Disconnect Ethernet cable internet on Macbook
Just installed a Netgear AC1200 Wireless Modem Router.
We have a PC, a Surface and a Macbook Pro.
WiFi works well on all of these devices.
Wired is very good with the PC, but when connected to a Mac to another room (by ethernet USB adapter), the internet connection to the Mac becomes invalid after a short while (about 10 to 20 seconds).
This cable has worked well with our old Belkin modem just Twitter.com.
Have you tried cycling the modem, cycling Mac, disable WiFi on Mac, by pressing the wireless button on the modem.
Is this a problem switching? It seems that as soon as the Mac sees the cable it disconnects from the network.
Great to have WiFi working but we bought this new modem to be able to easily turn off the WiFi and just use the cable connections when we are in our office.
I'm certainly not gifted technically, so hope there is something fairly simple to do. Would appreciate some advice on how to solve this problem.
OSGC
Thanks for your help Darren. Problem is now solved. Has been a fortuitous error in a single link cable.

Tried different cables and also reinstall driver for WIRELESS card intel. Device Manager reports all works very well. It's as if laptop won't return without wire in cable mode

Any help much appreciated
Thank youHello
the wireless connection should not have an effect on the connection of the cable, but for sorting, disable the WIFI network.
As you say that the cable is correct, it may be the network ports on the laptop or the router. Try to connect the laptop to another network and another computer to your router. You should then see where is the problem.Good bye

Can I connect an Ethernet cable from my MacBook to a PC to give it an Internet connection?
So I had an office with no Wi - Fi. Can I connect my MacBook 2010 to it with a cable ethernet and who give the computer, an internet connection?
You should be able to share an internet connection via Ethernet. See if there is
items applicable to support when you search help in the OS X menu.
Some control parameters must be enabled; some by default are not ready.
And for the connection remains active, the host cannot go to sleep or be cut off.
Your Internet ISP provides a modem that has an additional Ethernet port? If it is
of the correct type, it can be a direct way to set up a second computer by cable.
Good luck!

My internet does not work correctly. I use an ethernet cable to connect my laptop (using windows 7) to the internet. However the connection is very bad. Sometimes it works but only for 30 minutes max, and other times it does not at all, connect saying that the cable is disconnected. I tried 3 different cables to 2 different ports, then maybe the problem comes from my laptop. It connects to the wifi networks fine but not with the cable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the problem and how can I solve this problem?
Hello
1 did you changes to the computer?
2 did you receive an error message?
Method 1:
I suggest to check and make sure that all cables are connected correctly.
Method 2:
Check the link and try to run the troubleshooter to check if it helps.

Original title: Shared network problem
I am trying to use a shared network, configure as follows. My computer connect wireless to my router. My PS3, however, seems to be really slow when connecting wireless to the router and is at a proper speed when connected via ethernet. So, I have my PS3 connected to my computer with an ethernet cable. I put the wifi connection to be shared. Next, I set up my PS3 to connect to cable internet. Has gone through the steps and connected properly and at full speed too. However, there is a problem. My PC guard 'give up' connection to my router, while remaining connected to the PS3. I have to manually connect to my router again, regardless of the connection automatically option. Almost as if my PC is to use ethernet for internet access, (which he won't get that which is connected to the PS3) and so it loses the wifi connection. This abandonment happens around every 5 minutes or more.
Is it possible to keep my PC connected to my wireless router and still be connected to my PS3 through ethernet to connect my PS3 using my PC?The problem seems to have 'fixed itself. I tried messing around with the connections that would not work even the bridge. Then I've switched back to ICS and did not have a disconnect since then.
So the problem is now resolved, but don't know how?Whatever it is, I am very grateful for your help Manasa, it is well appreciated! -
What is a substitute for the migration assistant? I tried in vain for three hours to migrate files from a macbook pro to each other so that even if connected with the ethernet cable the computers never see each other.
You can connect otherwise? USB or FireWire or love at first sight? You can connect both machines and start the one you want to transfer to target disk mode. If your other machine is up and running with an account on it and you just want to move files, you can simply drag and drop the FRO the machine mounted TDM, or you can use the migration wizard.
Or, if the other machine still starts and runs, you can start both computers and connect to the same wifi network and share the hard drive like machines on the network. Access them in the finder on the new machine files and drag-and - drop, or use the wizard migration, on wifi.

Changed the old Comcast to Comcast modem / gateway Infinity with wifi. Ethernet cable lights are lit at both ends, but yellow light flashes on the airport. Diagnosis says not connected, but I have internet service. How to return to a GREEN fixed?
Whenever you change your network hardware, it's always a good idea to carry out a new round of full power to all your devices. Check out the following Tip of an airport users for more details. Please post back your results.

No internet connection with C6300 only cable modem/router - No. Ethernet cable plugged
About once or twice a week I wake up my desktop PC and see an icon (bottom right) which indicates that I have no internet connection. When I run the troubleshooter network (right-click on the icon) it says to plug in my ethernet cable. I replaced the cable with another know good cable, but the problem continues to return (though intermittently). If I unplug the ethernet cable from the port of my C6300 Netgear and plug it back in the same or another port, the internet connection is restored. I'm on Windows 10 edition 64 - bit OS on my desktop tower PC (Dell). My internet provider is Cox Communications through their cable with up to 100 Mbps of speed. My Netgear firmware version is V1.02.20 to help you can provide me to solve this problem would be appreciated.
Well, it has been a few weeks of performance without error since I replaced the Netgear C6300. So I close this investigation as "FIXED."

I just loaded windows XP on my old tower. I have an ethernet cable connected to my modem, but I can't establish an internet connection.
You are welcome for the answer. You will need to use a cd/dvd drive or a removable media like a flash/USB device to transfer the file on the computer in question. You can download the LOM Broadcom 10/100 Ethernet controller driver from HERE.

My computer is constantly disconnected from the internet and to reconnect I just unplug the cable for less than a second and it starts to work instantly. Does every 5 to 10 minutes and it gets frustrating. It is not the cable modem because it is constantly connected, and I repeatedly checked.

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there

Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
