• Poor video quality using windows 7 "play to" with DLNA Sony Bravia KDL-40EX700

  When I use the option "play to" in windows media player 12, everything works but the video streams on tv is of very poor quality!

  There is nothing wrong with the drivers of your graphics card. The TV is one that makes the video file not the graphics card on your PC. The reason you have a bad video quality is the limited support of the multimedia formats that is supported by your TV. Generally, Sony's Bravia TVs have a limited set of media formats supported and for this reason, most of the time that the Play and Win7 will send transcoded versions of the video on television. Usually, the way Play works is the following:

  -Play questions the TV for supported media formats

  -If the TV supports the type of media you're trying to make, the Play sends native data flow to the TV. The quality will be provided by your video file.

  -If the TV does not support the native format, the Win7 also offers versions of the same video file transcoded: MPEG-2 and WMV for versions.

  -Play preffers to make reading possible at any time so he will choose a transcoded version if the native format is not supported. DLNA mandates support for MPEG NTSC or PAL MPEG formats, so this will be the common denominator.

  I tested several Sony's Bravia televisions in the last years of the development of Play, and several times reading transcoded. I guess that this is the case for you as well. Unfortunately, nothing you can do, unless Sony decides to support your media file nativelly. To make things worse, the qulity of the transcoded version depends very much on the quality of native files (win7 transcode in a lower resolution than the native.) It will be not high-end).   In fact, I came across this site for answers to a similar problem.  But I found my answer elsewhere.

  I have two Acer Aspire computers laptops.  What I've discovered, is that plug you the cables first, (in my case a VGA and audio plug and) then boot or rewboot the computer.  With my old 3613LCi XP Windows startup screen showed on TV and then I saw a message that fashion was inconsistent (in other words), then the black screen.  My TV is an old Samsung for many years.

  I then went through the procedure with my Acer Aspire 5517 and it worked.  The computer has Windows 7.  It has worked well.  After I unplugged the TV, the size of the screen on the computer was closer.  I think it will be fine after a reboot.

  Thus, it seems that some models work, and some won't.  You can look at more in detail in the community for more details if you need.

  II havwe a Sony's Bravia TV that is about 5 years old.  I am trying to play a video through my VCR and it won't play.  I put the setting on 3 HDMI and it won't work.  I'm trying to find a setting on my TV that can activate the video to play.  Remote control functions do not change the settings.  I can turn on and off the TV with the remote control, but that's all I can do. I changed the batteries...  I was able to get the TV went from 1 HDMI to HDMI3 using the button on the side of the TV and the family but cannot change other settings.

  I recently spent the cable to direct tv and was told by direct tv that wouldl does not affect tv.  The VCR is connected even as always.

  Can someone give me advice?  Sony won't give me any support because my TV is no longer under warranty.

  You can check if certain keys on your remote to work or not using a phone camera smart (have not tried with iPhone yet)... All you have to do, is open the camera on your smart phone, place the top of the remote control (where infrared is located) in front of the camera... Press the power button / stop (since u said that it is the only button that works)... you should be able to see a light on your phone screen when you press the power button... (which means that the button works... Then try it with any another button on your remote...

  If the other keys do not work, I think the best thing to do is to get a new one or it exchanged... I don't think that they service for remote controls...

  I have a blu ray/dvd receiver Sony model hdbe370 connected via HDMI to a Sony's Bravia TV. The problem is that when I go to netflix, the TV do not display the subtitle or subtitles of the film. I saw the same picture in my computer or Xbox and then I can get subtitles and cc. I tryyied in vain to find the proper setting in the receiver and the tv.
