Dimension 4700 CPU and Mboard upgrade?

IM need a upgrade and I want to make my own.  I bought an e7200 processor and motherboard that Im going to use.  Im trying to decide if I want to try to install it in my 4700 or at the start of construction of a new layout and use the parts of the 4700?  Will be the hard drive freak if I do this?  Can I still use the Windows supplied with my 4700 if I format the drive?  Basically my ideal situation would be just redeem my processor and Mboard.  If it can happen?

  • Dimension 4700 choice of processor upgrade

    Hi all

Need some advice on the processor upgrade choices for a Dimension 4700 with a Pentium 4. I mainly use this machine to launch Cubase 4.5, and an Emu Proteus system and I am running up to the limit of my titles and sampling. I can't go further than 12 titles and which includes three tracks 48 k samples simultaneously. It seems incredible, but it is not enough good my goals of recording. It seems that what I really need, is a Quad-Core or even an I7. On my budget, it will not happen. My budget is $ 400.00 and it grows. I realize that maybe these specifications do not support upgrading to even a Dual-Core, and even if I could how much difference I would hear and experience in Cubase and Proteus fact?

What I would really like to get out of this system is a machine of 24 tracks with the same 48 k samples I need for serious recording, I'd settle for 8 simultaneous samples per song as well as 24 tracks.  Basically, it would be normal 16 pieces of Cubase VST over 8 tracks samples of Proteus.  What would rock!

If a serious CPU upgrade is plausible, should I upgrade my CPU cooling fan and XP Home Pro? Is my only option a faster Pentium 4?

  • Satellite A100 - 495 (PSAA9) - CPU and GPU upgrade

    Hi all

    I have a few questions.
    I have a Satellite A100-495 with 2 GB of Ram, Core2Duo 1.83 GHz (2 x; T5600) and an NVIDIA Geforce 7600go.
I want to spend the CPU and the GPU. Is this possible?
I don't want to do. I am looking for a store (if possible in Germany) that can do this.

If its possible, what it costs? And what store can I speak?

If this is not possible-> why? It is fixed; It getting too hot?

What solution do I? I don't want to buy a new laptop.

    Kind regards
    Dave

Update CPU and GPU on laptop computers is complicated enough or is not possible. At first, I must say that GPU is part of the motherboard and graphics card can not be upgraded at all.

What about the CPU upgrade? Toshiba authorized service providers will not do that and the CPU upgrade is not supported. Few people on this forum have talked about CPU upgrade, but for me the risk is too high. All hardware components are adapted to the work well together and also to reduce the risk of damaging the material. The BIOS is also suitable for the specific hardware configuration. The values of the fans are also tested and there is no risk of overheating.

Change CPU, you will get no more powerful laptop. Modern processors are powerful enough and a few MHz more won't do anymore difference. What you can do is to increase the RAM to the maximum level - 4 GB. That s all what you should do and your laptop runs a lot faster.

Also be careful on the configuration of the operating system. This will also help make your laptop faster than before.

By the way: for operations you need more power? What you want to do with your laptop?

  • problems with wireless after the motherboard, cpu and ram upgrade adapters

As the title says, I have recently updated my card mother, cpu and ram (increased from Asrock extreme6 z77/i7 3770 k/Kingston 8 gb hyperx for EVGA ftw/i5 z97 4670 k/g. Skill ripjaw x 16 gb). I always use the same installation of Windows 7 64 via the same SSD. After I was installing new equipment, I used the disc that comes with the motherboard and installed all the drivers that were available (twice, just to be safe). All the features of the OS I had before seem to be there except to exit Device Manager to correctly install the drivers for my wireless (Linksys AE1000 and TP Link N900) adapters. I downloaded the current driver for the Linksys Web site and I have the disc for the TP-Link and I tried several times to install, but keep the same message ' Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it. Device Manager recognizes the device and it is not any question of State symbol (IE yellow triangle, etc.) that is displayed in conjunction with an adapter. I tried disable/re-enabling and uninstall/re-installing times and keep having the same problem. I tried to search in several forums of people with similar problems, but none of the resolutions seem to work or are suitable for my situation. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

When you upgrade your motherboard, cpu and ram, drivers for particular devices may not be related to other drivers. That's why I suggest you to install all the drivers for the chipset from the manufacturers website and see if that helps.

  • Mac Pro CPU and GPU upgrades

Hello, I am looking to buy a Mac Pro 2008 and had a few questions. 1. I found I can pass of say a 2 X 2.80 GHz 2 x 3.0 GHz CPU, but I looked up a few processors (from my MacBook Air i5 2013) and one very well like i5 Core 6600 k in guides and found compared to my only MacBook, it is barely faster , but compared to the 6600 k, is pretty lame. So I would like to know if I can put a more modern, faster CPU in the Mac Pro. 2. I saw you pass GPU also through multiple models of Mac Pro, but a similar question, wondering if I can swap in a GPU more modern. I'd be by accepting a list of compatible CPU / GPU if it works.

    Thank you!

  • Dimension 3100 hard and graphical upgrade

I have a Dimension 3100 desktop running a Pentium 4 with 2 GB of memory. The bios says its Version A03 who is running and the Dell system is a DV051.  I want rum 7.0 Win, but the size of the hard drive (which is 80 GB) must be increased and the graphics card needs upgrade to a Direct X 9 compatible.   I tried to upgrade to version A04, but I got an error indicating that Windows has prevented the file executable desktop upgrade form.

Question: What size a the current bios SATA drive will recognize? Suggestions?  Recommendations for a graphics card?  I have a PCIe X 1 and a PCL slot still not open.  The monitor is VGA, Viewsonic VA800 LCD entry.  I want to improve until MIcrosoft give up Win XP.  The budget is very tight, otherwise I would buy a new PC. Thoughts?

    tonydv

The Dimension e310/3100 can support SATA hard drives up to 2 TB in size.

Regarding the graphics card, PCI cards are usually low end.

The following PCI card has Direct 9 x.

The following map has Direct x 11 compatibility:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814139070

But, you may need to update the default 230w PSU on a 400w unit.

  • Dimension of del and the upgrade of WIndows

I have a Dell Dimension 8250 with 2 GB of RAM and a 100 GB hard drive.   I formatted the hard drive, installed a new operating system of Windows XP Professional (original disk Dell) and found the necessary drivers on the web to get everything to work - who themselves were there no questions driver in Device Manager. I checked the computer using the Windows 7 compatabiliy program and apart from a game port problem, he seemed to agree to proceed with the installation of Windows 7 (but not upgraded). Then I tried to install Windows 7 on a genuine Microsoft WIndows 7 upgrade disc and received the failure message:

"Windows has no prepare the computer to start the next phase of the installation." To install Windows, restart the installation. »

Acting on the advice of a non Dell forum (which cannot be correct), I tried to install Windows 7 via an initial upgrade to Vista Home Premium (a Dell disc), but got the same message of failure during the process.

This is why it seems to be just a problem of Windows 7 with the computer. Why we can install Windows XP and not Windows Vista or Windows 7 is a mystery to me. The computer is out of warranty and so there is no way I can get direct advice from Dell.

    There, can anyone help?

There is no integrated on the motherboard graphics and a graphics card is essential.  However, the good news is that I finally worked on a solution to the problem.  I said earlier that Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor has said that my game card was not supported and I intend to replace it later (after the installation of WIndows 7).  This time I removed the card completely and WIndows 7 installed without a hitch.  If I had done it earlier I would have saved myself a lot of time and costs of a new dvd player.

    Thanks anyway for your help.

  • TouchSmart IQ524: Mother, cpu and ram upgrade for Touchsmart IQ524 map

I want to move because it no longer works, but I like the all-in-one form. Are there mothers HP spare parts that will fit and fits openings of I/O? Any help is appreciated.

    @Dave-SC, welcome to the forum.

The truth is, HP has their motherboards and components made to their specifications.  For this reason, it is difficult to find a motherboard that has holes which will be adapted to the accessory in the case.  The best way to upgrade, it is to buy a new computer.  We advance the money long term.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium does not start after mother, CPU and RAM upgrade card

I recently updated my PC Windows Vista Home Premium. I changed the motherboard, CPU, RAM and video card. When I booted the machine, it has not started Windows. Windows tried to recover, but could not. Is it possible to get this machine to start without doing a new install? The new facility will lose important files.

    Hello

It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.

The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..

They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.

You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...

To backup your data > buy a hard drive USB enclosure > put your hard drive in it > plug it into another computer > read and copy your data from it in this way.

    See you soon.

  • Overclocking CPU and RAM upgrades!

Hello, first of all thanks for the beautiful vostro 230 desktop I bought it its been 3 years. Not a single problem with it. Its good for the last year, but now a day I am not satisfied of its speed and reliability. Lack of funds, I can just build or buy a new desktop computer, so I was wondering if I can overclock the processor to make my pc faster.
    So here are my questions:

    1. can I overclock the precessor of VOSTRO 230 pc (Intel core 2 duo E7500 2.93 Ghz processor)? If yes how?

    2. I want to improve my RAM. I know that the maximum support for vostro 230 is 4 GB. But I do not understand that it supports 4 GB single slot or 2 GB in slot double? What is the value maximum frequency this motherboard supports?

Please help me with this problem. I look forward to your response... response as soon as POSSIBLE...

    Thank you

    Lenora Patra

Sorry to say, the Vostro 230 cannot be overclocked.

The maximum RAM supported, is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB modules).

  • Dimension 5150 cpu Upgrade

I have 4 dell dimension 5150's and you want to update all the 4 fastest possible CPU for this old of a computer.

Would an Intel Pentium D 945 3.4 work GHz LGA 775 CPU SL9QQ 4 M/800 Presler Dual Core?

They now have PROCESSORS, 3.06, 524, 1 MB, PENTIUM 4 PRESCOTT DT, G1

Or what is the best I could get in these?

I have windows 7 and hoping to be able to get up to 10 but the 524 is not compatible.

    scbauml

The Pentium D945 is the maximum that can be used in the Dimension 5150/E510.

However, if you don't have motherboard 0HJ054 installed and upgrade the processor on most other motherboards will rise a 'incompatible CPU"at startup and need to press F1

The Dimension 5150/E510 does not support all of the processors Pentium G20xx series, these require a different motherboard and socket.
    .
The motherboard for the Dimension 5150/E510 has a Socket LGA 775 and can't stand not all processors Core 2 Duo/Core 2 Quad, single Socket LGA 775, P4 and Pentium D can be used.

The Pentium D945 is the maximum that can be used in these models.

Before upgrading the processor, make sure you have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

  • Dell Dimension 4700 upgrade tips Help!

Hello Dell Community, I currently have a Dell Dimension 4700 and hoped to upgrade my computer to a computer game, with a budget of around $100-200.

I wonder as to the game going, that upgrades would produce the biggest change and progress in the game? I'm hoping to improve up to 2 GB of Ram and add a video card, but don't know if it is the best choice to go.

I have studied this subject and found several posts in the forums, but they were all overwhelmed and I hope to get some knowledge as well as recent graphics cards or Ram that can improve my FPS in game and all around my budget. Thank you.

    I'll try editing a xp 64 bit (curently runing xp sp3 32-BIT)

    > I'll try editing a xp 64 bit (curently runing xp sp3 32-BIT)
Forget that don t recommend install Win XP 64-bit.
Why? Because the Win XP 64 bit was not so popular as Win 32 bit or Vista/Win 7 64 bit and you won't find many drivers for Win XP 64 bit.
Stay with XP 32 bit or you can change to Win 7 64 bit.

    Regarding the graphical issue;
Have you noticed that also using the old CPU (Intel Celeron M Processor 410)?
If this were not the case, then I guess this could be a problem between the CPU and BIOS.
Otherwise I would recommend upgrading the graphics card driver.
