DIFxAPI error b/c Vista is 64 bit?

I recently had my old computer crash and I needed a new computer for my studio recording (Pro Tools 7.4 THE), so I had to get another Vista. This new Vista is 64 bit. I had the SAME problem installing Pro Tools and all the Plugins - Antares Auto-Tune 5, Ozone 3, McDSP Project Studio, etc.. They all said that there was an installation issue with DIFxAPI for a 64-bit... something like that. I tried to look and understand, without success. However, everything seems to work, but slowly. Is it necessary for me to solve the installation problem for 32-bit programs on a 64-bit Vista system?

Also, army 3 game of America not install right and it has to do with the issue of 64-bit.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you may have!

-David

Here, an article on DiFxAPI (and includes references to other articles that may also help explain):http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff544834(v=VS.85).aspx.  It is essentially a device driver installation problem (that make me wonder why it works unless it's just a problem but actually able to load in any case).

I'm worried in general about every error I get, even if some are more important than others (and some are not really errors at all).  I don't know honestly or not to worry - but given that everything works as it should with the exception of this error, then maybe it can be ignored (even if I continue to get the error message on Google and Bing and read threads that arise to see if a solution presents itself).  I will try to give a more definitive answer once you post the script.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

    1. how you try to install Vista? You install using Setup disc or try to re the image?

Please check the compatibility of your drive with Vista:

    Hi Hal K,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

If you are currently running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 32-bit version of Windows. Similarly, if you run a 64-bit version of Windows, you can perform an upgrade to another 64-bit Windows version.

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows, and vice versa, you will need to back up your files and then perform a custom of the version of Windows you want to install installation.

    Any ideas anyone please?

Amazing!  I have already mentioned that I lived the problem of the "feature Windows empty window.  Seeing that my initially reported problem and seemed to have similar signs and given that I had a clear explanation on how to solve this problem, I did it - and these two problems are now history.

In the two following links, you will find the description and method to solve the problem of the 'empty Windows feature window' and (b) a method for appropriating errant registry entries.

This * may * solve your problem too - it seems that there is a generic problem with determination rather poor problem feedback.

    Hi Jarska,

    ·        You did changes to the computer recently before the issue started?

    ·        If your computer came pre-installed with Windows Vista, or you don't have it installed separately?

You receive this error 0xC004E003 when the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed on your computer. You can access the link below and follow the steps in method C and check if that helps you solve the problem of activation. If the C method does not work, you can follow the steps in method G and try activation using the automated phone system.

  • 26 of Firefox crashes out of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

No matter if I click on the red X, go to file-> exit or press Alt + F4 to exit Firefox under Windows Vista Ultimate 32 - bit. It almost always produces an error message that Firefox has stopped working.

I can't find how to post a JPEG Screenshot of the error here.

This will not occur under Windows XP Pro.

Otherwise, the browser works fine in a BONE.

Those are the two reports of the crash on Adobe Flash Player.

You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • Disable protected mode in the plugin Flash (Flash 11.3 + on Windows Vista and later versions)
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
  • VAP 1.1.19 error installation on Vista Ultimate - GetProfString is broken

I have an A300-1i4 with Vista Ultimate 32 bit as OS.

And when trying to install the package of value-added 1.1.19 I get the following error message "GetProfString is down..."

Any idea or suggestion to this incident?

    Thank you.

    Hello

First, you must remove the older version of VAP.
Then you must clean the BONES and the register using the free also called CCleaner.
This could be important to ensure that Vista does not contain old files VAP.
After restarting again, you can try again to install the VAP.

By the way; I m not very good, but it might be possible that VAP does not support full version Vista Ultimate.

  • Satellite A200 (PSAE6) crashes on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit

    Hello

I recently had a few frequent freezes on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition, I think it's maybe the video card (ATI HD2600 mobility). I have already downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the Toshiba site, but it continues to, sometimes, when I'm playing games, the screen blinks for 5 seconds or more and then would become black, completely erased, but the background sound and everything still works well and I am able to shut down the PC by pressing the power button once and then restart it normally.

It's a minor problem, the major problem is the freezing point, it freezes completely without warning, but oddly enough, he freeze by practicing a game! But freezes on normal operations (internet, office, etc.). I did the tests, tests of HARD drive memory, all in good health, and worse, on the Windows Event Viewer could not detect any problem, simply says 'unexpected system shutdown.

    I'd appreciate help please.

    Thank you

Hi I do not know if this will help, but you've got service pack 1 installed on your laptop, as when I installed it on my desktop the first time it caused blue screen errors and gave me a lot of problems, including the error messages that seemed to come with applications, I opened and a boring IQRL driver equal or less than but could not work why and then ultimately , I had so many problems that I had to completely reformat my office and I removed my scanner XP and webcam (both had vista drivers) and when I reinstalled service pack 1, it was beautiful, if by any chance do you have anything attached to your XP laptop and vista drivers as these seemed to be what was causing my errors.

Also a question about your graphic card drivers, I have the same laptop as you and was looking for updates to the graphics driver and couldn't find them anywhere on the site, where did you find yours? I use Vista Home Premium 32 bit, my model number is A200-28 p (PSAE6) and I would like to know if there is a new graphics card driver but can not find on the basis of knowledge, so the fact you have updated your would be could you point a new user in the right direction :-)

    Thank you

Please help with what the cause is and how I can fix this, broke down 3 times now, can not insert installation CD because I've never given one, laptop pre-installed with vista

    Hi enois14,

Because you have a notebook Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and you do not have an installation disc there is nothing we can do in this situation.

The only thing I can say for now is to try to start safe mode and do a system restore.

It uses system restore to return your system files and settings to an earlier point in time, without affecting personal files, the restore points. For more information, you can access the link below.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions

If you do not want to do a system restore then you may need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop to see if they have a way to access the recovery partition with shortcut keys during the startup.

Recovery for systems pre-installed OEM options are configured by the manufacturer of the PC and can vary from one system.

    Hope this information was useful.

  • Reuse an old copy of Vista Business 32-bit

    Hello

I have a copy of Vista Business 32 bit that I bought so at College and I wanted to install it on a laptop more old that I have (just something to have on the laptop to make it usable until I can buy a copy of Windows 7). I went through the installation process and when I was asked to validate the key on the DVD that I got a "the code you entered is in use, please type a different code" or something of the sort. At this point, I remembered that I used the DVD a few years trying to fix a computer for my mother. This computer has since surpassed this world. My question is this: is there a way to get that code off or released so that I can use it on another computer. I have the original disk and COA code for the disk. I just don't remember if it was a one time use or not and if it's possible. Otherwise it's not a big deal, as I said I am decided on buying a copy of 7, just do not know when, was just a shot in the water the hopes that I could reuse the old code.

As long as the code is not still active elsewhere, you are free to use forever once again, on any computer (one at a time).

To reset the number of activations, just call the number 1-800 that shows on this error message.  Tell the operator and they will reset the meter and it let you to install again.
