recovery?

It is a part of the specification of my lap top

    HP DV4T-1600

    T4300 2.10 GHz

    Product #: VP181AV

    HARD drive: 298 GB (total)

    A response would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I think that your system came with 320 GB hard drive. Doing the recovery using the recovery kit, the recovery partition was not created. The HP Tools partition is a partition that will help you diagnoze the system hardware without having to start Windows.

If you want to retrieve the recovery partition, you must re-run the recovery process by using the disks again. However, I would say you ignore the recovery parition and start using the system.

  • Satellite C55 - A - 1 K 6 - Partition which is Important for the recovery of Toshiba?

    My laptop is Satellite C55 - A - 1 K 6

In the past, I have deleted Toshiba System Recovery Partition by mistake when I install the new OS for my laptop so I sent my laptop to Toshiba Service and they recreate standard scores and send back me my laptop.

    I need to ask this question to you now;

When I opened the disk management in the computer management, I see two partition named Recovery. One of them is the beginning of the disc and it is 1 GB, another 11FR and at the and of the disc. What is the Toshiba system recovery?

On the other hand I just created 3 * 4, 5 GB Toshiba System Recovery DVD by Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. Instead of I have those DVD am I still need the recovery Partition for recovery of my laptop in the future?

Now, if I delete all the partitions on the hard drive now, can I still use Toshiba Recovery with these 3 * 4, 5 GB DVD?

    Thank you...

Original recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, tools specific to Toshiba and utility and sure some additional software so it may not be only 1 GB. 11 GB partition is for the recovery image.

    > On the other hand I just created 3 * 4, 5 GB Toshiba System Recovery DVD by Toshiba > Recovery Media Creator. Instead of I have those DVD am I still need the recovery recovery Partition > my cell phone in the future?
In general you don't need it more. With the help of your created recovery DVD you will be able to install the original recovery image whenever you want. In case that the HARD drive will be effective and exchanged with a new one, you can use these discs to install the original recovery image.

Many people do not read manuals s and does not create a recovery media. After a few experiences, they are surprised why HARD recovery disk image installation doesn't work anymore.

I hope that some other Toshiba laptop owners will read this so here are original recovery Toshiba recall info:

  • Lost on Satellite P850 recovery partition

    G ' Day alll.

Been out of the game for a while, got a Toshiba Satellite P850
I thought I'd set it back to factory default so hit zero key.

Came with option erase hdd, Toshiba Recovery Wizard.

I thought that big, it will be erased the hard drive then to let me use the hidden partition to reinstall the new copy of windows8 accompanying.

Now I get up at startup
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert pre start-up support and boot device selected any key.

IM gob felt that his own Toshiba Recovery Wizard it would wipe clean recovery partiton...

so now have no recovery partition as im aware by pressing the zero key is constantly with the above...

think I've done a big Jeremy.

Looking for best way & eaiest way to solve this problem?
    was soon macka.

Ive tried to use my hiren & bootcd but wont even pick up after chaning boot order in the bios first cd player etc.

    everything keeps going back to
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert pre start-up support and boot device selected any key.

    any help will be appreciated.
Cheers again Macka. Am I missing something?

Your biggest mistake was that you didn't create recovery media using pre-installed recovery media creator tool. With the support of recovery (DVD or USB key), you'll be able now to install original recovery image. It is also described in the document s user manuals. This backup is very important.

It's that you can't force your laptop have access or install recovery image, if it is still saved on the HARD drive. Now, you can either install the clean version of the OS using installation disc of Microsoft or order original Toshiba Recovery disk for recovery image installation.

I don't know where you live, but if you have the European model for laptop, you can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • How can I access the recovery on my Satellite L500D-00F partition?

Hi, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L500D-00F delivered with Windows 7 Home Premium and my OS is not working properly so I need to boot from the recovery partition, but I can't find a way to do...

    =============
    FULL ARTICLE: P
    =============

The first startup launched the hidden restore partition and I followed the procedure to install the OS of the computer.

At one point he asked me if I wanted to 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7, so I choose the default option (32 bit) because I couldn't find anywhere in the specifications of L500D of the merchant that is was a 64-bit processor.

After the installation of the computer, it started Windows 7 properly and I could hear the startup sound, see my office for a second and the screen went black, nothing worked at all and I discovered that my computer was actually a unit of 64-bit, so that is probably why the video driver does not work properly, I guess. Whenever I start my laptop, I see my desktop for a second then it goes black and crashes like this.

    ====================
    END OF THE STORY: P
    ====================

In any case... I want to restart this recovery partition and reinstall my operating system using the 64-bit version.

How can I boot from the recovery partition on my L500D-00F... AND PLEASE don't tell me to hit F8 during the startup, I already tried this and NO I don't have a "Repair" option The first is 'Safe mode' and there is no option 'Fix' or 'retrieve '.

Also, in Windows Disk Manager (that I can use in some way when I boot in safe mode) I see two hidden partitions, a 10 GB and a 1.5 GB, so I KNOW they are there, I did not delete them and they should be intact.

Any help is appreciated, but don't tell me to hit F8 when starting, this has already been tried: P

    Thanks for the comments.
On this forum, that we have already talked about this and of course access to the data recovery is not the same for all models of laptop. F8 method is for example for models Europeans and several people from the Australia or even Canada reported on the use of the 0 button.

In any case, I'm happy to know that everything is going well.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200D Factory defaults recovery

    Hello

I post here in the name of an old man who bought a Satellite P200D-PSPBQE, S/N 28160997 K (Vista Home Premium French) who has gone through a series of problems. He cannot attend his book himself and so asked me to fix it.

The laptop has especially worked for two or three years until this summer when it has overheated (as I can judge by touching the case) and switched automatically a few times off the coast. At one point the laptop wouldn't even step to the BIOS.

Here is a rough summary of what I did then:

I began to open the case, but it seems too difficult, so I closed it back and use a vacuum cleaner to clean the dust in the vents, restarted the laptop and it are returned and very well for a while. At one point, the owner of the laptop mentioned a small bug crept once out of the laptop but I don't mind at this moment.

After some time, Vista has experienced various gels (maybe explore buggy but I couldn't judge I never looked in the event viewer that I had no idea what kind of help the EV could bring until very recently). I thought that this could be due to the many automatic switchoffs who listens to the Vista system files. I ran sfc/scannow, who pointed out a few errors, but cannot fix them. Yet it is not attached to the gel. I stuff ready for the usual save the data/reinstall vista and drivers/restore cycle data.

On the recovery discs: I asked the owner for all Toshiba drives, but it didn't, not even the recovery disk based 100MB.

I thought that automatic recovery of factory default partition existed but that he could not find its start-up in the manuals coming with the laptop. I was curious and thought, Hey, I'll start the recovery partition myself with a boot partition tool. I ran the Partition Magic CD reported contradictory of the partitions on the first drive, which prompted me to repair it with suggested partition table values: I stupidly pressed Yes and then not really started (or so I think). I couldn't see any recovery partition only two 80 GB system partitions, and data were present. A race of Ranish Partition confirmed it.

Yet, I tried to turn on the laptop while pressing '0' at the same time, as stated in some tech forums but it didn't not start any recovery procedure at all.

I could not find the recovery disk creator in the menu program so I downloaded and it started and it reported, no partition recovery not found.

As I found myself helpless without any recovery solution (I had not heard backupmedia.toshiba.eu) I downloaded a copy of Vista of P2P (Yes, it's bad, but I was impotent). This laptop has two hard drives of 160 GB, of which the second was not used. I exchanged the places of two readers, installed Vista using the product key from COA to empty disk. I installed the display driver and the retrospective data is restored and the laptop is back on the spot two, running OK, but still from time to time of freezing.

Finally, I decided to call the assistance of Toshiba in France who reported to me on the backupmedia.toshiba.eu site where I can order recovery disks.

_Before I order backup disks I have a few questions: _

Can I open the case and do a thorough cleaning of any dust remaining/bugs/etc? (I guess that the answer is Yes) Are there instructions for that?

Maybe hit the cpu overheating. Should I run a test of cpu and which?

Overheating may have affected the memory modules. Running Windows Memory Test enough or do I run Memtest 3.x or later version to check the memory sticks?

Is there really a recovery partition on the hard drive of this series (P200D-PSPBQE) system? If Yes and given the Partition Magic probably changed only the partition table, is there a way to restore the original partition table values and thus to restore access to the recovery partition? That would save me the trouble to order backup discs.

backupmedia. Toshiba.EU offers you to order a backup for 35 euros drive about it's a drive to restore default factory containing Vista, drivers and tools, or just the basic restore disk that starts (currently absent) recovery partition? In the second case, how to restore the laptop to original factory settings?

Thank you for reading this far, sorry for any English mistakes and thanks in advance for any input,
    Eric Ivanov,
    Grenoble, France

    > Should I open the suitcase and do a thorough cleaning of any dust remaining/bugs/etc? (I guess that the answer is Yes) Are there instructions for that?

I wouldn't recommend disassemble the laptop. This should be done by a mobile technician who knows what to do if you want to remove dust or debris from cooling vents, I would recommend using a jet of compressed air and you may suck dust.

    > Overheating may have touched the cpu. Should I run a test of cpu and which?
Perhaps this is possible, given that the laptop is two years (or more) and during this time, a lot of dust might collect inside the cooling modules.

    > Overheating may have affected the memory modules. Running Windows Memory Test enough or do I run Memtest 3.x or later version to check the memory sticks?
A higher temperature can affect all parts of the laptop also memory, it was the case in my old notebook. BSOD was always because the memory could not be cooled. But I doubt that memtest would help you if the higher temperature would affect modules

You cannot restore the HARD drive recovery partition. If you are not able to start the HARD drive recovery (pressing F8-> fix my computer-> HD recovery), you must order the disk from Toshiba Web page.

    > backupmedia.toshiba.eu offers you to order a backup for 35 euros drive about it's a drive to restore default factory containing Vista, drivers and tools, or just the basic restore disk that starts (currently absent) recovery partition? In the second case, how to restore the laptop to original factory settings?
This s recovery disc that contains the image of Toshiba. Toshiba is a package that contains the Windows operating system (Vista), drivers, tools and additional software. Simply said; This disc would fix the laptop back to factory settings.

Hope this might help a little.

  • Satellite 2HW C855: win 8-10GB recovery partition can be removed?

For my Satellite C855-2HW with Win 8 OEM, I would like to a partition to separate data in addition to the OS + programs.
At present 4 scores are already in use.
First 450MO partition recovery, the second a third EFI 260 MB, of the score of 920 GB operating system partition, and the fourth a 10 GB recovery partition.

Now that I've done of recovery with "Toshiba Media Recovery Creator" DVDs, I can remove the recovery partition right?
Can you only do this for an external support as with Diskpart or Gparted?

It takes to this partition for media files; Photos, documents, music, movies, etc.

What is the best way of all this?
    Cheers, boris.

    > Now that I did with 'Toshiba Media Recovery Creator' recovery DVDs, I can remove the recovery partition right?

Yes. After changing the structure of the partitions probably you won't be able to use the HARD drive recovery facility more. This was the case in the past. In any case, now you have recovery DVD and you can install the recovery using these DVD image.
