Diff between the Dimension and the staging of Dimension table?

Hi all

I would like to learn OBI Apps I'm Consultant OBIEE. While getting some travel queries. Please guide me on this path.

Thank you

Dimension ends with D and dimension staging table ends with the DS. Its very nomenclature everything used in the warehouse projects.

Table _DS will connect directly to the source and will be the largest part of the detials.
Table D will have the primary Key(Called as ROWWID which will be the foreign key in all the fact table which ot refres too) as well as the table _DS detials.

Mark correct or useful if this can help,

Kind regards

  • What is the Diff between extract data and analytics

    What is the difference between the extract data and extended Analytics?

    Thank you
    Fri

    Extract data will create a flat file of entity currency only on folders - to simplify, there basically entry level data with the exception of the entity dimension and account where higher level data can also be extracted.

    EA has the ability to turn a star schema or a flat file that contains the data to any level of any dimension.

    If I backup to tape, it takes 5 hours and produced a 27 GB backup piece.

  • diff between the view and the materialized view

    Hi all

    Whats different between the view and the materialized view?

    could someone help me pls this topic

    thnks in advance

    See nothing else that a set is a set of sql statements that join the single or multiple tables and shows the data... However views do not have the data themselves but point to the data.

    Whereas the materialized view is a concept used primarily in the Datawarehousing... these views contain the data itself. Reason being, it is more easy/quick access to the data. The main objective of Materialized view is to perform calculations and display data from multiple tables by using joins.

  • Use of the staging of prepareBulk table name parameter / completeBulk functions.

    I try to load 1.6 billion triple in a semantic graph RDF instance. I use the prepareBulk / completeBulk approach described in "7.12 Bulk loading Using RDF graphic semantic support for Apache Jena. I loaded the triplets of. TTL.gz files in an intermediate table with prepareBulk according to the "example 7-10 loading data into the staging (prepareBulk) Table.

    Example 7-10, I used "null" for the parameter "staged by the name of the table" at prepareBulk. I then ran a separate program to run completeBulk according to the "example 7-11 loading data into the table of staging in semantic networks (completeBulk). 7-11 watch also the use of "null" as default value for the parameter "staged by the name of the table. PrepareBulk operations seem to have executed successfully with a null value, staging table name. However, null does not seem to be a valid entry for the staging of completeBulktable name parameter. "CompleteBulk (null, null);" run displays the following error message:

    Hit the exception ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    What is the relationship between "staged by the name of the table" Settings prepareBulk and completeBulk? Is null, a valid value for this parameter to prepareBulk, and if so what should be the corresponding value passed to completeBulk?

    Hello

    This seems odd. We have a test for this case. We will try this. By default, the intermediate table created is under the same user schema and table name would be "RDFB_" followed by the name of model.

    Can you please verify the existence of such a table in your schema? There must be 1 b + lines. If so, you can directly proceed to the name of the table.

    Since you are dealing with a good amount of data, the following should be helpful for performance:

    (1) remove the indexes on the table of the application before you run the completeBulk call;
    2) enable parallel DML before the call: oracle.executeSQL ("alter session enable dml parallel");

    (3) use the parallel load options. An example is the following. Degree of parallelism is set to 4, and you will need to customize it to your own configuration.

    "PARSE PARALLEL PARALLEL_CREATE_INDEX = 4 mbv_method = shadow"

    Simply put this style at the top of your page:

    margin: 0;

    padding: 0;

    }

    This should dispel the spaces.

  • Validate the difference in days between the dates in a table

    Greetings,

    I have a tabular form and date on each line. When the user saves the form, I want to sort the rows by chronological order of these dates, then go get the first and last date, calculate the difference between them and validate it.

    Does anyone know how to do?

    From now on, I came up with this:

    1. a PL/SQL Page process "before the calculations and Validations' which creates a collection and inserts lines in my tabular form (p_c004 being the date field):
    begin
      if apex_collection.collection_exists('UPDATE_DATES') then
        apex_collection.delete_collection('UPDATE_DATES');
      end if;

      apex_collection.create_or_truncate_collection('UPDATE_DATES');

      for i in 1..apex_application.g_f04.count
      loop
          apex_collection.add_member(
              p_collection_name => 'UPDATE_DATES',
              p_c002            => htmldb_application.g_f02(i),
              p_c003            => htmldb_application.g_f03(i),
              p_c004            => htmldb_application.g_f04(i),
              p_c005            => htmldb_application.g_f05(i),
              p_c006            => htmldb_application.g_f06(i),
              p_c007            => htmldb_application.g_f07(i));
      end loop;
    end;
    and

    2. a "PL/SQL Error: Validation
    DECLARE
      l_count NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      apex_collection.sort_members('UPDATE_DATES', 4);
      l_count := apex_collection.collection_member_count('UPDATE_DATES');

      SELECT
      to_date(c004(l_count),'DD/MM/YYYY') - to_date(c004(1),'DD/MM/YYYY') Difference

      FROM
      apex_collections

      WHERE
      collection_name = 'UPDATE_DATES'
      and to_date(c004(l_count),'DD/MM/YYYY') - to_date(c004(1),'DD/MM/YYYY') < 30;

    EXCEPTION
      WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
        raise_application_error(-20101, 'Error');
    END;
    In my understanding, the validation must sort the collection in chronological order of the dates entered, calculate the difference in days between the nearest and farthest date and return it if it's less than 30 years (the difference in days allowed). If it's more than 30 years, the SELECT statement does not return anything and my block of exceptions raises a custom error that will trigger the validation "process of refusal."

    But when I try this, it tells me c004 does not exist and if I drop the parentheses, it works, but of course, it does not give the desired result.

    Any ideas?

    Best regards
    Mathieu

    Assuming that your domain is c004 then I don't see the need for the sorting of the collection.

    You can write a simple SQL select that sent you the desired result.

    Maybe something like this not tested

    SELECT
      max(to_date(c004,'DD/MM/YYYY')) - min(to_date(c004,'DD/MM/YYYY') ) Difference
      FROM apex_collections
      WHERE collection_name = 'UPDATE_DATES';

    The test if the result is > 30 days. If that's what you want to know.

    Yes you can see the business rules in planning if you associate with a planning application, you can also pass on information of Member of web forms in variables.
    Not all customers who purchase essbase also buy planning and business rules can be used either with you it is important to make two connections.

    Hello..

    ALTER SYSTEM switch logfile;

    =
    ALTER SYSTEM log current ;> archives

    alter system switch logfile--> switches to the following log file, regardless of the mode that the database is in ARCHIVELOG or NOARCHIVELOG mode. If the archivelog mode change system swicth logfile will generate the Archives of the redolog which was changed.

    change the current archiving--> oracle here log system passes current related to records and archives as well as all other newspapers not archived. It can be fired only the database that is in ARCHIVELOG mode.
