DirectX can it be cancelled free of charge installs or by using the system restore

Running Windows 7 Pro, I know that many people here have a problem with games crashing to the desktop on startup, Bad company 2, battlefield 2, world at war cod. much of this is due to having directx 10, or a more recent version, most of them want to work with directx 9 .0c only. If DirectX can be rolled without Setup or by using system restore [Windows 7 with backup function, it destroyed other files added since it was backed up, so I DON'T want TO do this if possible]. I looked around and not seen anything saying how. Would appreciate anyhelp which can be givin.
{Just FYI-Bad company 2 features prominently on their site that tells you how to configure it to run only directx 9 c, so I don't have a job now}

Hi KerryT,

DirectX runtime for end-users (also known under the name of DirectX) is an extension for the Microsoft Windows operating system that provides a set of quick material orders, low level that they can use to improve performance for Windows games and multimedia programs. The current generation of Windows games and multimedia programs does not work properly without DirectX. So, by design, you cannot remove DirectX. You can try to install Directx 9 .0c and check if that helps. But, before to try this step, you can create a point system to be on the side course of restoration.

To create a restore point, follow these steps:

1 open the system by clicking the Start button, right-click computer, and then clicking Properties.
2. in the left pane, click system protection.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. click on the tab System Protection and then click on create.
4. in the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then click on create.

Hope this information is useful.

    keimanzero,

Comcast of Norton Security Suite version is installed? If Yes, who and perhaps malware is most likely to cause questions you have published, in particular the failure of the restoration of the system.
First, configure the system to boot - How to solve a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
NOTE: Start-up mode minimum state all the 3rd party firewalls will be disabled. Open Control Panel > Windows Firewall to make sure that the native firewall of Windows 7 is now on.

Download and Save the update system (or CheckSUR) tool. You will need to download the specific Version of CheckSUR corresponding to the architecture of the system to Windows 7. If you do not know the architecture of the system, and then click the link that says "Click here to show or hide the instructions step by step with images" under method 2: download the update directly system preparation tool from Microsoft Download Center .
Description of the preparation tool system update for Windows Vista for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2

Once the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers. Now, run CheckSUR with the system connected to the internet because it will download the .cab for system files. Reboot once CheckSUR is complete.

Secondly, I suggest that you run the File Checker system while in the same clean boot state.
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the field search programs and files .
    2. Right click on cmd.exe in the programs of list, and then choose 'run as administrator '.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    3. At the command prompt, enter the following line exactly as written including the space between thec and the/and then press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problems facing the system have been resolved.

If they are not, you will need to contact Norton support for the version of Norton Internet Security Comcast to get help, or just uninstall NIS, run the Norton removal tool (right click Norton_Removal_Tool.exe, choose "Run as Administrator"), reboot and then check to see if the problems are still occurring.

  • When I try to use the system restore I get is an empty box where the restore points should be restore which stops me using the restore of the system how can I get the restoration back bridges

I tried to use my system restore, but when I go into it all dates are missing from the box and I can't use the system I tried many different things, but nothing is done, everyone has ideas

If your system restore page display only the title bar 'System Restore', or your accounts settings page of users shows that the 'User accounts' title bar and the screen where information needs to be is an empty white box...

System Restore is a frequent target of attacks by malicious software.  If SR was working before and is now afflicted, run some scans and then fix any problems.

Remember that the system restore is not a time machine.

Your system is currently or has been reached by malicious software.

You can now fix the symptom and scanning for malware later, or you can now find malware and fix the remains later.  I recommend just fixing the symptom of the empty page and forget to do the scans.  The symptom of the problem of fixing and fixing the problem are two different things.

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans using own it may also be necessary to re-register some dll (or you can do this part first, but you still have to do the scans).

    Just fix the immediate question:

Looks like your file jscript.dll became somehow not registered so you can re-record it.

There are probably a few other things that do not work you know yet, so fix them all at once.

Re-registration of these DLLs is correct, even if they do not need renewal.  You can also re-register the dll before the scans that can solve the problem, but the scans are always recommended.

Click Start, run, and in the box enter orders following one at a time.  Click the OK button to execute each command one at a time.

    regsvr32 jscript.dll
    regsvr32 vbscript .dll
    regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll (it's a look of slash)

The last order for mshtml load the DLL but can also contain a harmless warning depending on your environment.

Now check your timetable for restoration of the system and/or the user account settings page.

Your user profile is probably damaged and that Windows has created a new profile for you.  If you are looking into 'My Documents' or 'My images', your old files won't be there - they are in the old profile.  Do a search for your files.  If you find them, you can copy the entire profile.  See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151

  • Is there any way I can remove to concede Mozilla non exclusive, free of charge, worldwide license to use the content that I can download using Sync?

I started to download Mozilla Sync to my computer, but stopped after reading an article in the terms of use. He States, "5. Your content in our Services: you can download content as part of the functionality of the Services. By downloading the content, you grant us hereby an exclusive, royalty-free license throughout the world to use your content in the context of the provision of Services. "Take you represent and warrant that your content will not infringe the rights of any third party and that it will comply with any content directive introduced by Mozilla ', so I stopped the download until I could learn more.
I also think that your privacy under the heading synchronization policy says that Mozilla will strive to keep my content only as needed. If this is the case then by two distinct statements in your terms and conditions Privacy policy, you may deem it "necessary" to keep all my content that you want to use.
My question is this, is it possible to deny the exclusive, royalty-free license throughout the world to use my content that I can download using your service of the Mozilla? "I will not be forced to allow anyone this type of license to use my art or writing ' ad arbitrium".

IIRC, section 5 is basically guaranteeing that you are the real owner of the content that is uploaded to Sync, and that Mozilla is not going to get justice for copyright infringement, the content that you download is safe, and the terms are for a "license to use your content in the framework of the provision of Services' not even Mozilla can access.

In addition to what has been mentioned, consider the following:

First of all, what is the last time that the restoration of the system worked?

    Check your system restore settings:

    1. Click Start
    2. Right click on my computer
    3. Click on Properties.
    4. Click on System Restore
    5. If system restore is enabled, the column status of a player will show surveillance.

Is both as soon as you try to restore to the most recent available? If so, unless you have specific reasons to keep the previous restore points, clean the rest, so that you have the most recent restore point on the left.

    To do this:

    1. run Disk Cleanup

    2. click on more Options

  • The system restore points, how can be stored/kept?

I had problems restore XP on the computer of a friend.  I can't after installing SP3, a question that will be asked in a separate post.

In an effort to not having to do a full system recovery on the computer in question, with this latest attempt to recover the operating system and install all updates, I started the creation of restore points for the system after each step, I took to get things running and upward.

And that is, after installing SP3, with installation fails and then going back until the restoration of the system to an earlier configuration, I found none of the points longer existed the system restore.   :-(

Is there a maximum number of restore points in the system that can be stored in XP and later Windows operating systems?

    Hey, Jose,

I'm sorry for the late reply to your post, but I removed the weekend baby a bad back that makes me mad.

I'll try to put your comments in quotes, with my response immediately after, flea.

The hard drive is 160 GB.  The car had 2 partitions, the recovery partition.  Before reinstalling everything from scratch, I've used Easeus Partition Manager Home Edition to create a 3rd partition to move the original data of C:\ drive to your new partition so my friend can sort files and keep it as he and his family want and discard the rest.  I just copy everything that I can, because I don't know who, what, and where they have stored files.  I actually found a file stored in the recovery partition, but I moved it.

"Here are some reasons that XP will remove RPs.

    • Read the KB article.  To make sure that we are on the same page, I get "system drive" means C:\.
    • Lack of free space should not be a problem.  C:\ is 32 GB, 10.1 GB used.  D:\ is 111 GB, GB used 21.2.  E:\ is 5.98 GB, used 5.00.  E: is the recovery Partition.
    • No disk compression
    • Did not display the warnings system restore.
    • I do not turn off System Restore fo any player.
    • This isn't an upgrade of the system to an earlier version, I just turn on the computer the way it came, new out of the box.
    • The system was always restored from the recovery Partition.  I have a set of restore CD, but they have been written about the recorded side with a felt marker.  I have not tried cleaning off the coast, this will be my absolute last resort.   :-)
    • Disk cleanup does not give me tabs and options as mentioned in the article.  I guess that these show upward when you upgrade from a previous version of the operating system.
    • I don't think I'm under low disk space.    :-)
    • Does not not after the age of 90 days, nor have I have reduced the size of the data store.  I didn't know either of these possibilities before you read this KB.  See how the KB has been written, I suppose that these two parameters can be changed.  Can you point me in the right direction for how to do this?  I have a computer multiboot (XP Pro and Vista Ultimate Edition) and I would change the date of age never delete a restore point, because the computer is rarely used nowadays.

"I don't know that when you install SP3 and it goes well, a single method to uninstall SP3 is to restore the system to the time before SP3 was installed:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950249

This would mean that you would still RPs after that installation of SP3 (if things were favorably) and that was my observation. »

    • When I started to have problems, I simply started from scratch with a Destructive Restore process.  When I'm really frustrated after several failures, I started looking for a quicker way to get back to a point just before I installed SP3 and found this KB.  After that, it was the safe boot mode and using the Control Panel Add/Remove programs to remove the SP3.  And I got very, very familiar with the process!   Laughing out loud

"Other things I can think can remove all restore Points are third party maintenance and system cleaning tools, poorly designed or introducing a third part malfunction anti malware tools, etc..".  Malicious software can disable the system restore (temporarily of course), but I never saw remove Restore Points.  The XP disk cleanup will also delete all but the most recent restore Point. »

    • Other Easeus Partition Manager, I never got far enough along to try any other third party software.  My "modus operandi" is updated completely OS and Internet Explorer before I install any other software and update it.  However, with the idea of the recovery Partition, do not not the software isn't an option.

"If they are all absent, it always seems that a human element involved somewhere."

    • I learned long ago, the days of 8-bit, unless there is a real hardware failure, almost all computer problems can be tracked to a human being.
    • Not all system restore points were missing, just the first I created which is involved by creating a restore point after you change the system, such as the removal of my friend doesn't use software.  For example the software to connect to an ISP with a modem.  They got the DSL.   :-)
    • All deletions of software would help speed up the computer for his own use.  The rest of the family is like me today, Mac users.   :-)

    "To answer your question:

The settings default for the accumulation of Restore Points is 12% of the size of the monitored hard drive or 90 days (both values are adjustable of course).  Microsoft seems to draw attention to the way in which the Restore Points "live."   "Then, the oldest Restore Points will start to get deleted to make room for new Restore Points (see also KB950249).

    • 12%, eh?  Is it possible, in fact, I have exceeded this number by 12% by creating too many restore points?  Knowing what I was doing, which seems to be a possiblity says, as restoring all points were never deleted, only the earlier.

I'll certainly post the info you suggested in the post on the SP3 forum.

"Do or do not. There is no test. »

    • "Luke, the force is with you." :-)

Are you unable to launch/open the system restore?
Are you unable to create a new Restore Point manually?
Your system restore calendar is empty dates?
You preform a restore and get a message that has failed or nothing has changed?

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?
