    Hello

We already have an application that uses the server name and the port with the extension of the application.  We now have a proxy in front of it so that customers won't use the ip and port.

Some clients still use the ip and port instead of proxy usrl. Is there a way to block using app servername with port users.

I want customers to use app.test.com instead of appserver.test.com:7001/test

    Help, please.

If you want to restrict clients to directly access the server, you can use connection filters to allow access only from the proxy and some other machines

rThen your question isn't specific to Windows 7, you must consult the manufacturer. You should be able to disable the USB via the BIOS ports. Also, why do you want to set the optical drive as read only? If it is shared? If so, the advanced sharing disk properties, from there, you can set permissions on the drive. • Problem with security of the ports and disabled learning MAC addresses?

    Hello

Is there a problem, or incompatibility, if you configure the port-security on "n" ports that belong to X vlan and also disable mac-address-table of learning on this vlan?

Someone did he do reference, links or PDFs on this problem?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards.

    Hi Javier,

As I showed above, the combination is valid. I did not all static entries in the security of the ports, but all entries learned through port security will be shown as static on the show see the mac address table. All dynamic learning is disabled.

I don't know what kind of security problem, that you try to resolve, but the configuration is valid.

  • After disabling the firewall, I can't access port 6699

Trying to troubleshoot a remote dvr look at a problem.  The server of dvr of WinXP Pro HOST is up and running and I can view and save the cameras here.  I go to another computer on my network and punch in the IP address and port number (that I had allowed thru firewall of HOST), and it does not allow the connection of Windows 7 Ultimate.

I have disabled the firewall on the HOST pc, and still, it did not allow the connection?  What gives, and how to fix this?

You did not mention what firewall it was, it gives a warning message?

    Try this

At the command prompt (start > run > cmd)
    Enter netstat - ano
You will get a report of active connections
Report includes: Protocol, local address, address abroad, State, PID
Example: Proto local address foreign address State PID
    UDP 127.0.0.1:6699 *: * 6699
Note the PID (process identifier) associated with the port 6699 (also note the local address, address abroad, the Protocol and the State.)
Then, start the Windows Task Manager
Select the process in the Task Manager tab
Find the PID you noted previously
setting of netstat-s displays statistics by Protocol. By default, statistics are shown for IP, IPv6, ICMP, ICMPv6, TCP, TCPv6, UDP, and UDPv6

How to manually open the Port 6699 in Windows Firewall?

Windows Firewall may block the port default 6699. If you want to allow a program to communicate using Port 6699 through the firewall, you can usually do this by selecting the program required in the Exceptions tab in Windows Firewall. However, sometimes the program is not listed on the Exceptions tab. In this case, you must open the port manually.

    1. open the Windows Firewall by clicking on start, Control Panel, security, then Windows Firewall.

    2. click on "allow a program through Windows Firewall".

    3. click on 'add port '.

    4. in the 'Name' field, type a friendly name to the port as "Port-6699'.»

    5. in the 'Number of Port' field, enter '6699' port number.

    6. Select TCP or UDP, depending on the Protocol required to port 6699

  • Serial bus - bytes to the Port returns with the disabled character of endpoint 0

    I'm new to labview...

    I am trying to connect PC to a hardware device that is customized with a UART (9600 baud, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, flowcontrol HW). The device works as follows: when a data packet)<256 bytes)="" is="" sent="" to="" it="" via="" serial="" port,="" each="" byte="" is="" echoed="" by="" the="" uart.="" after="" the="" packet="" is="" completely="" received="" the="" device="" verifies that="" the="" packet="" is="" correcly="" received,="" and="" after="" a="" delay="" (~="" 200="" msec="" or="" more),="" sends="" 2="" bytes to="" the="" host indicating="" whether="" the="" packet="" was="" ok="" or="" not.="" this="" works="" perfectly="" when="" i="" use="" hyperterminal="" to="" communicate="" with="" the="">

    I designed a simple vi to manage it. As each byte is sent, I use the "Byte to Port" property and read the byte of the echo. The problem is after all bytes are sent, I get 0 instead of 2 for the 2 bytes that I'm supposed to get. I tried to do it with the read-write property-reading vi in order, but it does not work. As you can see in the attached vi, I therefore separated this in 2 cases;

(Real deal) during the time the package is sent and (false case) where I just (trying) to read the 2 bytes. I get 0 bytes to the port and the VISA Read vi gives me a timeout error! .... Increase the time to 1000 ms did not help either.

Can someone take a look at the vi and suggest what is wrong and what can be done?

    It will be much appreciated.

    Franck Tulpule

    Franck,

I agree with crossrulz.  You must set the time-out period based on the behavior of the device.

Consider reading 1 byte at a time - all the time - and comparing the result with what you sent.  From the echoes of the unit it receives, you can use this to check communication. Once all bytes sent found an echo, then start the search for "Y" follow-up by "." follow-up by "?" to see if you get the acknowledgement of receipt. With the timeout VISA has some value based on how long you want the program to be unresponsive to user input or any other activity, you can manage the knids of crossrulz errors mentioned.

  • Firefox automatically adds the port number in the address bar when it is not.

I work for an ISP company that implements regular routers for a customer locations. One of the things I need to change about it is to assign the management port 8080. For example, 192.168.0.1:8080. Once I try to install a new router that Firefox automatically assume I want to go to the same port 8080 and automatically concludes for me. Since the new router has not been configured with the 8080, yet I can't. So basically I would like to see if I can stop Firefox automatically enter this bit of information. It is very annoying and even more annoying that I have to use another browser to make changes since Firefox can not. I found a similar fix posted when Firefox will automatically ".www" but which did not fix my problem.

Disable the URL bar auto-complete feature. You can always select an address already used by the arrows down on the drop-down list of AutoComplete, but Firefox won't add characters to the URL as you type. Here's how:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search box that appears above the list, type or paste the filling and make a break while the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the browser.urlbar.autoFill preference to change its value from true to false.

  • Satellite M100 - is a disabled firewire port saves battery power?

    Hey everybody

    I'm not so IEEE...
If I disable firewire in Device Manager it will stop it and it will help save the battery?

    Hi Dmitrij

I doubt that disabled firewire port will help to save the battery.
If you want to save battery power, you should check the options and settings of Toshiba Power Saver.

    Check the HowTO document
+ How to configure my computer for optimal use of battery? +
You can find it in the Forum s box HowTo.

If you are using Vista, then I recommend that you check the Vista power settings.
More details you will find in "HowTo" doc:

  • Try to disable the LAN on-board Satellite A30 using Ubuntu

    Heya,

I'm trying to disable my LAN on Board (Modem) using the bios (F2 on startup) as it is in conflict with my sound card (on ubuntu). However, when I enter the bios, the only options here include the parallel port and power management. Does anyone know how can I disable the modem!

    Thank you

    Tom

    Hello

You want to disable the LAN or modem?
These two devices are not the same!

Anyway. If you don't find any option to disable the modem in BIOS it s is not possible!
You may disable these devices in Device Manager in windows operating systems.

  • Satellite A100-033: I disabled the touchpad and now Fn + F9 won't allow

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-033 running Vista Home Basic. I use especially the laptop as a desktop replacement, and I do not like use the touchpad I disabled it, and instead, I use an external mouse via a USB port.

I don't know if I disabled the touch pad by pressing Fn + F9 or by any other means (if it was by some other means that I forgot what it was). Recently, I wanted to re-enable the touchpad so that I could use the laptop outside the home. However, I found that by pressing Fn and F9 don't re - not allow the touchpad and I now can't use the touch pad at all.

If I go into the properties of the mouse (in Control Panel), that tells me that my synaptics pointing device is enabled. If I go into Device Manager and look at 'mouse', I thought that my touchpad works properly.

All this makes me suspect that the problem is not a hardware failure, but I changed a few settings, so that my touchpad is permanently disabled until I change the setting back to its original state.

    Help!

    Hello

One of the solutions would be a system restore you could try to set the operating system to the point of time at the beginning. Perhaps that would help reactivate the touchpad.

Conversely, you can try to reinstall the drivers for the Touchpad firstly I would recommend removing it from the Device Manager and then after restarting, you can try reinstalling the drivers downloaded!

I would appreciate any comments from you

After the discovery of a new TV remote uses the same frequencies as my computer, my laptop now turn on or turn off whenever I have change the channel on the TV. I would switch the infrared receiver on my computer to avoid this problem. I assumed it would be connected to a COM port that I could simply turn off, but I can't find anything in the corresponding Manager feature of the infrared receiver.

Any help you can provide would be great.

    Hello

Check if you can find the IrDA device in Device Manager.
There, you can try to disable the infrared receiver. Maybe it helps.

  • Port Replicator HP 3001pr: is it possible to disable a port replicator 3001pr HP network port?

    Hello

In our office, we work with two types of docking stations, which is the HP 3001pr Port Replicator. These work very well, but when an employee moves between the two different types (either during the day or at night) sometimes connection problems occur. I suspect it has to do with the ports of network installed in the docking station.

We only use wireless office connections, we don't need active network on the docking port. Is it possible to turn off these completely or we will disable manually on each laptop?

    Best regards

    @D3velopment,

No, because that when whenever a computer connecting the docking station Gets the configuration of the computer.
