DirectX and graphics card is not compatible?

my graphics card ATI mobility radeon 5470 card works very well with directx 11 and all of a sudden it no longer works. I can't use screen saver or play games more. When I try to set up a screen saver, it says something like: "the screen saver can't run because it requires a more recent or direct3d-compatible video card.

How is it not compatible when it worked fine back then? I checked my directx diagnostic tool and the direct3d is enabled. I checked the Device Manager, the video card is enabled and seems to be recognized by my laptop. I also tried to update the driver, and he said that it is already the latest version, so there is no more updated.

my laptop is the windows operating system 7 and I really need to solve this problem very soon without having to cost a lot. HELP PLEASEEE

When you "tried to update the driver" - you do it through Windows itself?  If so, like many others here will tell you, Microsoft was not making your video card - their support for her is superficial at best.  Go to the manufacturer.

For example...

You can try:

Where you can check the driver appropriate for your operating system is installed.  Can - as strange as it may seem - it must remove device from the device completely (uninstall it, delete the driver) Manager so that you can - before restarting, and to what will be a difficult to use the resolution, very probably - run the above, get the driver generic for your chipset and install it.

The other option is to go to your OEM - supplier of origin - which essentially is the brand name of your laptop.  Their web page - usually the support and downloads - section will be the last driver that they support.

The thing about Windows 7 integrated driver update - my recommendation is to ignore it.

You left out which version of DirectX has been shown.

As far as I know, your Intel 945GM should support DirectX 9 and because you have XP sp3, you must have at least DirectX 9 installed.

I met the following, but it shouldn't apply to Powerpoint:

Some such as the Intel 945 GM Intel video cards have a design limitation which may cause problems when you try to run the Source Engine games. 3D graphics kernel does not support transformation of material, light and the vertex shader to similar technologies, which is an important part of the pipeline of 3D acceleration. Instead, this functionality is emulated in software that can reduce the compatibility and performance with 3D games.

I don't have a solution for you (assuming that DXDIAG, in fact, reports to have DirectX 9 or higher).  You can see if you install a new driver support, but if it were me, I would be first contact Acer technical support or ask your question in another forum as one of the following conditions:

    Intel graphics Forum: http://communities.intel.com/community/tech/graphics
Forum PowerPoint: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/powerpoint (select the corresponding forum for your version of Powerpoint).  Include the results of DxDiag, including the version of DirectX.  If there is something unusual about the image that causes the crash, include this info as well.

Normally, for notebook/laptop computer, it is better to get the drivers of the mfr of computer rather than the manufacturer of the device.

Acer drivers for your computer are here: http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=535 (you want the Intel VGA for XP driver)

    Hello

I just got the Sims 3 for Christmas, and I can't get it started.

I just bought a new p7-1126 of hp computer that meets all the reqs as documented on the site of AMD System. (win7 64 bit, 1 TB hd, 6 GB ram, amd quad core 2.4 GHz processor)

This computer has an amd radeon hd 6550d graph with / 3 gb (I think) (which is more than 128 MB recommended)

and the drivers are up to date.

I get the error message "device 0 cannot run this title, no video graphics card supported not detected" and I can't seem to do anything to solve this problem.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Sims3 deluxe/ambitions three times now, with the expansion of ambitions installed so the third time.

I did a lot of other things as suggested in line when I did research but nothing works.

Help is appreciated and I hope we can get this fixed a problem. Thank you!!

  • HP Pavilion h8 - 1260t: graphics card does not work.

I just bought a Zotac Gtx 750 ti graphic card, but when I tried to install it in my HP Pavilion h8 - 1260t, its beeps six times and displays the hp screen then it starts. My computer's power supply is rated at 460 watts and the card requires 400. The card says it takes 12V 20A, but food does provide that 15A 12V. Do I need to get a new power supply? Or did I make a mistake and buy a card that is not compatible with my system. In addition, if the card is not compatible, how can I make sure the next card, I have to buy is compatible?

I've refreshed recently my PC in the last month, and after a recent update, my Windows computer has stopped responding to orders of brightness and is stuck at full intensity. In addition, it seems that a common measure of troubleshooting is to install a new chipset and graphics card. However, the card graphic driver States during installation is not compatible with my PC (despite the Intel and HP recommend through various Web sites). In addition, the current I have says it's for Windows 8 only and so crashes quite often. No idea how correct the brightness or graphics card problems?
    ~ Lingh

It seems that some research solved the problem.

I finished updating the remaining graphics drivers using a third party service, and things stopped crashing.

In addition, the question was actually with the driver for the monitor, which was something I did not installed (PnP-monitor). I swapped it to the generic PnP monitor, that solved the problem. I got the idea to do it from here: https://superuser.com/questions/948587/i-cannot-adjust-screen-brightness-in-windows-10/949966#949966?newreg=86568d7fbfcd40efbe368b6097c9f65a

There is just no way for you to improve the graphics capabilities of this laptop. It may seem like the A-6 is better because it works to 2.7 ghz, but there only 2 hearts: you have 4. And the 7520 graphics are lower than what you have. That's what you try to do? There is not too many computers that reach 4 ghz, not to mention a laptop.

  • Why the visiontek radeon 7970 3 GB graphics card does not work with my xps 8300?

I bought a Radeon 7970 visintek 3 GB graphic card thinking that it works with my xps 8300. It fits everything is plugged in correctly, but when I turn on my computer does not recognize the graphics card? The graphics card is not broken I build it in another computer and it works perfectly. I am very disappointed at this because I thoughtI would save money, do not buy a new computer and just buy the food and the radeon. It turns out that the Radeon does not work. If someone could tell me what the problem is, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, Jon

    Hi Jongerber,

A 500W (or more) power with a 150W power connector 8 pin PCI Express and a connector power 75W 6-pin PCI Express is recommended for the graphics card AMD Radeon 7970. Your XPS 8300 has a diet of 460W. This maybe one of the reasons for the question from the video card works on another computer.

Please see the link below for the requirements for the graphics card of Radeo 7970:

    http://Dell.to/1brhNaJ

The following video cards are compatible with the Dell XPS 8300.

    Discreet (PCI Express x 16 card) - NVIDIA GTX460, NVIDIA GT420 (M207)
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5670/HD 5770 / HD 5870/HD 5450

When you click the compatibility Option in the link below, you will see that the XPS 8300 is not listed under supported for the video card Visiontek AMD Radeon 7970 systems.

  • HP Pavilion dv9704tx Entertainment PC graphics card does not.

    HP Pavilion Entertainment PC Dv9704tx

    Windows 7 Ultimate

I bought this laptop in 2007. For more than a year, the graphics card is not working(i guess). When I open the properties for the computer, the Windows side to the graphic is just 1.  Same little games like Chess Titans work slowly. When I open Chess Titans, a message appears that says: "faster reduction material is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver that could slow down the performance of games." Make sure that you install the latest video card driver and that this hardware acceleration of the reduction works. "

Moreover, when I put a screen saver 3D, it displays the following message: " the screen saver cant run because it requires a newer video card or one that is is compatible with Direct3D. "

What exactly is the problem, is the dead graphics card... ? Please post a proper solution.

I won't give up that easy.

Now, there are colors on the screen and there was a blue screen a few times, which says something about my graphics card (it disappeared from fast read).
I uninstalled the old driver and reinstalled twice. Nothing has changed. Also I tried with an external monitor, but there wasn't any change, too.

    Now my questions:

This is especially if the malfunction of hardware has been detected.
I presume that the replacement of the graphics card is the reason!

As in previous discussions suggested the replacement of the graphics card is NOT possible. You don't believe!
Looks like that the BIOS cannot handle this new graphics chip.
