Disc pairing partner

My understanding is correct that with normal a redundancy disk can have multiple partners? In other words, different partners for various components of data?

Or is it still a partner for the whole of the disc?

Thank you!

Yes, a disc can have multiple partners, mirroring the DSO is at the level of the measure not at the level of the disc, so can impose new extensions in any of the available disks to spread the load between all disks

Assume that if you have 3 failgroups with a disk of each for redundancy normal diskgroup

Failgroup 1 can have first primary degree and failgroup2 can have her mirror

Next step may be third failgroup and extended his first mirrored failgroup

You can find the number of partners of disks in the order below.

SELECT 'disc', count (number_kfdpartner) "number of partners.

FROM x$ kfdpartner

WHERE PRV = 1

Disk GROUP

ORDER BY 1;

under query provides information of partnership for all discs in all disk groups

SELECT d.group_number ' group # ", d.disk_number" Disk # ", p.number_kfdpartner" partner disk #

FROM x$ kfdpartner p, v$ asm_disk d

P.GRP = d.group_number and p.disk = d.disk_number WHERE

ORDER BY 1, 2, 3;

It answers your question, hopefully

  • HP PAVILION ELITE E9280T D: CTO need new recovery disc

I have a pair of old HP Pavillion E9280T desktop systems. I have recently installed a new hard disks on the two (both are identical machines, ordered that a pair of HP).  I also have a two sets of recovery disks that I made when the systems are new, saved on DVD.

On a single system, I was able to successfully perform a full restore (return to factory settings).  On the other system, recovery stops on the 3rd disc in 68% and gives me the following error message: "Recovery Manager is unable to restore your computer by using the original image. Please contact HP support. 0xe0ef000e error code.

I've searched the forums and found that many others have experienced this same problem.  I tried some of the proposed fixes, such as clean rags and Re-partitioning the hard drive.  None of them worked.

For fun, I also tried to recover the system using the recovery of the other machine disks.  I discovered that I was able to do a full system recovery using these disks.  It tells me that I have probably a corrupt set of recovery disks and not a hardware problem.

Unfortately, while it was fun to find out where the source of the problem, I can of course use the same set of recovery disc for both machines (I'm sure that Windows will blow up as soon as I connect to the internet and connect to MS servers).

So my question is... what should I do?  I don't think that HP sells the recovery discs any longer.  But I have a copy of Win7 Pro that I paid for, trapped on the recovery discs that don't work.

In advance, thank you for any suggestions or advice.

OK... im going to answer my own question... I should have realized this earlier, before posting my initial question.

I had a set of recovery disc for an HP same machine... at the beginning I don't think that I could use them... I did not know that the unique product key MS is not copied or assigned to the recovery discs... and since both systems where the same in all respects... it worked!

    Hi Kelly,

Sorry, I have to disappoint you. There is not the possibility to upload an image of a recovery CD.

If you have a Toshiba laptop without recovery CD, you can call Service Toshiba partner and order a new one!

You must sign a solemn statement and pay for the CD!

Sorry, it's the only thing you can do!

I know there is a possibility that the laser is broken, but I want to eliminate everything before I propose to replace the ODD.

I have looked everywhere for an answer and did everything I learned to do in the past, but nothing has worked.

    I used restore points.
Uninstalled the driver then rebooted to reinstall it (installation is a breeze and everything works).
Reformatted your entire computer (created a backup and restored everything after that she did not).

I'm stuck on this 100% and really want anyone who might have the answer for me or even to suggest something that would be a great help.

    Hello

Have you tried to clean the laser lens?
Do this by using a fluid tip and alcohol of wadding.

  • Equium A100 - unable to boot from the bootable disc

    Equium A100-549

My son s partner has a 2 year old Toshiba which has become slow over time. I had done a backup of the system with office installed etc using Acronis. Anyway, decided to rid running Acronis and recorded image. The program runs normally, and he falls down to a denial of service as the ready to restore screen. It is then with the cursor flashing as usual and then it crashes, and doesn't allow you to access the image.

I am that it can be altered, so reinstalled Acronis. Make an Acronis boot disk to run the image, and he does not take into account the disk boots directly to the normal hard drive (IDE 0) still no joy. Then I tried the restore of laptops disc. In the BIOS, I said peripheral CD as everything first and also the restore disc says place in the drive and turn off.

While it starts up press F12, which brings a menu allowing you to boot from the CD drive. I did, but it doesn t appear to look at the CD and just load windows from the HARD drive. I removed the CD for system devices and rebooted. He found and added the new device to herself and asked to reset. Still no joy!

Scanned with Norton, but still not good. Norton removal. The result is the same. Able to read the CD and also write to it as well. Diagnosis Toshibas ran on the unit and everything seems ok with it.

Tried to make a bootable flash stick on floppy, but it is ignored, well specified the amorçage using other devices.
Basically, it seems that I can t get it to watch prior CD onto the HARD drive.

Flashing the BIOS would heal it? -Registry error causes this?

Y at - it everywhere where I can talk to someone from Toshiba about this?

Any info / help much appreciated

    Hello Nick

Put the delivered device DVD recovery DVD and turn on the laptop. Press the C button and keep it pressed for a few seconds. This will force the DVD player to read the DVD, and I hope that you will be able to use the DVD of recovery for the installation of the OS.

If possible, test it with some other bootable CD installations. Please post the results.

  • Carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-820 s do not read or burn discs

Hi, I'm Natalie and I need help with my problem that occurs.

    Operating system:
    Windows XP Home Edition
    Laptop Toshiba Satellite
    Model A75-S229
Multi recorder drive: CD and DVD

The problem that happens is that I can not get any CD or DVD to work when I put them. What is happening is he's trying to load but makes the window "Not responding", unless I have the disc, then everything will be fine. What is also involved, is that I can't burn discs at all, at any speed.

Also, I would add, when I go to my computer > right click on the DVD - RAM drive > properties and under the general tab it states:

    Type: CD player
    file system: unknown

    I don't know if that's the problem...

    Can someone help me?

    HI Isabelle.

Please check in the Device Manager to see if there is a problem with your optical drive. Normally this will be displayed as an exclamation point against the device.

The fact that the file system is listed as "unknown" is because the drive could not read the format of the disc so that Windors Explorer cannot identify any file structure.

Your problem could be something very simple like a lens dirty or a faulty device driver. It is not easy to tell from your description exactly what can be wrong, but I would say you try some of the easy options so try first to clean the lens, and if this does not resolve your problem, then try to remove the drive (Device Manager) and reboot for the device will be installed new.

If all else fails, you will have checked player be an authorized Service partner.

    Kind regards

  • Win 7 64 bit has been preinsatlled but I only Win 7 32 bit recovery disc

    Hello guys,.

    OK here is the story:

My toshiba laptop comes with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Pre 64 bit. This laptop has 4 GB of memory, so it needs 64-bit to use all 4 GB. Today, Toshiba only provided me with a 32-bit rescue disk that installs the 32-bit version of Microsoft Windows 7 Home pre. Stupid huh?

Today, Toshiba, with an attatude of a 13-year-old told me, we will not provide you with a record of 64-bit, we don't have to do it legally. Telephone Microsoft if you think we are braking the law.

So im guessing they thought I wouldn't, well I did :)
Here are the highlights of what Microsoft has said,
Toshiba using our Direct OEM license and there to provide end users with support to restore the system operating at the same version that preinstalled. Thanks to Windows 7 OEM 32-bit and 64-bit OEM support options they should be you offering two options. However, they are only legally to provide 64-bit because it is pre-installed.

I explained to him that Toshiba refused to provide me with the media and said to themselves, they then trasnfered me the string (basiclly I talked to 4 people) I got threw to the UK head office which is now dealing with my case. They turned round and said that Toshiba are just being clumsy in the fact that they said that they are not breaking the law and to contact Microsoft becauseinfact, they are in violation of the license OEM Direct from Microsoft and Toshiba betwean.

    So what is happening now?
Well Microsoft will now contact Toshiba about this, Director at Headquarters is going to try to get her ANDS on a copy of the OEM disc for me, if it is unable to do, so she'll contact Toshiba and tell them that they must give me with her. They will also investigate Toshiba on this beach.

    So my question to Toshiba,
Why when I called today your sure support decided to take a bad tone of voice, raise your voice and try to argue with me when I was polite and calm with him?
Why when Microsoft told me that you were in violation of license you said that I was not faithful?

As I rip this message Microsoft Head office phoned me, they called Toshiba, Toshiba said Microsoft, they are not in violation of license due to Toshiba which allows users 'Software' to create their own media, Microsoft disagreed with them because of the license indicating to provide to the user the media not a metod to create the media and handed the case to the Legal Department here and Microsoft are now send me one commercial version of Microsoft Home Premium 64-bit for free myself.

Anyway, if a member of the staff may answer my two questions above, I would be grateful.

    Thank you

    > My computer toshiba laptop comes with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Pre 64 bit. This laptop has 4 GB of memory, so it needs 64-bit to use all 4 GB. Today, Toshiba only provided me with a 32-bit rescue disk that installs the 32-bit version of Microsoft Windows 7 Home pre. Stupid huh?

First of all, I guess you don t know that it is a forum for user to user... here in the forum you can get a recommendation of the users regular laptops like you and me ;)

Second, you can find the info in the user manual which was preinstalled on your laptop, which a tool called Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator has been pre-installed that allows you to create recovery disk for Win 7 64 bit and this is the reason why the 64-bit recovery disc has not provided with the laptop.

Like many, I know this is a common process and my Satellite U400 has not provided with the drive too because I could use the Toshiba recovery disc creator to create the recovery disk.

I think that it's my personal opinion, Toshiba and Microsoft are business partner and they know exactly the own enterprise.

  • 2016 iMac, purchase decision: why I'd get a 2 TB vs 1 TB disc fusion? What type of use requires a 2 TB with vs 128 GB 1 TB 24 GB flash version?

2016 iMac, purchase decision: why I'd get a 2 TB vs 1 TB disc fusion? What type of use requires a 2 TB with vs 128 GB 1 TB 24 GB flash version?

At first, we thought they were SSDS but learned that they are only partial. It really takes the extra storage space and our practices are mainly applications to business and other things like google earth, photos, the light using google sketchup etc. To know we are not the players or the designers. However, we do tend to keep our computers for a long time. We still have our 11 year old iMac. Are there benefits hidden suspension for the 2 TB drive that we regret or should stick us to the 1 TB version?  If we were to get a 2 TB we would notice even the difference account required to our practice?

It depends in part on the total amount of storage you need. One way to help determine which would be to analyze how much space you use on your current iMac. I currently have a MacBook Air, which has only 128 GB of total storage (all the flash) and it's big enough for me (though I'm not typical) and I really enjoy his performance. If I was in the market for an iMac, I'd be buying the 256 GB flash storage option - but I don't need total storage space. The information below from the link "how much storage is good for you" in the http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/imac?product=MK442LL/A & step = config

    can help

    Flash storage

Flash storage offers significantly improved compared to a traditional hard drive - performance speed you will notice when you start your iMac, launch an application or browse your photo library. Storage Flash also uses no moving parts, so it works silently. For maximum performance, you can configure up to 512 GB of memory flash on the iMac 21.5 inches or up to 1 TB on the iMac 27 inches.

    Fusion drive

Fusion drive handset storage quick flash with a large hard drive. OS X intelligently manages what goes where, using the Flash for files you access frequently and keep the rest of your digital life to the larger hard drive. Over time, the system learns how you work, so it suits the Fusion drive management view for work best for you. You can choose a Fusion drive up to 2 TB on the 21.5-inch iMac, and up to 3 TB on the iMac 27 inches.

Merge to disk 1 pairs of a hard disk of 1 TB with 24 GB of quick flash - enough to store files of OS X and applications in order to ensure a quick start, near wake instant sleep and quick application launch, with room remains for the most frequently used files and important applications. 2 to and 3 to pair of Fusion results in a hard drive more than 128GB of quick flash storage, offering even more space for your most frequently from the files used. For best performance, systems iMac with 32 GB of memory must be configured with a 2 to big merger or any flash storage.

  • Qosmio G30-201 is unable to read the hd discs

I cleaned the lens of the hd player and the discs are all clean and withought scratches. The reader will read audio CDs and regular CDs, he also wrote for the dvd and cd discs.

When I insert a HD disc in the drive it just continues to produce a whiring sound strang and will not play.

I played the hd movies on the laptop when I got it first, but he is unable to read it now.
    Help, please.

    Steve

    Hello

so, if the player has played before that should always work, or? :)
Installed a few programs that could possibly affect the playback of HD discs? It might be a good idea to recover your system, perhaps to issue it s just a software.
Otherwise, if I were you, I´ll sent my machine to a service partner chartered for a material balance of health. (You still warranty?)

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A50: Need second disc of recovery CD

I just formatted my drive hard, but during the recovery process, I discovered that among the recovery CD is damaged and cannot be read. Now, the computer is unusable.

I'm looking for a recovery CD 2 of 2. The number on the CD is PMR400139ENO. I sent my local ASP (Al-Futtaim Electronics-CSO) a week ago, but still heard nothing...

Is there a place where I can download the contents of this disc?

    Thank you

    Jason.

Don t send e-mails, but try to call with your Asp in your country.
As mentioned if you want to buy the second CD, you will need to order it from the Toshiba service partner.
But I put t know if you get only one of the disks. You may need to order as well in the package.

  • Satellite P25-S520: disc replacement question - who is compatible?

I have a laptop computer P25-S520 and am looking for a dvd for her writer.

I replaced the K12D (Pioneer) with the DW-P50A HP but now I'm looking for something else.
However, I searched in MANY places, but I can't find another suitable writer (dvd).

Please help me with this (I want to chose a 'list' of :).)

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Sometimes you can find that information on the compatible readers in the user manual.
Maybe you will find some info.
But generally, all devices and compatible readers, you can order from the Toshiba service partner in your country.
It is important that you go buy a car with a csel/slave/master settings right because if the disc has wrong settings of the BIOS will not recognize the device.
I would recommend to contact the ASP and control player of these guys right here.

On the Toshiba site, you will find the database with all of the ASP s worldwide

  • My iPhone6s pairs with ONE single device (phone link2cell). will pair with something else, and "bicycle wheel" changes all the time! Any suggestions?

My iPhone6s pairs with ONE single device (phone link2cell). will pair with something else. At the opening of the Bluetooth window "bicycle wheel" next to "Other devices" is always running as if the search! Any suggestions?

When you open the Bluetooth section in the settings, you can still see the spinning wheel, because it is in discovery mode and is actually looking for other devices in the range. Other devices must be in discovery/torque for the device mode to find them. However, I'm not sure you can be associated with multiple devices at the same time with the iPhone. You can have multiple devices matched on the phone, but you can always not more than one partner at the same time. It depends on what it is you are trying to pair.

  • Z620: HP Z620 Ports SATA multiple discs

    Hello

    I bought a HP Workstation Z620.
When purchasing a 256 GB SSD was installed.
Now, I want to install another (additional) hard disk SSD. This does not work, the drive is detected in any of 3 bays. Will I need anything else?

Maybe I can help with this...

A hard 3.5 "has its rear disc SATA data and power ports shifted to the side, seen from the back.  Most 2.5 to 3.5 "form factor cards never change things on the side for the exact amount.

Z620 disk drawers slide in rails, and if a 3.5 "HDD is in place in the drawer matches perfectly with a rear device called a receiver BlindMate, made by Foxconn for HP.

So, to get a 2.5 form factor "SSD to mesh perfectly with the one that you need an adapter appropriate 2.5 to 3.5", not a generic adapter.

My two favorites are the Western Digital IcePack and one made by Foxconn for HP.  Go to eBay and search for:

1 WD Icepack and get one with sides going in the direction shown on the picture below.  You can remove the grey foam and screws SSD in a downstairs:

    2. it's the one that I actually like the best, and it's an HP product.  The screws go in from the side rather than the bottom, and this is the number of the room to look for on eBay... 654540-001. here is a picture:.  When you screw your SSD in this adapter and then attach the drawer Z620 pair, you will be able to slide the drawer in his receiver and the drive will be physically installed perfectly.

There is the question of if you have a drive that is properly formatted in NTFS and type MBR to boot advances.  If you do not understand that you have some homework to do:.  If you have already formatted NTFS SSD and appear on a Windows workstation via another link, then I bet you just have the right adapter to get things to mesh physically together correctly.  Here's this picture of the HP adapter:
